have you asked your consultant why you are not losing?
a woman at my group is the same, she has been coming for three months and only loses 0.5lb now and again. the rest of the time she sts.
have you measured yourself?0 -
Yay Dazzle21 - well done :T what a brilliant loss!
Catt, you know I would love to be able to help you, you seem so agonised over this weight losing business. It is my honest opinion that somewhere along the way you have begun to 'tweak' or otherwise not follow the plan as carefully as you think you are.
Please don't be offended, I mean this is the kindest way. You've been following Food Optimising for a long time and I know how easy it is to get into bad habits. I still struggle myself, it's never all plain sailing for anybody.
My best advice is to go right back to basics:
Get your books out and reread the 'rules'.
Double check that everything you think is a HE really is (some of these have changed over the last year or so).
Go back to weighing absolutely everything that isn't free food.
Change your HEs regularly, different breakfast every day etc.
Make sure you have lots of S and SS foods.
Make sure you choose very low fat (or fat free) yoghurts etc
Prepare and plan ahead so you're not caught out, starving with no SW friendly foods handy.
Use a food diary every day and fill it in honestly.
As a last resort ask your Consultant to give you an SAS log. This may help you to spot where you are sabotaging your efforts, because I'm sure that's what you're doing, albeit unwittingly.
Your first weeks loss of 6lbs (+ or -, I can't find the post where you mentioned it) shows that when you're 'hungry' for change, you can do it.
Finally, stick with the Wii for as long as you can, 4 or 5 times a week, but don't take it as an excuse to have extra treats.
You WILL be a gorgeous bride if you stick with it, but please don't even think about a liquid diet, they leave you feeling dreadful and you want to be full of life on your wedding dayI let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
cat , I am on two different medications that make me gain weight ,
I dont know if you are on anything , but if you are it may explain things.
Is anyone finding this cold weather makes them more hungry ?Kindness costs nothing0 -
Catt, I mean this in a kind way but if he really wants to see you healthy etc then why is it when he's there you find it so much harder? Surely he should be helping making it easier for you when he's there as he's there to encourage you and help you feel motivated to do it? I hope that didn't come across as rude or anything it really isn't meant like that, I just think if you're doing it partly for him then he should try and make it as easy as possible for you. Does he know everything about the diet? Maybe telling him all about it might spur him on to help you a bit, and therefore will help your weightloss?? It might help make you feel more positive about everything too. You can tell me to butt out and mind my own business but I've been worrying about you all night last night as I know how bad we can feel when it's not working.
Yes, he does know everything about the diet as he used to do it with me. It's only difficult because when he gets back from work (300 miles away) he wants to kick back with alcohol and I used to hate him drinking when I 'couldn't' (ok I could but not as much!). I'm getting more used to it and buy Diet Coke as a 'treat' when he's having his whisky & wine (I have one glass & make it last!)
He's a very good cook and always makes fab quorn curry/chillies and makes a roast with frylight etc.
In his own way he's not very supportive (to do with his upbringing) but he does help me I promise!0 -

have you measured yourself?
Mentioned it the other night during image therapy & I have to do a food diary for her. Will go from there
No, haven't measured myself but did think about it last night. I only took my 'starting' measurements when I stopped losing (I'd lost a stone) as I'd forgotten to at the beginning - will try and remember to measure tonight!0 -
Thanks consultant - will take on board everything you have said. I think I have some SAS log's from last time I did it. Will dig them out. I do use my book (& the website) a lot to have a look for new HEb's & the weights, but I will certainly go back to basics and check everything as if I didn't know.
Mirry - the only one is a contraceptive pill & I blamed this last year when I got stuck too. I'm still not convinced it ISN'T but I can't go onto anything else until my BMI is down a bit more (I did look at other methods but dismissed them all for various reasons)
I'm touched by everyone's support. I haven't lost faith in SW as I KNOW it works but just frustrated! Hungry now as popped into parents and stayed longer than I thought I would but got a huge salad in the car I'll have in a bit! :drool:0 -
Contraceptive pill defo had an effect on me so maybe ask ur doc? There are loads of different ones. I hope you're feeling a little better today
Got my WI tonight so am starting to feel nervous. Have been drinking lots but sometimes that means my body retains alot of fluid and I sometimes don't loose until after drinking alot for quite a while. I know I should everyday!!
I have had cheesey beans on toast for brunch and will probs have a muller later on. No idea what supper will be as OH is sorting it whilst I'm at class, I'm hoping for jacket pots or sw chips, eggs etc..
There's a lady at my class who joined only a few months ago and has lost the same as I have in 7 months (she's got more to loose and always sticks 100%!!) but she didn't see me when I started or anyone who's lost that amount so I'm bringing in my before photos for her to see... I hope she can see a good difference lol!! I take it we can't post before photos on here cos it would be good to see people's before and after pics!!Joined Slimming World 19th May 2009

am i being too hard on myself??
very nearly had a small slice of chocolate cake but decided against it, only had 2 syns today and not planning on having anymore today and none yeasterday as i'm saving some for saturday.
i'm thinking if i had a small slice of cake i might want to tomorrow and friday or just one choc might lead to two or three!
i think some hot chocolate tonight for 2 syns might help my cravings coz they are getting soo bad, i think its coz im being soo strict! im going to be leniant on sat and at my works do next wed and on xmas day which is why i am being so strict now but do you think im leading myself to a big binge???0 -
Laura, yes. I tell myself I will have 3 and because it isn't 'one' then I do stick to 3! Do be moer lenient on yourself - syns are there to be used! Maybe funsize choc bars or something? I always like the mini dairy milk's you get in a pack!
Catsy - I don't see why we can't post piccies here!0 -
hmm ok well I will try and post a before and a now pic then!! I hope you are all eagerly awaiting them!! lol Oh and I agree about being more lenient laura!! I personally think having under 5 syns a day (even if you are saving the rest up) is bad for you, our body needs fatty foods too!! I love to indulge the buttons multi packs, only 4 syns and just enough to keep cravings at bay!!Joined Slimming World 19th May 2009
