Some how we have managed to spend £120 in supermarkets since I last posted..I almost feel that I should appologise for spending so much! The bad weather just made us want to curl up in front of the tv with warm comforting food but not to bother getting things out the freezer or cooking from scratch. OH fancied takeaway, but we had one last week, so i convinced him to have a special trip to Sainsburys and buy 'naughty' food, we ended up spending £20 (got tooth brushes and his lunch treats for the week) so not really economical! But on the plus side, he's decided he prefers our home cooking :) which made me very pleased! I've got a beef joint thawing at the moment, so going to cook some nice warming dishes for the next few days ;) Hope everyone who's poorly feels better soon xxx

Still need to update with Friday's spends, but 2 NSDs over the weekend for me :T

Will almost certainly be spending today - but mostly on Christmas (and 2010) stock-piling ;)

Just had an email from Mr M, and they've got 'Buy 1 Get 2 Free' on Pring1es and Peps! (Christmas stock-up), and also on R@gu sauces (2010 stock-piling, as I prefer these to the cheap sauces but can't justify buying them at full price).

Just need to hope they've got stock left when my shift finishes today (5pm), as I don't have time to go in and bring them home before the start of work, and I won't get them into my locker either (small locker, and they seem to give all the top ones to those of use who are 'vertically challenged' :rolleyes2 )

Also going to pick up some Flor@ Buttery for DS (half price), as we're almost out of the cheap spread - which I discovered has shot up by 10p in the last week - and I know he'd appreciate a better one for once :)

Hi all just popped on to update signature and catch up with how everyone is doing. We are hanging in there but need to check out the receipes going into bored budget mode and thats dangerous territory especially as the weather is awful so dh who is a s.e gardener wont be working today so budget going to get tighter, mainly cabbages and leeks left at the allotment so got to find 101 things to do with them :D. Good luck everyone and keep going.
  • catching up adding in my totals, i spent £30 on bits and bobs throughout last week, £108 at my friday shop and £21.03 today in M's although todays was actually a lot of special offers to stock up and put by for crimbo (buy one get 2 free on pringles lol) so a total of £159.03 to add onto my total

I have £10.02 left in the budget with 2 weeks (one shop) to go:eek:

I have spent £23 more on Christmas stuff and a £5 more on meals out than I had budgeted for in November. When I see it written down like that it actually doesn't seem too bad as it means I can adjust December's budget for Christmas stuff to take into account what I bought this month.

I still haven't bought washing powder and we ran out yesterday so this will take me over budget. I have meal planned for the next 2 weeks so don't need much in the way of a top up shop on Saturday and my DH has decided he wants to lose a bit of weight before Christmas so that should mean I have a bit more out of his beer budget to play with.:D

I need to have a good think about how I shop as I started this month expecting to do 2 on line shops but that never happened. I think I might be better with a once a week visit without DH as I always spend more when he is there!

  • Hi everyone,
absolutely depressing weather here. Rain and wind and dullicon9.gif. Only bright spot on the horizon is all the comfort food. Having hm chicken and rice soup for lunch today and taking boiling beef from freezer to defrost ready to make scotch broth tomorrow.
Tonights dinner is hm cottage pie and veg left over from yesterdays meal.

Have had a couple of nsd and think I should only need bread, milk and some fruit this week. (famous last words)
    Good luck to everyone.

I'm in love with MrS home shopping:D

Have an abscess on the roof of my mouth at the mo, so cant get out to shop.
Never used it before, always worried 'bout wrong items, iffy dates, missing the whoopsies etc, but my order is spot on, the dates are great, the driver took everything up to my kitchen and even offered to help unpack it!

Now I did wonder if I would remember to order everything....forgot milk icon_rolleyes.gif but that aside I was able to shop at my desk with tea in hand feeling and looking like sh*t and control the budget as I shopped. So whilst I missed out on any bargains it didn't take 2 hours, which it does if I visit allowing for driving time, so was well worth it .
It would have cost a lot more if I'd have got DH to go, he can get a bit carried away!

Having now had the basic handwash, shower gel and bubblebath all at the same time, I can confirm it is all the same product and the cheapest is the bubblebath at 2p per 100ml :D and they think I buy carex, rather just just refill the bottle with cheapie and a few drops of tea tree oil:rotfl:So thats handwash sorted till next year.
  • HI I know its late in the month but payday comes every 4 weeks so spending date changes every month!

£320 for November please! (13th november til 11th dec)

This is my 1st month where I have to stick to a budget as we start a DMP on 1/12/09. Normal allowance is £385, but I want to keep it a bit lower this month as we have had other bills come in.

    Thx TF xx

Afternoon everyone, sorry to hear lots of you and your kids have been unwell, we've all been poorly over the weekend too with some sickness bug, not nice but thankfully it only lasted 2days.
Just got back from sainsburys with my mid month top up shop. Spent £33 so i'm still on track for the month, although i'm tempted to pop to morrisons this week to check out there xmas offers - tins of sweets and crisps etc.
