It's been wet and dull up here hasn't it Carolynitia!!!
Way too wet and dull for my liking.......I need heeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaattt!!! I even had to go for a bath to warm up!:oAs my dad always used to say 'Just because you've got the money doesn't mean to say you have to spend it all at once'0 -
1. The exam was ok to good....I think I've done enough to pass
THANK YOU for all the crossed fingers and well wishes xx
2. Nice couple of glasses of Pimm's with a friend this evening
3. YS bread in the Mr T's
4. A lovely lady gave me her 5p off a per litre of fuel voucher, will come in very handy
5. Lovely texts with OH today0 -
Evening all,
1. The Murray/Gasquet match is on i-player, so I'm listening, rather than watching but I'll correct that as soon as I've done here.
2. Carrot and coriander soup tastes lovely. Big chicken/prawn/mushroom pie done for Charity munch demain, also Choc Ginger Chews and a fruity strudel-style thing is half-way done. but smelling excellent.
3. Charged out full of murderous mission [no, I'm not apologising for this] to buy rat dispatch various. Expensive[nearly £40 all up] but necessary and I know the campaign must be multi-fronted. So, have seen it come out in gloaming, sniff and scoff immediately from 3 points. I am hopeful. Add 2 h/d traps and an enclosed bait box to the open plates of choc spread with embedded blue wheat and I think I have a chance. Wrote on original query Thread that I, too, am Rat, but not sufficiently fellow to accept him here.
4. In town, also dropped frame in for the Richard Beer aquatint etching. J. says it will be very good, enhancing: I think so, too. I much appreciate that he knows my means are tiny and will accept my £1[in this case]frame and work on it. 3 other things were ready and look so much better than I can ever anticipate. One's a keeper: an old map of old France, v. sustaining. J put an entirely new frame around it, having said at once that he splintered my original, which was a cheap and nasty thing which needed replacing anyway. I will take him a good bot when I'm next in. I now cherish my luck at having found someone who can do this work for me in full understanding and empathy. When I moved, I 'lost' my previous person for this...they are gold-dust and I am intensely loyal to anyone like this.
5. I have come through 6 months, not unbloodied, not even unbowed, but I am still here.
##############
Ladyhawk, I love the linky.
Kittikins - how did you feel the exam went?
Sorry Carolyntia - even though I'm not going to trust the washing out o/n ce soir, I've just popped it on airer, confident that it will dry inside, so balmy warm is it still, despite late showers and thunder.
Right now - i-player wimbo now.
Quiet minds and peaceful hearts partout tonight.

ampersand we really must arrange a get-together. I'm applying for a bus pass as my friend who has one has been pressing me to do so, then we can bus to Cambridge for a day out, and meet up.
1. the weather. Sorry for everyone who didn't see the sun, hope it brightens up for you soon
2. nsd
3. first time back to pulm rehab class, good to see everyone
4. arranged to take DGD2 to orthodontist on Weds, then out to lunch with her and DD
5. Ex OH had his op this pm. When I phoned he told me, in rather a sad voice, that he'd had some shocking news...every illness under the sun went through my head in seconds. He paused to let the info sink in so I said don't keep anything from me, all the while thinking how do I break bad news to the children. He replied, in a low, whispery very dramatic voice, that he's been told can't drive for a month . If he thinks I'm going all the way down to Devon to get his shopping for him he can think again :mad::mad: Grrrrr
Sweet dreams

Five for today
- Car needs a new clutch, finally packed up over the weekend. Although not very OS:eek: decided to take it to a garage that specialises in my make of car. They also checked through the long list of things another garage, who recently serviced it, had said needed doing. Their opinion is that only two of the things need doing and they can both be done whilst the clutch is being replaced. So I need to spend alot less than I thought, and they have given me a lovely courtesy car for free:)
- No one noticed my DD had cut alot of her hair off at the weekend, trying to free it from a hairbrush. She was pleased that my skillfull ponytail/comb over combination had worked!! Now just need to wait about 6 monthes for the short bit to grow back, but it will save on hairdressers!:)
- Very productive day at work, which after a very up and down, emotional weekend was good. At least I managed to focus and it helped to take my mind off things.
- Someone has filled up the biscuit tin at work:jand they are chocolate chip.
- Good chat with DS tonight, about life and all that, really appreciate the fact that he is still the age where he wants to talk..Hope it never changes.

Just got in from picking up DD from work experience - only she could arrange something that finishes at 10.30 on a night when OH is away.
1. Getting more sorted in house and cleared a couple of areas not looked at in a long time.
2. Lovely bike ride with friend and god daughter.
3, Sitting down in the afternoon watching TV with DD and doing my knitting - very decadent.
4. Waving DD off on her train going to work experience, the first time she has caught a train on her own and she was so confident.
5. The return of I'm sorry i haven't a clue on Radio 4I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
A better day today thought I would leave phoning M in law until tomorrow.
Kittikins - pleased exam went ok.
1. A NSD
2. Washing dried on line including a duvet I washed.
3. Watching wimbledon
4. Easy salad and gammon for tea and enough left for lunch at work.
5. Enjoying the water I am making myself drink0 -
was a foggy start but brightened into a nice day.
1. was starting slightly later again, so enjoyed a walk to school with DD2 instead of dropping off en-route. It was cold & damp but I enjoyed my walk home. Saw lots of lovely flowers & heard beautiful birds
2.good day at work & payday! Hurrah!
3.Finished earlier than usual & had a nice drive home. Had 30 minutes to myself before kids came in so enjoyed a slice of lemon drizzle cake & some peace & quiet.
4.DD2 had a free tutoring session from a retired teacher at the library. I sat & enjoyed another glossy magazine.
5.Chips for tea! Chip shop is just across from library ,huge portions for not too much money!
Got my quarterly water bill in today:( think all my sneaky baths have been adding up! Will need to go back to one a week instead of 2 & 4 minute showers only. This was my highest bill so far!0 -
Just a quick pleasure as things really are quite pants chez Frith but have managed to cheer myself up no end!
Have just changed my surname back to my maiden name by deed poll! :T:rotfl::j
I'm amazed how much difference it has made already.Just got to wait for it to come through the post then I can change my name at the bank etc.
The pants bit of the day was coming back from the school run and, with no sons to distract me, thinking of MrN and bursting into tears in the car.I seem to be doing rather a lot of that these last few days. I stumbled out of the car in front of the school bus (very delayed for some reason) which had 3 of MrN's sons on it.
:(:(
So I made a run for it and bumped into MrN's neighbour (who lives on the other side of his house) and that was even more embarrassing because I don't know her very well at all.She sort of manhandled me into her house and she is basically friend number 10 who has told me he is a deadloss.
His wife is back. Don't even get me started on that.:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(
He told me last night he thinks he might want a break. I told him I couldn't cope with a break, he can stay or he can go. But going would be permanent. Still waiting for an answer to that. Presumbably his wife is distracting him from thinking about it.0 -
Frith - Hugs to you. This must be so hard for you but you are worth so much more than this. You have come through so much and made a great life for you and your boys. You really do deserve so much more.0
