    happy birthday to CCP!!!:bdaycake:

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

Now - really - what sort of boyfriend doesn't do a single thing for his girlfriend's birthday? Am I being oversensitive?? He lives 2 metres away!

So MrN has had his chips. :-)
Sorry to hear this but my partner doesnt do any Bday or Xmas.. or any other time really. But to be fair Mr N only lives next door doesnt he?? My partner lives hundreds of miles away.

I was about to post why are you texting him etc..if you want answers I'd knock on his next door when you know he is in..He cannot avoid you when you are face to face

Reverbe - if only it were just the birthday thing... This came at the end of an extremely miserable 6 weeks. I have tried talking, following up talking with a text in case I wasn't making sense...

Have run out of ideas and (finally) run out of enthusiasm. :-(

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
    Afternoon all.

Thanks very much for all the birthday wishes. :)

It's been a funny old day in Portsmouth - while the rest of the country was bathed in sunshine, Pompey's been bathed in fog - the sun only came out here about two hours ago.

    1) The fog horn sounding continuously for most of the day - I can't tell you why I like the noise, but I do.

    2) My favourite breakfast - HM bread with avocado and smoked salmon.

    3) My sister phoning to tell me that one of my entrants in the duck race sank within a foot of the starting line. We were far more proud of that than if we'd sponsored the winning duck! :rotfl:

    4) Went to the garden centre to get some grow bags and managed to come back without a single rescue plant from the RTC shelf - that's a first for me! :o

    5) Got the larger tomato plants potted up in grow bags, and it now just remains to see what they are. (They were ones from the plant stall which didn't sell as they'd lost their labels - it looks like I've got three different varieties but I haven't a clue what they actually are!)

    6) It looks like my planned trip to the pub quiz tonight will be cancelled as no-one else can make it. (That's not as rude as it sounds - no-one in our group really does birthdays, and I doubt anyone knows it's mine today.) Obviously I'd have liked to see my friends, but I must admit that an evening in my garden with a glass or two of wine, rather than sitting in a hot, stuffy pub, does sound like the more attractive option. ;)

    Have a lovely evening all.
Back after a very long break!

Happy birthday dear CCP, hope you're enjoying the sunshine :)

Frith - hugs, MrN is a total loser, and glad you had a good birthday, June is a lovely month for a birthday, my brother's is soon (hmm, hope he doesn't want a present for a while......!)

    1. Lovely morning with DD and OH; they got up and watched TV, OH gave DD some breakfast and let me go back to bed for a bit as my leg has been achey and making me tired, so I felt much better when I came down later :)
    2. DD had a lovely time helping OH's dad with some gardening when we dropped OH back home, he's fast becoming like a second grandad :)
    3. Made DD and I a picnic and decided to go to the nearest town to do some fruit and veg shopping where we discovered to our surprise that there was a really fun free event in the park we were planning on picnicing in, lots of sports to try out and DD won a tshirt for throwing a rugby ball through a wooden shark's mouth, clever girl :)
    4. We enjoyed our scrummy picnic under the shade of a tree, helped down with an icelolly from a nearby van :)
    5. Did a Reverbe and found 2p :):)
    6. Finally booked some cheapy hotels for the 3 of us when we go on our holiday next month, going to break the journey each way and am glad I waited as surprisingly, the rooms were cheaper now than they were a few months ago! Hoorah!
    7. Came home and unsurprisingly, the washing was all dry :)
    8. Just making a nice dinner for DD and I then I'll hopefully get her up to bed nice and early so I can study for my exam tomorow!! Eeeeeek!!!

A funny old day here today and I can't believe I've got a few minutes to update BEFORE sons go to sleep!

    5 for today (Sunday).

    1) Bit of a lie in.

    2) Went to car show nearby which is the school's main fundraising event.

    3) Boiling hot and very sunny.

    4) Sister made me a birthday lunch as she wasn't able to come for tea yesterday.

    5) Went swimming with sons and brother which was nice and cool.

Feel pretty good considering I am suddenly single again. No sighting of MrN since Weds and no text, phone call etc since Thursday. I have been realising just how low my self esteem and self confidence have gone - I suppose that's what several months of someone blowing hot and cold, ignoring me for days at a stretch and basically not coming anywhere near me has done! Anyway, I have been rifling the wardrobe finding things I had become too unconfident to wear (really had done the t shirt and jeans uniform this last couple of months). So I'm looking slightly more dapper than usual!

    Evening all

I missed yesterday so a little catching up to do

    1) Lovely night out on Friday....didn't get in till 1am :o
    2) Finally getting round to cleaning up the new dresser and rearranging things in the kitchen....looking a lot better
    3) Getting the washing and ironing done yesterday
    4) Majority of shopping today was yellow sticky or on offer :D
    5) Finding some reduced roses in Mr A from £2 to 61p....they were looking a bit limp but some fresh water and rose food and they now look beautiful on my kitchen window sill :p
    6) Took a top back to Next - material was cheap and it was badly made....I certainly wasn't paying £25 for that
    7) I had a quick stroll round the shops but resisted buying anything else - parking is a pound an hour in Aberdeen so I make sure I get my moneys worth
    8) Chatting with a German friend on FB - my German is incredibly rusty but he was very forgiving ;) and he's very cute

Hope you all had a good day. Hugs to those that need them

    Evening all,

Frith - congratulations on your decision and enjoy your new found confidence!

I have had my mum to stay this weekend which has been lovely. Though my silly 2nd brother seems to have developed a chip on his shoulder about me, which is a shame since we used to be so close. When I was arranging my mum's trip I called him to ask him when he was available and if he wanted her to stay with him. He was indifferent as he was working... anyway now it is apparently a big issue and I have been "monopolising" her time. He's the one who said that we didn't need to be with her all the time and that she can entertain herself when we are working!!! ARGH!!! Men!!!

    1) Completed the Race for Life with my mum - it was a lovely walk!

    2) Yummy ice cream post walk

    3) Went to see War Horse last night in London. Wow! It was good!

    4) My flat being relatively tidy in preparation for my mum's visit

    5) My mum taking me out for lunch in a local tea room.

Night all... hope you manage to get some sleep in this heat
