Evening all.
And a special hello to Saving Forever and Cat_g:hello:
1) Played badminton this morning - I didn't play very well but it was fun.
2) Popped into town and oggled TeaLady's shoes.
3) Took some bits and bobs to the recycling centre - good to hget them off the landing! Gotta love decluttering
4) Made good use of the oven - I was baking a cottage pie so decided to also put a batch of sweet scones and a batch of cheese scones in... then I also decided to whip up a batch of bran muffins.
5) Chatted to my mum on the phone and my best friend G on facebook. He has invited me to go skiing with him and his boyfrend next week... I'm tempted!
Night night... sleep tight and have a fabulous week!
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
Sparrer - your photos are lovely, I want to be a stowaway next time you go
Ladyhawk -ooooh skiing, go, go, go

Hi all
Sparrer, lovely photos, can't wait to hear all about your trip, make sure you come to the meet!
Ladyhawk, where are you going skiing? Have fun!
Welcome to forever saving and cat_g_83
Today I am a little bit bashed after yesterday's training session, my back is aching but hope to feel well enough for tomorrow's Old Ladies Keep Fit!
Here are my pleasures for today:
1 - Long lie-in with cup of (decaff) coffee with cream, reading a new mag that came in the post yesterday.
2 - Walk with friend to the shops and visit to coffee shop, natter and drink.
3 - At coffee shop (famous chain) I was overcharged for a decaff filter (charged as if it was Americano) so wrote a complaint card and handed it to staff member. Staff member, concerned about complaint, asked what it is, so I explained. He gave me 2 vouchers for free drinks for next time, I explained that I was not complaining about staff, only the fact that the company should provide a decaff version of all their coffees. He still wanted to give me the vouchers and was very apologetic. Top score for customer service!
4 - Because of bad back today I really lazed about and it was good to rest without doing much for a change!
5 - DH cooked dinner and it was delicious.
Off to bed now, good night all xFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Hello to the newbies the oldies and the lurkers i hope everyone has had a good weekend.
- Had a wonderful evening talking with W he likes to protect me in his own way, and dispite my sheer demand for indepandace i appriciate that he looks after me.
- Woke up late in the morning to glorious sun shine
- Baked some gorgeous cookies from a cheap student cookbook and they turned out much better than previous biscuit attempts
- Had a gd giggle with some friends with some off the cuff poetry creations in fact my sides are still hurting from the laughter.
- Basics stocked back up in the kitchen need to go to Mr t tomorrow as i find some of the value range much cheaper and better quality that Mr m (squash & yogurts in particular). Plus i have some Mr T vouchers i need to use before the middle of the mnth.

1. Slept in til 8am, then woke to find two paws and a damp nose inches from my face
2. Sorted the freezer, shouldn't need to buy meat/veg for a couple of weeks.
3. Had a fun lunchtime meeting then popped into P/stretcher and got a shower curtain for £1, to line my waffle one with
4. Made chicken curry for lunch using left-over korma sauce and a stripped thigh with lots of veg.
5. Planning my next holiday to Oban in April, frustrating but interesting to hear the excuses of caravan/cottage owners why we can't book 8 nights instead of 7 when it won't even be school hols time. Got a couple in the pipeline now though so should get something more positive after a few phone calls in the morning.
Night night, sweet dreams

Many thanks to everyone for the congrats! Spud is cartwheeling at the mo, and has been for about an hour, so can't get to sleep! Anyhoo, my 5 blessings for the weekend:
1. Spent a large part of Saturday reading a book, was lovely to just take the time out.
2. My dd1 cleared and tidied the kitchen for me today whilst I was at work, was lovely to come home to it all done!
3. dd3 has some clip on earrings, and has been clipping one to her belly button and skipping round pretending she's had it pierced all weekend, she looks so funny that we have all been giggling!
4. Found 2 more garages nearby that may have a car for me - I'm ever the optimist!
5. Made leek and potato soup, samosas and sausage rolls, all delicious even if I do say so myself, and will provide enough snacks to keep the kids going for a wee while!GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000
