  • i've fallen off the wagon this week to. today has been ok but had no healthy extras as yet. having a green day and going to have beans on toast for tea. had some chocolate but not sure how many syns in it but i'm sure its less than 15 as i shared it with my mum! hoping tomorrow will be a good day but sunday and monday are going to be harder! i'm worried about between now and xmas as lots of things on but if i food optomise most of the time and focus on maintaining instead of losing hopefully i'll stay on track. i have about 1stone to 1.5 stone to lose now, i'll see how i feel when i get to that weight.

If its any comfort to anyone, my end of this week has gone pear shaped. Due to work commitments and personal ones I have been rushing around with no time to cook properly. I found myself bolting down a couple of bananas this morning for energy, but they give me indigestion at the best of times.

I had about ten minutes to eat lunch and had a tuna and cucumber sarnie (low fat one from Sainsburys) but again cucumber gives me indigestion. Followed by two oat and raisin cookies!! No syn counting or a/s and b/s I am afraid.

I have to go out tonight in a few minutes too, so no time again, but tomorrow is another day and I will have time to eat more healthily again and have time to eat!!

Sometimes, especially in this run up to Christmas, I think things do start to get too frenzied and it's really hard to fit everything in. Chins up everyone.

It's a really good time to be sure you have the ingredients for 'quickie' meals......nice large potatoes for baking, tins of beans, packs of savoury rice, tins of tuna, sweetcorn, crushed tomatoes etc to make a quick and easy pasta sauce.

If all these things are to hand you're less likely to blow it when you're in a rush, after all, it only takes 10 mins to bake a potato in the microwave and fill with tuna & sweetcorn for a free EE meal.

As we often say, Slimming World is easy but life isn't, at some points you have to make choices. If you make the wrong choice today, there's always tomorrow so it's not a catastrophe :)

Being organised is the key I am sure, sadly its one of my weakest points :o.

On the bright side, I am in this for the long haul so I am not going to sweat about one day going pear shaped! :)

Apart from the oatmeal cookie things, I have not done too badly really. Just having a Muller light before I go out and my a) of soya milk with Cresta milkshake sugar free mix.

Thanks for your kind words everyone, I'm feeling much brighter now I've got the flat straight and my OH is home.

I haven't exactly helped my weight loss by having a pizza and beer this evening, but I really enjoyed them. In addition I'll be socialising this weekend with friends for my birthday which will no doubt involve lots of drinking and eating, no chance of watching my weight there!

I like the idea, once my birthday is out of the way, of partaking in some damage limitation and just focussing on keeping my weight steady, should be a lot less stressful.

    :)

Yay! Glad you're happier Liz3yy - it's a great mood lifter having your OH home isn't it? I've just picked mine up from the airport & sooo good to hug him again! Didn't realise how much I'd missed him this week.

Thanks for all the HEb ideas, so many I didn't even think of!! I used to have alpen lights but got bored of them. I seem to find something I like and then have it so much I get bored, variety is the key but I just can't seem to have the imagination for it. This week isn't going that well for me either, had a dreaded mcdonalds, however just a happy meal so not the end of the world. And on sunday I'm having a christmas lunch at my parents' as they go away for xmas next week. Why is it that around xmas it seems so much harder to make the right decisions? I REALLY wanted to be at target for xmas, but don't think I will, especially as I still haven't decided what it is, but I'd say it's anywhere between 0.5 and 1.5 st to go. I guess it get's much tougher as you get nearer but I'm really finding it hard atm. The really annoying thing is that after I've eaten somehting bad I ALWAYS regret it!!! Today's excuse was that the steak we were going to have hadn't defrosted. and we were late home. I don't mind having one bad day a week because I tend to be able to do well the rest of the time so I still loose but I feel like I'm having more bad than good at the moment!!

Sorry about the moan, I just really needed it. I guess the only reassuring thing is that I don't seem to be the only one finding it tough at the mo. I'm tempted to email my consultant and ask her to help motivate me or something!! I think the other problem is that everyone's telling me how great I look (lovely of course) but that I don't need to loose anymore weight and I feel like I do, I'm still in the overweight category for my BMI, although only just. My tummy is still big and flabby and I HATE it!! I am doing crunch ups and leg pully uppy things (to help the lower stomach) every night (well every night I don't feel too tired so probs 5 out of 7).

Sorry again for more moaning. Sometimes it's hard to talk to others about it, they don't understand why I'm moaning as I've done well so far!!

catsy - cardio is the way to go for a flabby tummy! Crunch ups will tone the muscle underneath the flabby bit, but won't do anything for the flab (my biggest problem area too!). I do 30 mins on a Cross Trainer a day (sometimes more) and I can see a difference already :)

Catsy, my heart goes out to you and I know exactly how you feel. Like you I got my weight down to a level that made me feel so much better but I felt some pressure to lose more. Everyone told me I had lost enough. It was getting so difficult that I gave up, gave in and ended up gaining the whole 12 lbs back.

Be ruthlessly honest with yourself, do you think you will really be any happier with yourself. I think with us women we think we can never lose enough. I hope I am making sense.

I would kill to be back at that weight I was a year ago. I looked fine. One stone heavier than in my twenties, but hey I am in my fifties now and a bit of extra weight saves on the need for botox!!

Try not to be so hard on yourself. If it was your friend feeling this way you would have sympathy for their plight. Why do we turn on ourselves in this way? Especially when it comes to weight?

    Take care. X

PS. The leg pully uppy things sound a lot of fun!!!!!

    Morning All

As you can see from my sig I have decided on a total restart. I felt I was getting a bit lax and it was time to get myself going again.

Boots scales yesterday read 12st 2lbs so I've decided to scrub my progress on BodyOptimising and go with that. It was a bit of a shame to wipe my awards but I know I've made progress and now I need to focus on what I'm going to do not what I've done. Felt a bit in danger of resting on my laurels!

I like to deal in whole half stones so I've put my new target at 9st 9lbs - I'm 5'4" so that's OK isn't it? - I'm never going to be a stick insect!

I also need a bit of extra motivation to get me through this lead up to Christmas. I have to remember that Xmas day, Boxing day and New Year's day are the only 3 days when I might cut myself some slack and I must not get caught up the general 'go on, it's Christmas' vibe that I can feel building up around me.

Repeats to self - I AM in charge!!

    Have a good weekend everybody!
