Am thinking of starting SW in the new year (giving it a good month after giving up smoking) and was wondering what it was like - have never tried a group healthy eating (it's not a diet) thing before.

Hi Elfen, give it a go, its great, a lady in our group has just got to target and she had stopped smoking at the same time. With Slimming World you honestly don't have to feel hungry EVER!:T

I was skeptical but I find its not as difficult as it could have been, I have been a member for 7 weeks and have lost 16lb :j, and that's including 3 Christmas dos and Christmas day and Boxing day dinners- its great, I have never felt so motivated before or so undeprived (if that's a word). With regard the group thing, just remember everyone is there for the same reason and its good to hear how everyone else is doing and getting hints and tips each week really helps.

Sorry to sound so gushy but I'm really pleased with it.
    HTH and good luck

1 level tsp of oil (all types) is 2 syns.

That sounds too good to be true for 'fried 'chips. Is is still 2 syns after frying? I might treat myself to one if it is. I love SW chips done in the oven but sometimes I crave nice crispy proper chips.

    well done jules!

Well, weigh in just happened...and 7lbs of festivity has piled back on over the 2 weeks. I'm glad I went to weigh in today, otherwise I would have kept on eating, just having canned chick pea dahl with boiled rice and vlf yoghurt tonight as my curry substitute, as my mam and dad have got an indian takeaway. Unfortunately staying in with uni work and not drinking thanks to massive deadlines on the 4th, just need to keep a pot of soup on the go so I can have it for one of my meals a day over the next few days. This time next year it'll be all over, and hopefully I'll be a lot slimmer!

Should still be 2 syns after frying after all only adding raw potato, and 1 tsp is for 1 kg of chips! So looks like I will be eating lots of Chips!

Got my actifry from argos on sale before xmas at £110 plus a £10 voucher.

crockpot, i just looked at your actifry on argos out of interest, and it says it's a 14ml spoon...which is a tablespoon, so I think the syns for the oil works out as 6 for that amount. It's still worth it though if you're sharing and it does 1kg of chips for 6 syns.

    Hi all

Interested to know if those with wii's and wii fit's have found them useful and whether they noticed a difference with their weight? Got a wii for Christmas and thinking of buying wii fit plus/board.

Have a super time SC in Embra'. I was in town this morning and it was so busy..we have still loads of snow just 4 miles from city centre..burnt off a few calories this week, lugging children around on sledges and clearing the drive and pathways!
