(And a kick up the bum for me!) X
I think I need one of those as well, just cannot seem to get myself together and felt really YUK earlier today. However, there have been some nice things today, Tried to post earlier but here goes:-
1) The house looking all lovely and Christmassy after putting up the deco's last night.
2) Falling asleep in the chair in front of the fire this afternoon - I felt a bit brighter when I woke up.
3) The look on my dog's face when she knows I'm not 100% and that lovely feeling I get stroking her.
4) DH bringing me home a big bar of choccie to cheer me up and then....
5) Buying me flowers on his way back from walking the dog tonight.
I think I need to practice less of thisand more of this:rotfl:

aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh i just lost what i wrote!!! 2nd attempt!!
Evening all
Ollie - Thank you, I am really chuffed with myself for doing them! Have you checked out the sock monkey thread on christmas board. I have photos of the 3 of mine somewhere on the last few pages but some of them on there are really amazing.
Well, mine for today:
1 After not doing much washing last week I have finally caught up with it
2 Taking dd and ds2 to xmas party today. They saw a magician, santa, danced and got balloons.
3 Dd having a friend at school. He is so adorable and she is ALWAYS happy when she is with him. They were holding hands today and looked so cute!!
4 Discovering mince pies. I had tried them years ago but never liked them but the one I had today was lovely. So I will be making them!!
5 Have a lovely cheap (woopsie sausages) hearty tea of toad in the hole. Even dd ate half of it (toad and hole, not veg or potato - but better than nothing!!)
Right, off to finish dh's newcastle united sock monkey.0 -
Evening, everyone
(((hugs))) generally all around, because I feel like it.
Here's mine for the day:
1) Getting ahead of Christmas food preparations. I made another batch of that stuffing tonight, rolled it into balls and it's sat in the freezer now
2) Getting a step closer to finishing my cross stitch.
3) Epilating. Now, I know it sounds weird, but my legs are smooth and my razor will last soooo much longer
4) Finding a recipe for cheesy biscuits which I shall probably make tomorrow night ready to freeze. I figured if I have these in the freezer, I can take them out the morning I know the oven will be on in the evening, and then I've got the other shelf filled up too
5) Putting some decorations up at work. The office looks nicer and feels a bit more Christmassy.
Thank you for the comments about my baking - I do love to bake. Rest assured that when I take a picture of my baking, I'll post the recipe and the pictures tooWe had an omelette tonight and used up some beans from Monday night, and I've managed to go through the day without buying any groceries

1. Not only has DD brought home the class teddy today but she also took the register from the class to the office, every day just seems better and better at school, lucky thing!
2. Felt like I achieved a lot at work today, I finally feel like I'm nearly on top of things, no longer chasing my tail trying to catch up after being out sick.
3. Sold 2 more CDs on Amaz*nanother £10 I think for the mortgage eventually.
4. YS proper English muffins in Mr W, delicious toasted for tea.
5. Dad called to say my car is all fixed and has had a full service with new brake pads - £180 or something, a real bargain and I'm very grateful to him and the mechanics for looking after me.
6. Admiring the awesome power of "Aunty C" - one of my friends who DD loves and is scared of in equal measure.....DD was a pain in the rump going to bed tonight, overtired, naughty, crying, coming downstairs countless times. Finally, after threatening to call Aunty C, I did and just the sound of her saying "Hello" was enough to send DD up to bed, quietly and without any silly behaviour! Aunty C is lovely, but more authoritative than me......
7. Watching fantastic programmes on BBC4 about Russia - I don't mind paying my TV licence when it goes towards things like this, I studied Russian for a year at uni and it's fascinating to read and hear certain words I can still remember.
8. Boss is happy to pay for me to have some physio to help my back, yippee! Now need to get hold of friendly physio and book my first appointment.
9. Being invited to a girly night out next Wednesday, would like to go but not sure the venue is right for me just yet - bowling....hmm...maybe I'll just go for the meal and cheer on the bowling, that is if I can get a friend to babysit.
Grrr - I'm so annoyed, I can't find the s*dding tree decorations, I've looked everywhere bar the shed, but I'm sure they're not in there....I even went into the loft, which made DD really envious, although I assured her that's just a load of tat up there. She made me promise that she could go up when she's 10, only 5 1/4 years to go
Ollie -yes, my 101 list is on the day zero site, I've got 32 so far, 101 is a lot isn't it!
Acey - will be keeping you in my thoughts tomorrow and hope that things go your way, for you and your boys. Big hugs0 -
Good evening
To those going through a difficult time I send you :EasterBunvirtual chocolate! The hugs are not quite cutting it so chocolate it is! My pleasures for today have been:
1. Time spent with family
2. Losing 2lbs of weight
3. Celebrating weight loss by eating a lot of thorntons
4. Lighting an xmas candle and watching true blood
5. Enjoying a bath with no interruptions or noise
See you all tomorrow!Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
Haven't posted for a couple of days but I've enjoyed reading everyone else's blessings.
1) DD wanted salmon for her birthday 'dinner party' and I found a whole one in Tesco half price. I had to walk away while they chopped it up but once it was bagged I was ok!
2) Met one of the elderly ladies from church in Tesco and she said she was going to try to make it to the presentation by our youth group at church on Sunday. I am so grateful for the support.
3) The dinner party went well this evening. She cooked three courses and the six girls looked very beautiful sitting there around the table in the candlelight with the best china out.
4) DS's girlfriend came to keep him company. They sat upstairs and practiced his Spanish homework. DH says they are a formidable team.
5) I went out with DH to the local curry restaurant, DH's new favourite place, and after a lovely meal they gave us a loyalty card for 15% off in future. He saw an old colleague there too, and we had quite a long chat. It's good to rediscover people sometimes0 -
Acey, add me to your list of people who'll be thinking of you tomorrow as well. Big (((hugs))) and stay strong.
I really didn't feel up to posting yesterday but here are my five for today:
1. I have been given a beautiful new hottie with a soft, furry, white cover and it's exactly what I needed because my old one was reaching the end of its days.
2. I've caught up on two loads of washing, including a fleece jacket and my waterproof which were well overdue for a proper wash and I need them now that the weather is changing.
3. We've had our water use estimated and it looks as if our metered bill will work out at about £60 less a year than our non-metered one in the old house. I'd hoped the savings would have been a bit more but every little helps and at least the bill will be less not more money than previously.
4. Bought an apple corer at long last! Removing the core from apples to be baked was proving very awkward with a knife.
5. Lots of cuddles and laughs with DS2 today. It's pulled me out of a rather miserable mood.
Sweet dreams

Thank you Caterina
To tell the truth Ollie I didn't collect the stamps over a long period but loosely followed Martins suggestion of buying them close to the redemption time, and. got them over a 5 week period in November/December.
My 5
1. A nsd, discounting the subs at my fellowship meeting
2. Cleared the hand washing, which usually sits in the laundry basket for weeks
3. Decs down from the loft, I don't have to buy any extra this year for a change
4. A friend invited me as her guest to a dinner at the weekend
5.Cleared the last of the leaves in the beautiful sunshine. I still have roses blooming and all the spring bulbs are coming through.
Night night, God bless, stay safe

Morning! Didin't get chance to post last night so here are my five for yesterday.
ACEY good luck for today I'll also be thinking about you :A
1. Lovely homemade lunch of soda bread & spicy lentil soup.
2. It was my Dad's birthday & he loved the fact that we gave him money as he's saving up for some expensive driving gloves.
3. Saw my friend in the afternoon & we had a nice chat.
4. DH & the boys rescued a sheep that was stuck in brambles near where we walk the dogs. The poor thing had got tangled against a fence & we couldn't get hold of the farmer. They all went out with torches, a saw and some scissors to do the good deedThe sheep ran away as soon as they'd free'd her so hopefully she'll be ok.
5. Managing to put another £10 away for next Christmas :money: I want it to be done by the first week in November 2010.
Have a good day all & I'll be back later xxx0 -
Hi all, haven't been able to post for ages. I do hope you are all well. My husband and I have decided to seperate, things just haven't worked and we have amicably decided to cut our losses now and move on before life passes us by. Amicable and mutual, but still heartbreaking for both of us.
Mine for yesterday:
1 - supportive emails and phone calls from dear friends
2 - a lovely bath with some new body shop bubble bath bought with money off and quidco for a treat
3 - homemade chilli con carne
4 - looking forward to going to Switzerland next week
5 - being positive about the future:beer:0
