  • Evening,

Hope you're all having a good evening.

    For today and yesterday (working):

    1. Walked to work again.I mean to keep it up,just need to be out the door no later than 6.10 am.

    2. It's rained this evening, not had a lot of rain recently.

    3. Saw a beautiful splash of yellowy-orange crocuses in the park.

    4. Had a nice tea, made enough for tomorrow as well.

    5. The wee cat very affectionate tonight.

CCP for me a traybake is something like parkin or flapjacks that are shallow and are cut in squares/rectangles and not a traditional cake.

    Frith !!!!

Thanks - that's the sort of thing I should know really, isn't it? :o In that case, cider cake isn't a traybake - it comes out deep and squidgy and sliceable.

It's a shame I ate the last of mine today - I'll have to see about making another one. ;)
Back after a very long break!

Don't worry,I've only recently sussed what it is too!
  • My pleasures for yesterday:

    1. When I got my cleaning done, I had a nice sit down. Which was nice.
    2. DH bringing me a cup of tea in bed.
    3. I made a tuna pasta bake for tea. DH doesn't normally like tuna, so for him to have enjoyed it was lovely.
    4. My hair is long enough again to put up with a clip and not look like a sprouty pineapple or hen's backside.
    5. Waking up to sunshine!

CCP - glad you liked the venison casserole - it's on my favourites list now too. :)

Just a quickie to say I THINK I've worked out how to do a photo link. Will post this and try it. If it doesn't work please be patient as I really don't have a clue what I'm doing! Why do some people make it look so easy?

nearly bed time....need to clear kitchen first though after having friend over for dinner !

    1. Rainy day! Been a wee while since we have had all day rain (about 19o) nice to hear it, see it & smell it! Was just ordinary rain, not heavy torrential floody stuff!

    2. Was most productive in kitchen today. Made banana loaf, spicy chocolate muffins, 2 lots of meringues......1st lot perfect (on top shelf of oven), 2nd lot binned as burned in bottom shelf of oven. I despair!

    3. For first time ever I cooked roast beef & Yorkshire puddings. I'm not that keen on either so have never made them, however they both turned out fine and were wolfed down!

    4. Good company & a good laugh with our friend ,who's over from UK.

5.Saw loads & loads of cockatoos today, 2 towns along there are always plenty but today they were everywhere! Pretty, funny but noisy, squawky things!

    Enjoy your Sunday! x
