Loved the story consultant - and thanks for the reminder:A

OK its a star week - and feel gross BUT even though I haven't lost anything this week my clothes are looking (and fitter) much better:D Need to believe it though - as a little voice always says 'you're kidding yourself dude!' when the numbers haven't moved!

  • That's a great story consultant and a very good point - I think recently I've been feeling so down at how much further I still have to go I've lost sight of the progress I'm already making!
  • Very well done Melba, Saver-Karen and others. Some impressive efforts being made in the run up to Christmas!

For me, another pound has vanished this week. This brings me up to 9 pounds so far (in 4 weeks). Not massive but fair enough as I went over my syns by about 30 syns due to an unscheduled meal out.

Have set myself a target of 2 pounds for this week, despite having 4 christmas do's / meals out for 4 evenings in a row next week. Might as well try!

I am going for Tapas tonight. Should be plenty of veggie, fish and meat bits that will be alright for an extra easy day. Any recommendations?

Hi everyone , I have some quorn mince here , to make a sheppards pie which I used to make years ago but didnt like it. So my question is ...

what can I do to make it more tasty ?

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
use a beef stock cube, or bovril to give it more flavour - also tomato puree or passata! This is what I had to do to the quorn chilli I made last night - and it was fab! :)

  • I tried Quorn mince for the first time ever last night. It had been sitting in the freezer forever! I never felt like cooking with it before.
Well, last night I made the keema from November issue of SW magazine and it was AMAZING!!! (I used beef stock cube, as Skint says. alos, the recipe calls for curry powder, chilli, garlic, mushroom, onions, carrots and basically cooks for about an hour and a half.....mega tasty)

The thing is, I'm not a huge meat person so I would even say I preferred it to a real-mince version. (For once I wasn't worried about choking on gristle or bone....I must have eaten some dodgy mince as a child, possibly in school dinners.......!)

Plus, since Quorn is free on green, red and EE, I still had a green day, hence having more HEX to enjoy during the rest of the day.
So I'm basically bigging up Quorn mince and the keema recipe. I'm thinking that like quark or tofu, quorn mince is what you make it!
  • oh, forgot to mention the keema also contained tinned tomatoes, in case anyone fancies making it
