3.Popped out to shopping centre in next town & got my lost property back! Hurrah!
4.Saw jonquils growing in a garden. I bought a bunch last week (RTC) and the smell from them was gorgeous.

Evening all
sparrer & broomstick - hope you both get well very soon.
Unfortunately I think there might be something going about. Before I'd even opened my eyes on Sunday i could feel the room spinning. I've been feeling light headed ever since - not too sure if it's vertigo or my blood pressure has dropped
1) Very relaxed day at work
2) Lovely sunny day
3) Getting in touch with someone I haven't seen for nearly twenty years- he was one of my inspirations for becoming an engineer
4) Some flirty texts from the above;)
5) Just a generally feeling of being relaxed and happy - certainly something that I wouldn't have felt about two months ago
Hope you all had a good day. Hugs to those that need them
C xAs my dad always used to say 'Just because you've got the money doesn't mean to say you have to spend it all at once'0 -
1. Did a Reverbe and found 2p on the pavement
2. NSD
3. NPD
4. Lovely drink and chat with a friend today
5. On the spur of the moment, we invited one of DD's friends over for tea this afternoon; the girls played together beautifully and it was lovely to hear DD giggling so much
6. Looked after a lovely friend's toddler for an hour or so, she's such a cutie
7. Getting excited about our holiday later this month, as the cottage owner sent us directions and some more photos
8. My lovely parents are looking after DD this weekend for me as I have a girly chum coming down and plans to go out on the tiles *hic*
9. Caught up with the washing and got it all dry on the line
10. Silly texts with OH whilst watching University Challenge at the moment0 -
Evening all.
As I ran out of time to post my pleasures yesterday evening, here's two day's worth:
Yesterday:
1) Lie-in.
2) Chatting to my DF on the phone, as a result of which I've gone from having no ideas what to wear to a fancy dress party to having several.
3) Watching the tennis...
4) ... with a glass of apple juice and a packet of Approved Foods chilli peanuts.
5) Pub quiz in the evening, which we won: given the number of police cars zooming past outside, the pub was probably the safest place to be, too!
Today:
1) My new watch arrived before I left the house so I could wear it to work.
2) Getting home to find that someone - presumably one of the kids who live in my building - has decorated the raised border outside my flat with seashells from the beach. I wish I knew who it was so I could tell them how much I like their handiwork.
3) A purry greeting from the mog when I got home - he's been a bit subdued for the last day or so and I was getting a bit worried, but he can't be that ill if he can still purr and try to eat my fingers.
4) Finally identifying the mystery bird I keep hearing singing in my garden - it's a song thrush, and it might even have a nest in the holly tree as I saw it carrying a caterpillar into the branches. :j
5) Loads of swifts screaming round the rooftops this evening - it's my favourite summer sound.
6) My courgette plant which I thought had been fatally munched by snails has flowers on it. :j
Carolyntia / sparrer / Broomstick - get well now, all of you!Back after a very long break!0 -
Evening all,
I have had a grumpy day. The project that I so desperately want to work on but was taken way from me:mad: (no reflection on ability... apparently...)... anyway the man that now managing it now needs my help... hmm... funny that.
1) Sent off my CV for the job in Oz. Fingers crossed.
2) Quick drink with a my lovely friend L after work  (well... I snuck early to meet her)
3) HM tortilla wraps for lunch and dinner... yum!
4) Worked in the London office this afternoon... popped up to see some of my friends... they are always so friendly and nice to deal with.
5) The colleague that I gave the evening dress to a couple of weeks ago brought me a nice stripey top from France to say thank you. She really didn't need to but it was a lovely gesture.
Have a great evening
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
Evening
Pleasures for today,
1. Someone at work gave me a box of chocolates as a thank you for helping her. She had really wound me up last week being very rude so this was a suprise.
2. Both OH and me took breakfast and lunch with us today. DD had no school today so no need to make her lunch.
3. Bought a present for cousins new baby and managed to get it half price
4. Tasty dinner using up more things out of freezer
5. More washing line dried and some ironing done before work
Hugs to all who need them0 -
Hugs Ladyhawk, hate it when that happens, grrrr to the person who now needs your help. Hope tomorrow is a better day x0
-
Ladyhawk - big hugs from me too....I know exactly how you feel but try to rise above it.As my dad always used to say 'Just because you've got the money doesn't mean to say you have to spend it all at once'0
