I am doing EE cos thought its easy according to the title. Can someone briefly explain the original way of red and green cos get very confused trying to keep up when you all talk about it
PS Just back from meal out and went for steak, j pot and sald/veg and opted out of birthday cake0 -
Sorry not to be of much help Moosechops but couldn't find Zizzi either! I think if you had a pasta with a vegetable type sauce (ask them not to put any oil on your pasta) and an icecream for dessert you should be ok! You could always use flexible syns and allow yourself extra for that meal and again you should be fine.
MarionWhen life hands you lemons, ask for tequilla and salt and give me a call!!!0 -

not a lot of syn values for eating out places are on syns online but you can try (top right hand corner) Defo go for tomatoey pasta or veggie
In your WI book there should be a syn section for eating out - it's very general but should give you an idea! Failing that use flexible syns (set yourself a higher limit for the day and keep counting) and enjoy!0 -

Red days - unlimited meat, fruit and most veg are free. You get two HEA and two HEB which would include your cereals, bread, rice, potatoes, peas and other high carb type foods.
Green days - Unlimited rice, pasta, spuds etc, fruit and all veg is free. Two HEA and two HEB which would include your meat, cereal, bread etc,
Hope that helps!

Hi , dont worry about asking lots of questions, I still have to ask and have been doing it off and on since March 08.
Im rubbish at explaining im afraid. Do you have the food optimising book you get when you join a class?
Green is when you can have as much pasta, potatoes, rice as you want. Plus all your free veg and eggs.
You cant then have 2 healthy extra A's - milk, cheese etc
and 2 Healthy extra b's - Bread, meat cereal etc.
you also can have 5 - 15 syns per day,
Red day is - you can eat as much lean meat and fish as you like, of course you can have quorn, eggs and loads of fruit and veg.
You can have 2 Healthy extra A's, milk and cheese etc
You can also have 2 Healthy extra B's - cereal, bread, potatoes etc
syns are the same as green.
The book you get when you join up explains it well.
by the time ive typed this someone else will of answered you lol.
EDIT - god im slow at typing lolI am doing EE cos thought its easy according to the title. Can someone briefly explain the original way of red and green cos get very confused trying to keep up when you all talk about it

Thanks all. To be honest I have hardly used any syns at all this week so I'm sure I will remain within the total allowance anyway.
why is it just as you start a diet you also get a social life just when you don't want one?! I have to go to my inlaws the following weekend and they think dieting is nonsense. They have such sweet tooths that it's all cake and biscuits and desserts and everything cooked in oil (I once caught my MIL throwing some lard into the pan to make me a fried egg - I made hubby eat it as just the thoughty made me want to gag!!). Think i will just try and take a stock of alpen bars and eat as little as poss at mealtimes!Joined SW Jan 10Start weight: 10st 12 1/2Target #1: 10stCurrent weight: 10st 5Loss to date: :T6.5 lbs (wk1 -2.5, wk2 -2.5, wk3, STS, wk4 -1.5, wk5 +0.5)

Well that programme was a load of carp! As yous have mentioned they didnt have much to lose in the first place. But apart form saying stick to 1200 cals per day and half show you how to make a curry, what else did it do?
Mind you, watching the girl scoffing all that chocolate made me feel slightly sick and it made me not fancy my kit kat that I was saving.
Ill stick to Slimming world thank you very much, at least I know I can keep a more varied diet and wont be starving and shouting at the kids.
I also know I can keep doing SW long term. If I did at low cal diet, I would pile it all back on in 2 weeks!!
Even when ive not stuck to SW cos ive not been in the right frame of mind or whatever reason, I still stick to the basic principles, and find myself making red and green choices at meal times.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0
