Mine for today ( I am resolutely glossing over the fact that i have saved money in not buying a take that ticket i was offered, because it was for tonight and couldn't go at such short notice :( I would much rather have gone)

    SO, on the positives.

    1. A very productive day at work, and i sat thro a meeting and for once kept my mouth shut
    2. Nice cheese salad for lunch = largely with homegrown salad
    3. OH came home from his few days away
    4. Predicted bad traffic around work because of Take That concert was all going the opposite way and so i wasn't held up
    5. Pleased at how well the chunky jacket / cardi i am knitting is growing. Back is more than half done.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Erm, oh dear, Ampersand. I don't think you will be in favour of my behaviour this evening. :(:o

    Anyway, 5 for today!

    1) Boys in a chirpy mood this morning. I am very lucky that they both like school so much.

    2) Went round to neighbours (not MrN!) and she looked after me until I had pulled myself together (see earlier post).

    3) Got organised. Paperwork, phone calls etc.

    4) Changed my surname back by deed poll.

    5) Had a long chat on the phone with a good friend.

    6) Went to see dad and brother for a cup of tea. Brother has mended my broom (put the handle back on) and I went to collect it then drove off without it! Brother will be at Wimbledon tomorrow so I'll be keeping an eye out for him - he was on TV last year!

    7) After school I played on the Wii with smaller son.

    8) Tasty tea - meatballs and spaghetti.

    9) Picked raspberries at dad's for the freezer.

    10) Walked to the local pub and back.

    11) Made a half decent job of painting my toe nails so they are now the metallic purple colour of the tin foil that used to be wrapped around Dairy Milk. :)

And then, at 11pm, MrN texted. I texted last night that I didn't want "a break" and that he could stay or go, but going would be permanent. So he replied that he doesn't want to see me anymore. :( His wife has gone away again and he texted that he is not getting back together with her.

I went round my house and got all his stuff together - some mugs, bits and pieces. Then I collected all the stuff he had ever given me which in nearly a year amounted to one blanket and 2 cards. (!) I had kept every single note he had ever written (even stuff like "please let the dogs out") so I got those too. And a hoover. I went round and threw it on his patio as noisily as possible (apart from the mugs). I then demanded he give me back the spare key to my house. And - he still didn't look bothered in the slightest. :( I shouted a few things about I couldn't believe he had treated us like this when he knew what we had been through and he was pathetic for dumping me by text. :(

Then I found quite a lot of piano music of his and a few books and I had got fed up of opening his gate during my numerous trips so I chucked it over the gate (6 foot high) - it's surprising how books and music fly when propelled vigorously!

The only bit that gets me is that he looked like he didn't care. But he always looked like that. I feel a bit jittery now but it's a whole lot better than constantly wondering what I was doing wrong (he never did tell me).

(((Frith))) just to add my thoughts to the others, Mr N really isn't worthy of your texts etc, so wouldn't waste your time/money on him. You'll find the right person when you're least expecting it, not someone who acts like a spoilt child.
Welcome MrsB, it's a great place to be :D
Carolyntia good luck for your DM's move tomorrow
frugalpam very sensible and not morbid at all to get your will sorted now. I've just left some green funeral brochures with DD so she can have a browse, then we'll discuss together which to go for. Definitely a carboard 'box' and as cheap as poss!
Tealady well done your DD for sitting the exam, that a great feat in itself so respect to her

    1. Unike ampersand we only had 3 claps of thunder and 2 flashes of lightning, but oh, did that first one CCCCCCRACK  and make me jump out of my skin! I was cutting down a huge nettle ar the time (where did that appear from so quickly?) and my neighbour laughed so much at my expression he could hardly breathe  ;) . The rain brought a lovely fresh smell so I was happy to leave the door open for a while
    2nsd
    3. Cleaned out the cleaning cupboard where the cold mains tap is, so the plumber can get to it when he installs the outside tap on Friday. I'm amazed at what I found in there, 9 pairs kitchen gloves, 27!!! low watt lightbulbs (all free from the power co etc), a basket full of dusters, kitchen cloths, scourers etc., 3 tins polish, 4 bottles w/u liquid and 4 bags of soda crystals, all bought when I see it on offer. Does this mean I don't do enough housework?! :o
    4. Finished up the last of a curry made with left over sauce from a take away, there always seems to be a lot so I freeze it for another time. Added a few veggies and a couple of slices of chicken, which made 4 meals for a just few pence
    5. Piers Morgans Don't You Know Who I Am? A super pick up, put down book

    Night night, sweet dreams
    S x

eta Frith YOU didn't do anything wrong, there are some people who just use others and that's what Mr N has been doing. Understand you feeling jittery but am so pleased it's made you feel better. Tomorrow (today!) is the first day of the rest of your life, it's going to be a really good one :D x

    (((Frith)))

    1. OH agreed politely that I'm Wendy Craig to his Geoffrey Palmer (anyone else remember Butterflies? :) ) when I served him up a flipping awful dinner of "fish curry".....love that man!! He manfully chomped some and said it wasn't that bad, and then when DD (who had had a perfectly nice, but not gluten free dinner, sensible girl :) ) asked for some cheese and g-f crackers, he cracked and said yes please....
    2. Had fun at Rainbows with DD and the others :)
    3. OH and I shared a lovely bottle of wine with our meal
    4. Plucked up the courage to tell my lovely boss how stressed I've been feeling recently with more and more work being dumped on me by an ever-expanding team I help with and he was fabulous and we're going to work on a strategy to redefine my role and he's said he'll call anyone who is rude/oversteps the boundary and tell them off, I just need to say the word!! How nice is that?!
    5. Spent the whole day feeling like a weight was lifted off my shoulders having done the exam yesterday.

Frith: go girl! Hope you're feeling a bit brighter today. Onwards & upwards. But take care & be kind and true to yourself x
MrsB:hello, this is a lovely place to come & visit! I 'arrived '6 months ago and it has really helped me look for good but simple things in life!

1.Frosty start to the day, had to scrape my car first thing. It was 3oc at 8am. However it turned into a beautiful day, blue sky & warm (ish) sunshine. I had such a great drive to work, music blaring & I was singing at the top of my voice. I felt so happy this morning & that was a wonderful way to feel.

    2.Good day at work.

3.Home via Salvos ,where I got a few 'new to me' clothes! 2 pairs of trousers, 1 skirt, 1 top, a brand new ' fat face' bag with tags for DD1 & a lovely dress for DD2 and a set of place mats & napkins too! So quite chuffed with my bargains.

    4. Then went to supermarket for milk......got 2 bags of fruit for $2, was just going out of shop when it came over tannoy, honestly it's like a rugby scrum! However, I got loads of apples, satsumas, pears and a bunch of rhubarb, (which it's original price was $5 )so quite happy with my haul. Also got croissants 1/2 price. 12 croissants cost $10 this is 6pounds 60p, which is so expensive for bloomin' croissants don't you think. So again, happy to get them for $5. These will get sliced & frozen for pack lunches.

    5. DD2 has came home with her school report. It is better than I had anticipated! I don't mean that badly but she has skipped an academic year the way the entry dates work & I know she hasn't found this easy. However, her report indicates that she is coping with most of the workload. All teachers remarked on her positive attitude.
So well done to my wee baby who is growing up !

So I have really had a lovely day! Was watching the ducks on the lake on way in to work this morning, flying then skidding onto the water, they kept doing this over & over and it was funny! Then on way out saw a baby birdie on lake but not sure what it was but it made me smile!

I hope you all have a lovely day!

    Evening all.

For yesterday (visiting West Dean gardens with my DM):
    1) Sitting outside under a giant awning watching a huge thunderstorm up on the downs.
    2) DM and I managed to have a good look at the gardens, in between thundery downpours.
    3) Found a very pretty, cheap silver bracelet in the gift shop: I don't mind buying from organisations like this where the profits go towards maintaining the site.
    4) Managed to get down to the bus stop and on the bus before it started raining again.
    5) Dinner out, and cheaper than expected thanks to a voucher downloaded from this site. :money:

    Today:
    1) A lie-in this morning, the last one for a couple of days as I'm back at work tomorrow. :(
    2) Received my first batch of Co-op reward vouchers.
    3) Got a batch of washing out on the line at lunchtime and it's dry already. :)
    4) Watching the Federer match this afternoon - very exciting!
    5) Made a big batch of chilli con carne for dinner, enough for at least 4 meals.

    Have a good evening, all.
Back after a very long break!
