Feeling quite pleased today. I got a bag of clothes down from the attic and tried on some size 14 jeans that I bought a long time ago which didn't even fit me then.
And I managed to do them up!! I couldn't breathe or move obviously but I was very chuffed that I was in them!
I've also got a skirt and a cardigan that I can wear - it's just like going shopping!
Well done to all the losers and lots of encouragement to everybodyAugust Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.0 -
Well done Franby its a great feeling isnt it? Ive dropped back from 16 to a 14 again. Im still annoyed that this time last year I was a 12, but thats not going to happen before xmas.
Ive got a lovely knitted dress that can be worn with leggings and boots for xmas and any nights out. I hate my tummy in it. Ill need to have a go on the wii and do the hula hooping from now until xmas to try and get rid of the wobbly bulge. The rest can be hidden by HUGE hold me in pants.
Dont know what to have for tea tonight. I have loads of quorn chicken pieces to use up. I was trying to clear the freezer ready for xmas baking and goodies. Any suggestions that my oh and 4 year old can have too?
I normally make quorn into a curry but she wouldnt eat that.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -

It seems the more I want it the slower it comes off. I'm still going to be fat when I get to my wedding day
Hi, SC, you will make it to your target my June, I know you will. Your one of the best for ideas and motivation. Half a pound is still a good loss. You dont want to lose it all too fast and be all loose skin. Nice and slowly does it.
You still have 6 months till your wedding. Dont forget your doing a lot more exercise on your cross trainer, it is probably muscle your starting to build. Your more likely to see yourself toning up rather than losing for a bit. You'll still look good no matter what. Keep at it, your doing great.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -

Hi and welcome to the thread, you'll find loads of hints and tips if you go back through it. The main recipe thread is here http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=1948340&postcount=3
Nic2075, will you be able to resist all those goodies you're planning on filling the freezer with? I have decided that this year I'm definitely not buying so much. I know, most of us say that every year but this year I mean itI always end up still eating trifle/mince pies/gateaux/nuts etc way into the New Year and it makes it too hard to get back on track. So this year it's all going to change!
My youngest daughter is working all Christmas and New Year (again) so there will be less of us, just 7 adults and a little 'un. I've bought one of those 3 bird joints instead of a turkey this year, so hoping that goes down well. I hate turkey, have never been able to get it moist and succulent like they say it will be if you do x, y or z! Last year we had a capon and it was lovely but the farmer I bought it from has given up and I can't find any more locally. Iceland have stopped selling sprouts with chestnuts and we loved themI know I'm lazy buying frozen sprouts, but all that peeling takes too long when there's so much other stuff to do.
Sorry for rambling - don't know what any of that has to do with slimming, it's just on my mind at the mo. What's everyone else having/doing for Christmas. Anyone having lunch in a restaurant on the day?I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
No not in a restaurant... but I have a xmas buffet as a work do this friday so thats not really a prob, i have a christmas dinner at my mums the weekend after this one, then i have one xmas day when i go to my dads, and then there will be some sort of meal/treats at the inlaws a few days later, not to mention an xmas party at my aunties on boxing day!!! im determined to be good through out as i dont want to have to re lose what ive lsot already!! weve bougt practically nothing (considering we wont be here to eat it, and dont want to be eating it in jan!)
i promised myself i would by the beatles rockband game once id lost a stone.. well my dads bought it for me for xmas so ill be getting it either way, but i still want to lose as much of this stone as poss... ive lost 10, dont know how likely it is ill lose the other 4... its time of the month for me this week which started a few hours after i weighed monday so im hoping monday i wont be heavier because of it...
enough ranting now!! x0 -
Weigh in tonight for me, I need another 4lbs before xmas and including tonight that's 3 weigh ins so doable methinks!!
I have had an xmas lunch at my parents' on sunday as thye go on hols this sunday, then got xmas day (well xmas eve-28th) at my bfs parents so I'll have to try and be VERY good!! And I then go on hols on the 29th to join my parents in Florida so more bad eating!! My plan is to damage control up until xmas eve then just try and take it one day at a time, when I can't plan then that's all I can do. I'm going to continue to weigh myself in florida as we have scales and put in on the computer but it's my only holiday in a year so I will let myself be somewhat 'naughty'!!
I MUST go through my cupboards, fridge and freezer either tonight or tomorrow night as I need to plan until xmas eve and try to eat down everything we have!!!Joined Slimming World 19th May 2009
Loss so far 3 stones & 7 lbs!! :j

probably not is the short answer :rotfl:
Im actually baking/making chocolate fudge and coconut ice to go in hampers, plus for dd's teachers. I plan to only make exactly what I need so theres no nibbling.
By filling the freezer I really meant with food for over the xmas period so I dont have to do a big shop, so im stocking up and going to batch cook meals.
I love mince pies but have banned them from the house. Ill enjoy one on xmas day. Thankfully xmas dinner is at my sisters house so I wont have to buy in any extras. Im in charge of the starter, and as there is so many of us and all have diffeent tastes im making sort of canapes. Im making SW pate on mini oatcakes, mini goats cheese bruchetta using those mini melba toasts and a wee bit of sundried tomato paste. And the aubergine cavier blinis form last years xmas mag.
Then we are having soup (scotch broth) so thats not too bad. Its just the roast spuds and cheesecake for pud that will be the big problem.
Ive decided to drive this year as it would be around £50 for a taxi, also my sister in law is pregnant so ill keep her company. So maybe a small glass of wine with dinner.
Im going to stick to the plan up until Xmas eve, then ill relax until the 27th. Im out for a meal and drinks on the 28th so very much off plan. So ill be good after that until Hogmanay. Of course drinks and nibbles that night. Then traditional steak pie for New years day dinner.
I cant resist all that yummy food. So im going for damage limitation rather than being very good as I know i wont be able to do it.
SW starts again on Jan the 2nd, thats a promise.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
