Evening all
Blimus - Good to see you again - I hope you're looking after sunny Norfolk for me
Ladyhawk - Good luck on your application - you've reminded me that I've applied for an international assignment - just need to send off my CV
1) Fantastically sunny day - warm enough for me to take my fleece off
2) Quite a few yellow sticky bargains in Asda
3) Sitting out in the garden and actually getting a bit of a tan at last
4) Left over baked beans for lunch
5) Yellow sticky pork chop for dinner
6) Having all the windows open and getting some fresh air through the place
7) Chat with friend on Skype
Hope you all had a good day. Hugs to those that need them
C xAs my dad always used to say 'Just because you've got the money doesn't mean to say you have to spend it all at once'0 -
1. DD did her second Reverbe of the weekend and found 5p to go with the 2p she found yesterday, my girl has eagle-eyes!!
2. OH gave her £1 to celebrate winning the procession yesterday, she's in the money )
3. Used a moc towards a magazine with free lipstick - bit naughty as OH's mum gave me a pile of magazines yesterday.....
4. Treated DD to a children's magazine - can you tell we're just past payday and I'm feeling flush?!??
5. Treated myself to a pair of white cropped yoga pants in the sale, £4 so not too horrendous
6. Impromptu trip to the swimming pool - yup, had to buy DD a costume, as my stuff was already in the car, but we went to a different pool and had a fantastic time; it was worth getting her another, and we shared my towel, so less washing to do tonight, lol.
7. Friend texted me to say that our joint effort in the village cuckoo in the nest competition was the winning entry!!
oooh just remembered another couple:
8. OH's mum gave us a lovely home-grown courgette, just short of a marrow, nomnomnom0 -
1. Right now, David Walliams on R4X has chosen Nick Cave's exquisite love song 'Into My Arms' on DID Revisited. This is darkly bittersweet....must not let mind go there.
It's a good, good programme this time - not all guests come across so well. He's articulate, expressive and lovely. Moi = phan!
2. Long Skype with D in NZ.
3. Twice lost, then found car keys. Big day of starting to organise for next Sunday's Antiques Fair. Crates and bubble wrap and hopeless sorting/deciding. BUT, in so doing, discovered long-lost[months] car mobile charger adaptor...the little 1" extra pin thing that fits into the stem for my phone. I had refused to spend another £14 to replace it.
4. Well, Rafa lost and it saddens me. He did not play as well as he has done up till now, but one can only play as well as opponent permits. But his unforced error count came from nowhere......next year Rafa. Covered some dustjackets in inert acid-free cellophane for Fair book stock.
5. Phoned L. to confirm tomorrow's extra day at Charity Showroom, for us to get a head start on sorting/clearing. It's now cancelled. One of our residents needs help moving instead. I say 'Thank goodness' as I desperately need the time [which won't be disrupted by total immersion in wimbo.]
Glad to see you back, blimus. I was wondering about you and marmite this morning.
Hope you've had a day of more ups than downs, Ms R, or at least copable and steady.
6. Oh, forgot a reverbe 10p in Library yesterday.
Think I want bed and book now....bonne nuit donc.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Today has been a funny sort of one. I was sick last night (I know I didn't need to share that) and slept in this morning. I only changed out of my jamas mid afternoon.
My five pleasures for Sunday:
1. Being around the DSs all day.
2. Clean, ironed clothes to wear when I eventually got dressed.
3. Lots of toast which is all I felt like eating.
4. Watching a ballet programme on iplayer.
5. Phone call with a friend.
Sweet dreams

5. My 7 day skin care free sample came from Garnier (take care!!)What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0
-
Ampersand - I am a Nick Cave fan and had a massive poster on my wall of him when I was at Uni - I still miss it! I had all his albums at one point as well.
5 or so for today (Sunday).
1) 12.5 hours sleep last night.
2) Quiet morning with just smaller son.
3) Cracked on with jobs - changed my bed, did 2 loads of washing, tidied, cleaned the bathroom and swept and tidied in the garden.
4) Went to Sainsburys this afternoon (with sons) so have plenty in for their lunchboxes next week and our dinners.
5) School friend came over for tea and has just left.
So that's about it for today. Just a quiet day of getting things done. MrN is back from the weekend away but I haven't seen anything of him except his back as he went through his gate. Quite strange to think of him sitting reading in bed, presumably completely unperturbed at what he has done.0 -
Sleep is all over the place as not feeling my best (only 99.9%) so a late Sunday post
1. The weather, still good. No-one should complain about this Spring though I've already heard some people do so. How short their memories are
2. Bought good quality 4 pillows, pillow protectors, mattress protector and set of towels for my shiney new guest room for £11. The shop was closing down today.
3. Good lunchtime meeting with usual 'free' food - everyone donates something so there's always a good spread
4. Heard today that my niece is getting married in Oct, grateful for the invitation and 3 months notice, so I can work toward dropping a dress size by then
5. My tumbling toms have at last produced a few flowers
Sleep well

Vjs its actually a 14 day day time only trial but tbh the samples are so genuine have been having enough in the sachet to do for night cream too.. doesnt have any effect on wrinkles but great freebie and v generous
LOL I really should read more closely. I did, however, think that there was enough for 14 days in there. No i am not sold on the "it'll reduce your wrinkles" line anyway (not that i have many - on the ridiculous "wrinkle measure / counter" thing i was a 2 - and i am 75 :rotfl: - Nah not really, late 40's (ouch, that hurt!)
Mine for yesterday
1. Seeing how well small niece and nephew are adjusting to life without their dad (BIL committed suicide last year)
2. Spending time with SIL and trying to help her as much as poss (the woman has no idea about money, an insurance policy on BIL has left her a little flush but she is a single mum on benefits and seems to think she can join a £70 a month gym)
3. Baking yesterday morning produced banana bread, jammie oaty biscuits as well as the roast pork lunch and sticky toffee pudding we had.
4. Bike ride with the OH after they'd all gone home
5. Finished the back of my winter chunky knit cardi, started a sleeve.
GOing for a run in a bit as i am supposed to be doing the great north run in September and can't do more than a couple of miles yet. Have a good day everyone.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Evening
Pleasures for yesterday;
1. Lie in
2. Lots of washing line dried
3. OH being in a better mood. He didn't go to Wimbledon with us as said he had back ache think it was more @r$e ache
4. Using up more freezer food for dinner. We had burgers tonight.
5. Another 1/2 hour in the garden. The garden waste bin is now full to bursting so will have to wait until Wednesday to do more.
6. My cousin had a healthy baby boy on Friday. She has had a horrendus time lately with her eldest so pleased something good is happening for her.
Hugs to all who need them0
