Morning and Happy New Year to everyone.
I had a nice night with my oh watching tartan telly, but my ds still decided to get me up at 6.00am, so am very tired and have family coming over later.

Having a nice roast pork dinner later, going to keep it low syns though. Back 100% tomorrow.

Fluffynit, I have the wii fit and have never used it long enough to actually feel the difference in losing much weight, but I have felt a difference straight after and the next day as if my muscles have had a good work out. My favourite is the Hula hooping, when you do the super Hula for 6 minutes each way, you really feel a difference in your tummy muscles.
I love my wii fit, but as I say I dont get to use it much, as soon as I bring it out my 4 year old and 2 year old are shoving me off for a shot.
When Suzi Perry tested it on the Gadget show, she used it every day for 6 weeks, she was a bit more toned, but her centre of gravity and balance was improved after it also.

    Hi all

Interested to know if those with wii's and wii fit's have found them useful and whether they noticed a difference with their weight? Got a wii for Christmas and thinking of buying wii fit plus/board.

Have a super time SC in Embra'. I was in town this morning and it was so busy..we have still loads of snow just 4 miles from city centre..burnt off a few calories this week, lugging children around on sledges and clearing the drive and pathways!

crockpot, i just looked at your actifry on argos out of interest, and it says it's a 14ml spoon...which is a tablespoon, so I think the syns for the oil works out as 6 for that amount. It's still worth it though if you're sharing and it does 1kg of chips for 6 syns.

Thanks for that, would only eat 1/2 at the most so 3 syns is not that bad and I think they are much nicer than SW chips!

Are there new books and things out? Is it no joining fee?

Might re join and just go the 1st week to get the books, we are going to have a weekly weigh in at work pay £2 each and the biggest loser gets the money!
  • happy new year!

i've only just got my wii and wii fit on xmas eve and have been on it everyday up till tuesday when i got sick and i could feel my muscles had been worked! going to start doing a proper routine when i'm fully better, planning to do 30 mins a morning before work to start.

    happy new year everyone!

well i was very good, no over eating before xmas. xmas day, boxing day and the following day i just went mad and have been good since. over the whole xmas period, i only gained 2 pounds so im well pleased! after emptying out, ive already lost one!

i got the wii fit plus for xmas, as i already had the wii, and never got the original wii fit. everyone i spoke to told me the wii fit plus was better so i got tht and it is brill! theres so many extras games on it, it can weigh you, tell you how many cals youve lost etc, i recommend it.. i used it last night for the first time and i intend on using it alot! so much fun and i really ache this morning!!

well done karen on your 5 stone loss!

Yes there's a new book out for the New Year which focuses on the Extra Easy plan. It's set out a little better IMO and of course, as always, there are some changes here and there.

It's half price membership (so £5) and the class fee is rising to £4.95 so you'll pay £9.95 on the first night.

I have found that these 'work' groups often fizzle out in a few weeks, so don't let the general indifference make you stop. Committment is everything - if you stay committed, you will lose the weight :)
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

Had a grand time in Edinburgh for New Year - would recommend it for anyone - so well organised, no trouble & free buses home! Won't be back on plan until Monday when I'm in control of my own kitchen, which I'm disappointed about but am determined to get straight back into it - this is the year I get married after all!
  • Hi, does anyone have a list of 'free' foods that I can get from Aldi please? Feeling motivated and want to try and keep weight loss foods cheap! xx
  • Hi there - I am someone who knows ww like the back of my hand and although I have 6 stone to lose I have never managed more than a stone and a half on ww.
So I am now thinking about Slimming World but to be honest I am struggling to get my head round it. At the moment I cannot get to classes but I do have copies of the books so I am trying to find my way with them.
I am a veggie so my days will be green or extra easy I think but getting my head round syns is causing me stress (I am sure that I will get there).
What I wanted to ask about today is diluting juice - I drink a lot of diet coke but I find that this bloats me so I am planning on drinking either fruit and barley (robinsons) or just their normal no added sugar juice. Is this ok?
If anyone has any tips advice or comments please share them - I am trying to read this thread and copy and paste useful stuff into a word document but there is so much in here.
I shop in asda, aldi, iceland and somerfield so if there is any supermarket specific information out there I would appreciate any pointers.
    Ta
    xx
