It has been warm but it's cooler today so I hoped he'd pick up - maybe it's just taking him a while to recover. As for mice - the only variety he knows how to catch are the toy ones! ;)

If he's no better tomorrow I think it will be off to the v-e-t, for which neither the cat nor my purse will thank me!
Male cats are notoriously lazy - they would have you chew their food for them if they could. Have you tried tempting him with something different to his usual food?

Its no wonder they hate the v-e-t...you go in and before you know it they shove a thermometer where the sun don't shine...no even a scratch of the ears as in intro :D
As my dad always used to say 'Just because you've got the money doesn't mean to say you have to spend it all at once'

    (((FRITH)))

    Yesterday's delights:

    1. The look on DD's face when she saw me in the crowds of parents at sports day :):):)
    2. She came 2nd in her sprint (out of 8, good girl!)
    3. I had such a lovely phone call with a helpful man at the ROH Disabled booking line, who helped us buy tickets at a greatly reduced price for me, DD and OH to go and see The Nutcracker at Christmas!! That's DD's "big" present sorted, I can now say she is ticked off for Christmas presents - is that immensely sad that I'm organised or should I be patting myself on the back that I've bought her lots of presents that I think she will love by July, courtesy of the sales, special offers etc??
    4. Feeling happy that OH and I can plan as far ahead as December! We even chatted about potential New Year's plans!!
    5. Went to a local play place with the Rainbows and thankfully the rain held off until we were having our picnic tea inside, so they all got to run around and go crazy on the outdoor play things.
    6. Quite a spend-y day, as I also went out for lunch with a friend which was overpriced for what it was....but it was nice to do something out of the ordinary. Will need to rein myself in now, apart from Saturday night when I'm out on the lash....oops! ;)
    7. Made OH and I a lovely dinner that makes the 'Butterflies' moment of last week a fast-fading memory :)

    Morning from a sleepy Tealady

(((Frith))) - Just seconding what others have said, the man is not worth it you are so much better than that

    Pleasures for yesterday;
    1. Half day at work
    2. A Friend drove us all to Wembley in her car, she was going to do it for free but we all put a £5 in for petrol. Still cheaper than the train and not as crowded
    3. Fantastic night out at Take That, it was a very good show and all the girls I was with really enjoyed it. There was one sad moment when Robbie sang Angels and asked us to sing it for people we have lost recently, my friend lost her husband just under a year ago so she got very upset and today is the 3rd anniversary of my brother going but the pleasure is we were all able to give each other a hug and know that people cared about us.
    4. Managing to stay dry as we got some seats under the covered part of wembley
    5. OH staying awake to say hello and give me a cuddle when I got in as he had guessed that I may have been a bit down

Hope all you poorlies are feeling better & hugs to all who need them

Kittikins: you are wonderfully organised ....like me! I'm all done & wrapped! We will bring our UK gifts over in September & leave them with people, I even have a couple of 2012 birthday gifts to leave! The price of posting overseas is extortionate & I'd rather spend more on the gift (or not!) than on the postage. So yeah! to being so organised!

Been a chilly day & is now pouring with rain!

1.Early to work again. I like working at that time....I am more of a morning person. Much better day than yesterday!....everything ran smooooothly!
2.Home & tidied up.....again but enjoying it just being lunchtime & having the rest of the day still to enjoy!
3.Took DD2 & her friend 10 pin bowling. She had a free voucher for 2 games from her birthday party.
4.Reading my book! I have been reading this book for bloomin' ages! But when I read a few pages at bedtime my eyes are just about closing.
5.My sister & I chatting on skype! She is on holiday so we can chat at a decent time for both of us!

    Have a good day!

    Good morning all -

re: Kittikins' reference to Butterflies moment. Oh yes, those were good telly times. Only recently did I learn Wendy Craig had a John Mortimer child. There's a good JM biog. in Poundland atm. And perhaps for Frith, just saw this from him:
'But he said the law gave him great insights. 'People will go to endless trouble to divorce one person and then marry someone who is exactly the same, except probably a bit poorer and a bit nastier. I don't think anybody learns anything.'

You, Ms R, are an exception, as befits an exceptional woman, whose great strength has already been many times proven. Remember your previous DEBT FREE signature? Why not add that to your current one?

I, for one, think you should, with the sum, so you see it every time you post.

You certainly contributed HANDSOMELY in moneysaving and in kind to Mrs N's car payments.

How about a little Pergolesi on your violin? My challenge)))!

    1. This will not read as a Correct pleasure. But how I am quietly revelling in 'At last! At last!' moments re: News International and the self-made swillsink they are thrashing in.

    2. Chaotic day at Charity yesterday[and I'm hoping I left my phone there] as a truck hired for 4 days comes 2 weeks early to start clearing stock to next premises. However, many kind words from lovely supporters who loved Carrot Cake and accepted the Invitation slips for cake/thankyou next week. Somehow we will get there.

    3. Petrol was down at Mr T - 130.9, as opposed to 135.9 last week. Hoorah for the within-3-mles-Asda, which Mr T policy dictates they must match or better.

    4. Heavy rain on way back, during which I remember that a blanket is outside on lounger. Never mind. Happy garden - and I recall wise words read years ago for new parents: Remember, wet dries and mud brushes off. Washing out this morning, should dry before next rain band, forecast for this afternoon.

    5. Trailer was laden yesterday but everything within, plus crates covered in garden, still look dry, thank goodness. Fair is soon now, too soon - it's hard to prep. in dodgy weather. Vehicle Pass etc. arrived, so read through and edginess increases. I know I'll never get everything out, or quickly enough.
On verra. I know I'm like this every time.

    6. Suddenly think I will ring NZ Uncle.

    A good day to everyone:-)

    Morning all.

Just a couple of (very) early pleasures for today:

    1) Being woken up at half past four by a purring, hungry cat, which was quite a relief. :) He's still not completely better, but is definitely looking perkier than he did last night.

    2) Getting into the office 5 minutes before the heavens opened - even an umbrella wouldn't have kept me dry in that lot!

I'll be back with more later, at my usual time. Have a good day, everyone!
Back after a very long break!

Good morning, a lovely morning already full with blessings:

1 - Early start of the day 6am

2 - Beans for homemade baked beans and chick peas for stews and hummus already cooked

3 - 1 lot of laundry already done

4 - Greens omelette for family breakfast (greens from garden-grown radishes)

5 - The first crop of runner beans for tonight dinner is ready

6 - Going to the allotment to "shop" for courgettes and onions

    Have a blessings-filled day everybody x
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

A quickie please caterina - whilst chatting to NZ just now, idled outside and pulled at some lush dandelion leaves amid the strawbs. Surely I can use these as !!!!enlit for salad?
