Good morning everybody :hello: - got a panic this morning, when I opened my eyes there was a hint of daylight in the sky 7.40 instead of my usual 6.45  - didn't half make me shift my rear into gear :rotfl:.

billy858 - sorry to hear you're feeling a bit down - sending you some HS18791paws.gif to help start your day. phew over the 'fuse bulb' - I keep meaning to store the fairy lights separately from the main deccies so that I can test them easily before attempting to put the tree up - BUT of course every year they go back in the box and don't come out till 'tree day'!
Tealady - hope you had a good evening out and wd on your bargain top :j.
Sublime - did your Pesto Bread turn out ok? Good news about your OH being home earlier than expected.
yummyhoney - wd you on your shopping trip :j - I love our local Asda for shopping and the staff are very friendly.
nic1lou2 -insomnia.gif - what rotten luck! But wtg you on not wasting it by just lying there making matters even worse :T. Hope last night was a bit better .
nuttybabe - well done to Otis for having such a good effect on your ds and dd ;) - hope Santa is going to remember to put a pressie under the tree for him! I googled 'sock monkeys' as I'd never seen them - clever you :T.
Kitchenbunny - thanks for the recipe for the pasties - they sound really delicious and I'm sure they'll go down a treat for my buffets this year. Couldn't resist a flick through your recipe pics - hope you don't mind - that coconut cake looks good too :j. Good to know that I'm not the only one who never finishes a bottle of moisturiser - but I am having a real push on it this year.
Rummer - wtg to your OH on getting it all down for you - mine has to be asked for days and days before finally getting the ladder out of the cupboard.
Kittikins - wd to your dd on her reading book and wtg you on your 101 things in 1001 days :T - did you get it from 'DayZero'? I may suggest this to my DD as a way of motivating her/concentrating her mind - she doesn't even read or have hobbies of any kind .
Dazi - lol at your last one - I had two christmases like that and AT THE SAME TIME my poor sister had three children in two and a half years - two of them in the same year (Jan and Dec). Our parents used to cringe everytime we began a phone conversation with 'Guess what .......!' :rotfl:. Great idea on the porridge and wd you on looking for inspiration in New Look for a pressie :T.
ginnyknit - hope the 20wk scan gave you some idea ;)!
ACEY - HSsending1_28738.gif to you for Thursday's hearing - no wonder he's so desperate to see the boys - though why the heck his 'fiancee' needs to be there for that is ridiculous. Hope everything goes well for you and your sons and that he gets his 'comeuppance' - fraudsters usually get caught out, eventually. They can't completely cover their tracks for ever! Wd to your youngest ds for his efforts at school and with his speech - he must have put in lots of hard work to have come all this way :T. Good luck with your Christmas Tree .
scotrae - wd on your bargain Wii and christmas tree and wd to the kids in the school concert - at that age enthusiasm is just as important as pitch ! Rock on Ralph the Elf :rotfl:.
sparrer - wd on your savings stamps :T. I've not done that, but I HAVE been stashing for a few months so the christmas food shopping won't actually cost much this year.
bunnytoo - glad to hear you're still enjoying your walks with the tail-wagger :j and wtg on the crocheting :).
bella - good luck with your 'little people visitors' when they arrive .

    Mine for yesterday:

    1. DD rang asking for OH to look after Dgd2 while she goes to the dentist on Thursday morning and he said 'no problem' - there's a small park by the dentist's surgery.

    2. Meeting in work about what days we're having off over the Christmas holidays - last year we were told which ones to take off for our two concessionary days - this year Line Manager has asked us how WE want to work it :T.

    3. Planning a meal out with Line Manager for January - the bill to be footed by organisation up to a certain amount .

    4. Pork and Apple sausages, creamy mash, peas & sweetcorn and onion gravy for eveningmeal last night. With whoopsied fruit salad for afters.

    5. Chatting and Quizzing on-line with sister and friends last night for an hour or so :T.

Hope everybody is having a good day and will pop back whenever I can through the day - love Ollie xxxx

Acey - hugs. I hadn't picked up on the first part of your last post until Ollie referred to it. If there's any grounds to the charges your DH is up on, he's been blinking selfish and messing the boys around. I could go on but if your boys could bear not seeing him for a while perhaps the decision will be made outside the family courts. Thinking of you. xx

    Hi all

Acey, good luck with court case.

Sparrer, good to see you posting again!

    Here are mine for yesterday:

1 - Energy levels much better, also due to a good night sleep with only one or two episodes of coughing.

2 - Managed to do some paid work so I should be able to take some annual leave over Christmas

3 - Afternoon in central London with DH, I was worried about not managing but managed quite well instead, we had a lovely, gentle time pottering around the shops.

4 - Although we did not go to see Handel's Messiah at the ENO, we gave the tickets to DD and her BF and they "sort of" enjoyed it - which is good enough, at least we are opening their cultural horizons LOL

5 - We bought two tickets for the candle-lit Handel's Messiah in St Martin in the Fields church for later in December to make up for the missed performance at the ENO. No visibility but great acoustics (we were told) in the gallery seats, and the tickets were only £7 each!

6 - Back home, we watched "Small Island" on bbc Iplayer (I think this is what the replayer is called!) on TV and really enjoyed it. I loved the book! Can't wait for the second episode now!

7 - There is a feeling of genuine closeness at the moment between me and DH. Because of historical troubles in the past I have some difficulties in trusting that this will stay, but am choosing to enjoy the closeness while it is there, it really warms my heart.

Will post later about today - tonight I have the work AGM, which I want to attend as much as I want to stick splinters under my fingernails and pins in my eyes...If I am still coughing so much tonight and my colleague agrees to deliver the annual reports I might give it a miss altogether.

    Love to all xxx
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

Thanks to everybody for a warm welcome to this thread.

Ollibeak, yes it turned out fine, thanks for asking. I'm now making another loaf of it today.

My OS pleasures for today are:

    1. Having all my family with me.
    2. Taking my little one to his toddler group christmas party. Its so sweet to see him running around, causing mayhem.
    3. Coming back to a lovely clean, and tidy kitchen, courtesy of my OH. I could smell bleach outside the house, so he must have had a good go. He also hoovered, bless him!
    4. Not having to cook today, as still eating yesterdays chilli, with another batch of pesto bread.
    5. Just feeling happy. :D

Thanks for the good luck messages. Feeling very nervous and ever so slightly sick now! Its my mum's 65th birthday tomorrow too and she is going to spend part of it picking my sons up from school - because I shall be in court. :-(

    5 for today!

    1) Enjoyed my counselling lesson and we all went to the pub afterwards!

    2) House is quite clean and tidy still and I've just lit the fire.

    3) Emailed one of my counselling course colleagues. The grate part of my woodburning stove fell apart years ago and I need a new one to stop logs rolling out onto the carpet. The best stockist is in Yorkshire and I just happened to mention this. So my friend is getting her husband's colleague to pick one up for me on his delivery run!!!

    4) Just been through little son's high frequency words with him (that he should have known by the end of reception, he is part way through year 2 now) and he knows them! So we had a ceremonial burning of the laminated word sheet on the stove and he is very pleased with himself.

    5) Nothing to do this evening so there'll be some telly watching (got Holby City to watch from yesterday), some Wii Fit work and that's about it.

    6) Got a few phone calls to make when the boys are asleep too - to my auntie for her birthday, she's always good for a chat. And to my best friend from school.

    L

P.S Been thinking that after court at least I shall be in Worcester so I can do a little light Christmas shopping!

    Hi all

Here I am for the pleasures of today:

1 - Managed to put some more work today.

2 - Did an errand that was long overdue

3 - DD made me a lovely pasta with tomato and mushroom sauce for lunch

4 - Went to the GP and had antibiotics prescribed and a chest X-Ray The "happy" part is that I made myself go and that the doctor was very pleasant while being very matter-of-fact, not at all patronising. If you had known my old GP practice, you would know why something as simple as this makes me rejoice! Am a bit nervous about Xrays, hope all is well.

5 - Decided that going to work AGM is too much, called my boss and said so, she agreed and there was no stress about it at all.

Not the most overwhelming of pleasures today, but I still like to look at the bright side of things.

    Love to all xxx

Hi, I'm getting back into the shafts again after my short break and the OS hat is well and truly on my head.

    Yesterday:-

    1. Went shopping with DD but we had scone and coffee at home first.

    2. Took our lunch with us and ate it in the car in Mr. T's car park.

    3. Got some free range eggs in Mr. T's very reduced.

    4. Pressies for DGK's all bought and wrapped.

    5. Making Lemon Curd to use some of the cheap eggs.

    Today:-

    1. All net curtains washed and windows cleaned with help from DH.

    2. Cleaned out kitchen drawers.

    3. Turkey drumstick provided us with the third lunch this week and went down well with salad, still picking home grown leaves.

    4. Filling some of the large gap in my freezer which was left after my six week visitor went home. My contribution for today:- Bread rolls, blinis, mincepies and lemon tarts.

    5. Frittata for tea to use some more of the cheap eggs.

KitchenBunny your baking looks fab, I can see how you got your name.

    Bella.

Good evening everyone. I will start off by thanking everyone who has sent me good wishes- it really helps. The thing is I have nothing genuine to feel low about which makes me feel even more of a fraud! Feeling much better today though so here are my pleasures,
    1. Coming on this thread where there are so many wonderful people.
    2. Lovely long walk with the dog.
    3. Watching the excitement on little childrens faces on the Christmas aisle in the supermarket.
    4. Simple supper of scrambled egg on toast. (DD1 out and DD2 unwell so I wasn't cooking a big meal just for the two of us).
    5. Cuddling up with DD2 and watching Kirstys Homemade Christmas.
Thanks again for the good wishes. It really does make a difference.
Love to all. (And a kick up the bum for me!) X
