Haven't posted for a few days as I have been busy as now working for 4 days a week and still feeling tired since the accident.
1. Managing to get washing dried on the line and on Tuesday arrived home just as it started to rain.
2. Having some lovely walks with my dog.
3. Using up stuff from my freezer.
4. Making more rhurbarb crumble ice cream.
5. Taking lunch into work every day0 -
Sparrer:
your poor daughter!
Village life: recipe for rhubarb crumble ice cream please! And do take things easy!
Well, dull, damp & chilly sums todays weather up I think. Got the heating on and I'm rather dreading the bills when they come in.
1.Up bright & early & off out to work bright & early. Got complimented on the work I had done yesterday so that was good. Had hoped to be out the door at 12......managed to go at 3pm! However, with very tasty cakesthat had been handed in!
2.DD2 had a sleepover at her friends & they are now back here playing games & laughing!
3.DD1 was supposed to be going shopping with her friends but it got cancelled....so I got my money back!
4.Getting a nice email from my SIL this morning with photos of my inlaws who are at hers for a holiday!
5. I think it will be bacon butties for tea as I seem to have a lot of bread to use up. That's what happens when you don't have pack lunches to make!
Hope you have a good one!

Morning
Ladyhawk - ((Hugs))
Sparrer - Ouch, hope your DD is OK
Well dont know if I will manage 5 for yesterday as I found the day very difficult. I think I seem to be grieving more now than I did 3 years ago. At the time I was so worried about my parents think I forgot to give myself time to accept what had happened.
Anyway some pleasures
1. Friends took me to the pub at lunch time to offer support and gossip.
2.Went to Inlaws new house after work as OH was doing some electrical work for them
3. MIL had taken a cooked chicken and some french bread with her for dinner so we got some chips from the chippy and all had a simple but nice dinner together.
4. Some washing line dried
Well thats about it for yesterday, hugs to all who need them0 -
Have not been on for a few days, OH has not been well.
1; Eating the first of my home grown tomatoes tasted great.
2; Washing on the line
3;Shepards Pie made for tea tonight
4; Finding some wool I had forgotten about so going to knit some scarfs
5; Sun is shining this morning
Sending positive thoughs to all who need them

Oooops, been AWOL for a few days again, sorreeee but life just takes over.
Here are some of the pleasures which have brightened my week.
1. Getting lots of washing dried on the line on Monday when the weather was hot and dry.
2. Having my disabled friend over on Tuesday and taking her out for a run.
3. Baking gluten free biscuits for my disabled friend which she loved.
4. Finishing the baby jacket I have knitted for a pressie.
5. Finishing altering my two summer dresses so that they now fit.

1. Similar to you re: iron, Ladyhawk - drove over to recuperate mobile, now safely back with me. Did a bit of work while there[until truck was away and building locked again]which luckily coincided with a chap bringing a boot full of magnificent curtains - and I know who'll buy them! Had I not been there, he would have gone away and dumped them, as public doors don't show anything at back of building. As it was, I had to unlock them and trolley everything back in.
2. Spent small time in B St E and found 2 books for mummy? to put in The Bag. Rang her en route back and we met up in CIPU. It was lovely to see her. Son is a beautiful boy; mummy?'s fortitude and knowledge and competence is humbling and extraordinary. She will say the fortitude sometimes crumbles [under barely credible, relentless onslaught, I would add] Son will be 7 on 21 July. Would anyone like to send wishes to him here? I would then copy and paste them onto a card to take in. She has Court again 27/7.
3. We shared cherries I'd bought at B St E market, making a game of son choosing for each year of Life, cheating for the nearly 7, then mummy?'s 44...which we then repeated for each hand :-)
4. My leaving to connect with last bus back for Park'n'Ride worked perfectly.
5. Re-jigged = reduced Water Bills going back to 2006 en route, entirely as a result of an excellent AW lady picking up on a chance remark I had made, when asking about sth last week. I had sent letters and pics 3 times re:storm water drainage as a result of sth in village mag and had assumed reduction had been applied. It hadn't been: it will be now:T. I have last remit of info in MS - 16 Aprill 2006 - but cannot seem to extract it. LG took it upon herself to raise this through her Supervisor and have it backdated.
6.of 5, as usual:-) Finished Norman Lindsay's 'The Cautious Amorist' v. early this a.m., with slightly contrapuntal R3 accompaniment- very much recommended. Googled here[a rather brilliant man and polymath, not to say something of an amorist himself. Stanley Spencer and Larkin both come to mind]:

7. Thanks caterina - I like the bitter kick of leaves[endive radicchio etc.] so will prob use cru.
8. Over 2 hrs with NZ Uncle and Aunt after yesterday's post and am so glad they sounded in cracking form, in their 80's. A probably impossible plan forms. . . . .
9. More early chuck-down rain just now, but yesterday's washing in just before another lot began, and rubbish out earlier ditto.
10. Play something for us, Ms R, but it must be your own composition this time:T[bossies SWMBO in heavy metaphor overdrive]. You're doing well. Variety of diversion and distraction are your reliable, excellent helpmeets right now. I'm so glad you have the boys, forthcoming work on house, family, many friends, GSM, a dependable place/sanctuary to reflect in or let your mind go where it will and - always - your music, let alone your Library copies of Fred Vargas' books.....:D Hmm, have I mentioned these already[a few times?] There is a Lady Chapel I used to visit, too.
11. Relieved to see you post, sparrer. Had my own brush/crush with concrete paving slab nearly 4 years ago and know what they do. Best thoughts for all skills to be brilliantly deployed for your DD today. I'm afraid I didn't buy the crude cake of olive oil soap in charity shop hier - 2" sq, priced at £1.90. . . .
This, from your post, is worth highlighting/repeating for Frith:
'...you have to sort a lot of chaff before you get to the wheat.'

I saw the crude post Ampersand, no idea why he had to post it here! What a sad person if that is all he has time to do!0

Hugs to Ladyhawk, Tealady, Sparrer's daughter and everyone else who would like one, hope today is a better day x
Yesterday's goodies:
1. Glass of wine with my lovely friend
2. Took neighbour's son to school, good to be able to repay the help I gratefully receive
3. Work was better than anticipated, had a good laugh with my lovely boss about the antics of the not so lovely people I support
4. Took out some excellent books from the library and had a very early night snuggled up in bed
5. DD and I played Uno - she's a demon at it
6. OH agreed to DD's voicemail request to come swimming with us this afternoon, we can't wait! He's always been a bit ambivalent when I suggest we go swimming, maybe because of his walking issues, but DD is winning him round, and I'll be on hand to help with getting in and out.
7. Had a great time at the school I volunteer at, the children are fabulous and I'm going to miss them so much when they move up in September. Feel like I have a really good bond with them, must make plans for the last lesson of term, maybe cakes will be in order again
8. Bought OH some reduced but still nice-looking meat for his dinner tonight. Not sure what to cook with mince, but guess I just do a meaty version of what DD and I have veggie of, lol. Hope he appreciates how much I love him, buying meat after 6 years (when exhub left), but pretty sure he does
9. Security guard at work arranged for me to have additional access to our building as I've been struggling with the nasty stairs recently.
10. Nice chat with the librarian
Today is shaping up to be a fabulous day already0 -
bellaquidsin - would you be able to share the gluten-free biscuit recipe please? I've made GF/vegan cakes but not biscuits, and if you have a tasty one, I'm sure OH would be grateful0
