This thread never fails to make me smile! :)

    Mine for Sunday:

1 - My friend and I headed to a car boot sale this morning. Not many purchases but I did get a 20 piece plate set (looks like 1970s) for £2!

2 - A walk along the beach with said friend eating 99s!

3 - A long chat on the phone today with my Mam, Dad and Sister.

4 - I used little beads/pebbles I have had for about 7 years in a flower display tonight as the colours were just perfect. See hoarding is beneficial.

5 - Finally hung a painting of our wedding venue and it looks beautiful.

    Evening all

Sparrer - Welcome back....glad to hear you are unhurt and safely home
Frith - Mice I can handle...when my mum was up to 5 cats in the house I was forever removing them. Its rats that give me the heebeejeebees - one got stuck in the garage of my old house and then got into the loft space  took quite a while for me to evict that one
mhagster - all that food sounds yummy :)
    Congratulations Auntie Ladyhawk :D

    1) Beautiful sunny morning here
    2) Getting the bed sheets washed and lined dried before it rained this afternoon
    3) Lovely trip over to Banchory this afternoon - the road follows the River Dee and there's some beautiful scenery
    4) Went to view a welsh dresser at the above - it's lovely and now mine :p for £50 - will fit in my kitchen a treat - just need to arrange for someone to pick it up for me
    5) Turning off the sat nav on the way home and taking a different route....saw some lovely places and I'm seeing some new parts of Scotland
    6) The last of the left over spag bol for dinner
    7) Chat with the ex on the phone - dog is fine but I'm hoping to see him soon :o
    8) All the ironing done
    9) Big glass of wine ;)
    10) Knowing I'll be getting into a bed with lovely clean fresh smelling sheets - can't wait

Hopefully you all had a good day and big hugs for those who (like me) didn't have anyone to celebrate fathers day with :(

    5 for today (Sunday):

    1) Went to see MrN's son 3 and ended up making us all bacon sandwiches.

    2) Went to a local National Trust place but sons weren't really in the mood. Had a nice cup of hot chocolate, though.

    3) Had tea with mum and dad (and my sister) and took him presents for father's day.

    4) My old friend from university stopped to drop some rabbits off that he had shot so I had a quick chat with him. He lives locally and was my friend all my life before we went to the same Uni together and lived in the same house there!

    5) Struggling to find a 5th. :-(

Aha! Just had to text MrN to see if he'll bring the tooth fairy (me) a £1 coin. :-) And a mousetrap. :-S

Darn it, lost a long post.......right try again

    1. The day started and DD's day ended with lovely cuddles with her beloved mummy :) I know I'm beloved because she told me so :):)
    2. My dad loved his cards and presents
    3. We had a scrummy lunch with my parents, lots of laughter and fun and yummy food
    4. I was planning a NSD and my daddy bought me some shopping instead of contributing to my petrol, but on the way home I was falling asleep so we stopped for a hellishly expensive coffee and muffins, nomnom
    5. DD and I went for a lovely walk around the village this evening, shame it was sadly too much for my dodgy leg, possibly after the driving, but anyway, painkillers and a glass of wine are sorting me out (checked before I opened the wine that I can have moderate amounts of alcohol with these drugs!!)
    6. Whilst out, we bumped into a lovely friend and her son and walked around with them for a while

Anyway, I'm feeling a bit sad after my glass of wine and realising that OH isn't going to call me tonight, he's probably feeling tired after a busy weekend with his son, but I wish he hadn't texted to say he'd call me later (sigh) or that I hadn't taken him literally, I should know by now (sigh).....so I think leave the slightly messy kitchan and go off to bed and await his lovely text in the morning and stop feeling pathetically sorry for myself!

Thank you for all the welcome back messages, but I am not spooked at all, on the contrary, I am really moved that my dear online friends think of me!

It is good to see all the well known names and some new ones too.

Here are my pleasures for the day:

1 - Mushroom omelette breakfast in bed courtesy of DH (but later on, remembering that it is Father's Day, feeling guilty I did not make it for him on this day - never mind, I do it every weekday plus packed lunch for him, anyway!).

2 - DH and DS went to the allotment and nearly finished making the raised beds. Looking forward to planting more seeds once all the carpentry work is finished!

3 - Father's day lunch with DH, DD and DS. Dd grilled some aubergines while I went to M&S to pick up a few goodies to share, then on my return I made a quick tomato sauce and we had an aubergine, tomato and feta bake, really yummy, accompanied by mixed salad and then for pudding mixed berries with cream. We all loved it.

4 - DD made a beautiful Father's Day card. I am so proud of my creative girl!

5 - Afternoon walk in the park with DH

6 - Chinese meal in Greenwich with DH

7 - Free cinema (due to membership and tickets not yet used): we saw Potiche, with Catherine Deneuve. Very good film.

8 - I have an opportunity to go and volunteer at some festivals so I might have to dust off my old camping gear! Not decided yet but it looks good. If I can sort out a lift (to be able to carry comfy sleeping stuff) I think I shall do it!

    Good night all x
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

    Evening all,

Am absolutely shattered and should have gone to bed much earlier.

    My five for Sunday:

    1. Getting up really early ready for a long drive. The garage loan-car worked beautifully and the sun was very shiny.

    2. Spending all day at a big event, saw lots of friends and had some good conversations.

    3. Starting to read a biography that has begun well and that I think will be really enjoyable.

    4. Stopping off at my parents on the way home to collect my dad's car keys. I didn't think we'd see them before they go on holiday next week so it was good to have an extra visit.

    5. Getting the loan car back to the garage tonight and a taxi back home again since it was too far to walk and there were no buses. The driver was very interesting to talk to.

    Sleep well

Thank you for my welcome back, and your kind thoughts
Ampersand I'll not bore with too much detail, suffice to say the cruise itself was very pleasant, and I saw parts of Europe not previously visited.
Hello Caterina, how lovely to see you posting again. We flew into Rome then coached to Citiaveccia to start our holiday, returning via Naples before flying home. Sadly we saw nothing of them except the airport and ports, but hope to see more another time.

    1. Laundry all done
    2. Good long phone calls with my DM, DD, DS
    3. Invitation to visit a friend
    4. The pile of post waiting for me included a cheque for surveys, and a large tube of moisturiser
    5. Pop star to opera star is back

    Night night, sweet dreams

hello from a very breezy, freezy Melbourne! The wind blowing through our single glazed windows is making the curtains move!

1.Bright & early start to my day, was asked to go into work earlier today...so happily left my husband to deal with his children & off I went!

2.saw 3 parrots sitting on the carpark....minding their own business until I said hello to them! I still get a thrill seeing parrots, lorikeets & cockatoos.

3.Had a very nice chat with an eldery(ish) Scottish gentleman who has lived in Oz for over 40 years compared to my 8 months today. Said hello to 2 other Scot's who pop into my workplace. So nice to hear their voices & to be understood straight away!

4.Easy tea of spag bol, which son is putting together as I type! I made the sauce yesterday so all he has to do is cook pasta & put in bowls......much huffing & puffing & effort required!

5.Watched Casualty from the comfort of my sofa with a blanket wrapped round me!

    Have a good Monday x

Morning all, some pleasures for me:

    1. A lovely sunny day.
    2. Getting my OS inclinations back heavily. I realise I'm pretty much as prepped as I can be for some things, so I'm working on my own OS attitude now. :) (as in use less, use it better, etc)
    3. Chicken curry for tea tonight with naan bread and rice.
    4. I've lost a quarter of an inch off my waist ((whoohoo))
    5. Found another couple of books to add to my birthday list so I'm not going to be without a few new things to read.

    KB xx
