    Mine for today
    1. Went to Marks and Spencer to spend a voucher given to me as a birthday present. Found that if I bought £10 worth of food I got a £10 voucher to add to the voucher to spend on clothes.
    2. Son came over to visit.
    3. Got half a box of Thorntons chocolates left and have the house to myself this evening so can scoff them all.
    4. Bought a pair of insoles which means some shoes which didn't fit very well are now comfortable.
5.Got another free DVD with the newspaper this morning.
  • Evening all.

here's mine for Monday and today

1 . Long conversation with warferin nurse when I realised they had p;ut me on two weekly blood tests - situation changes so quickly with me regarding steroids blood sugars and antibiotics, 2 weekly is not a good Idea. Even she addmited i was complicated so sucessfully got back too weekly.

2 delivery came from Coopers of Storford - had been liiking for one of hte units for ages and it was reduced!

    3. CD unit looks good now built and there was no swearing from hubby as he put it togeather. He even admited it went togeather well (he has a fobia of self assemply furniture

4 good nights sleep on Sunday but had a fairly lazy day

5 lovely freezer tea of chilli a few chips and mixed veg yesterday.

6.managed to prepare tea for 4 without getting totally knackered (pork chops Greens and mashed potatoes with onion gravy.

7 started cleaning the fan oven - we do not use it all that often now as it splatters too much and gets into oe heck of a state.

8 shopping list done for morrisons. not much on it - but tried to take int account approved foods order so added quality sausages for sausage casserole and diced turkey to go with the korma sauce.

9 watched despatches last night - good to see the good and worse side of hospital catering. Gloucester seems quite high up the ladder, but i want to join the specialist unit at the brompton now (i wish).

10 looking forward to Heston B in an hour

off for a cuddle with puddy tat. sleep well all

    Evening

    Pleasures for today:
    1. Very organised this morning and made a pan of bean and chirizo soup plus put a lamb casserole in the slow cooker. Casserole was lovely to come home to tonight
    2. Soup went down very well at work with one portion left for me to have tomorrow
    3. NSD first one for a while
    4. Washing machine seems to be working again today so hoping it may last out another month or two.
    5. About to watch a DVD with OH.
    6. Chatting with my Dad on the phone and it seems DD is being a big help and looking after my mum so taking a bit of pressure off dad. Mum suffers with depression and gets forgetful sometimes having DD there is doing her a world of good.

Hugs to all who need them

Wogglemaker - just seen your post. I used to work in the catering department at the Brompton before having DD and they were just starting to go back to fresh food then. I didn't see the programme last night but it always used to be very good

    Evening all,

    Hope you are well.

You'll never beieve this... but my car wouldn't start this morning :( The nice people from green Flag (who now know me by name :o) came out to sort it and managed to get it going but I had to take it back to the garage. Apparently there was a valve problem which the fixed but were not confident that it will stay fixed. I sat in the garage reception doing some work on my laptop and using their broadband and the manager laughed that if it doesn't work then they will give me a desk and I can work from their office!
    1. My boss wasn't in our office today so wasn't aware that I only got in at 11am. I did work in at 7pm though
    2. I was the senior management in the office today so the atmosphere was very relaxed.
    3. Almost a NSD... except I needed diesel. I took my own lunch in and didn't buy any luxuries
    4. Chatted on the Blackberry with the Guy in Dubai... that man confuses me!!!
    5. Made some fudge to give to a friend tomorrow to say thank you for looking after the kitty while I was in Berlin.
    hope you are all well

    Man plans and God laughs...
Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.
  • Hi one and all,
    1. Sorted out bedroom
    2. Went to lunch with OH and cousin
    3. Wrote letter of complaint to double glazing company.
    4. Bought super king mattress cover from Argos for £7.99
    5. Found pie maker on ebay for £7.99 both what I have wanted for months and bargains!!!! Yessssss.
  • Not been on here for a while.............thought I'd list a few pleasures from the last couple of weeks.

Caterina How fabulously well this low-carbing has gone for you! I loved the idea of having sauces on french beans. The exercise sounds good fun too! th_clap-1.gif

Ladyhawk   :(BangHead.gif ref the car...........do hope it gets sorted asap.

Frith Your posts are always full of things you're good at............I suppose it's just difficult for you to recognise this yourself at the moment.

    'Making flapjacks that nearly worked.'
    Nearly??????????

wogglemaker You obviously face a lot of difficulties every day, but also obviously do try to make the best of every day.............something for all of us to remember. Thank you

PQuilt That present for the in-laws sounds fabulous!

Frugalpam I love reading about your puddytat...........love cous cous too :p

Kittikins Am dead jealous, but still love reading about Mr A!

Mhagster Your posts are like sitting down with a hot choc under a cosy blanket. Yes, it must be a HUGE change for you, but I suspect it HAS been the right thing to do.

    to everyone else.

Came home to find a parcel in my letterbox. It was a lovely set of fridge magnets.........a totally unexpected gift sent by a friend accompanied by a lovely card. How thoughtful and very much appreciated! :A (Even more so after a  day)

Seeing my friend's son (my DS1's best friend who is suffering from Hodgkinsons Lymphoma) in hospital, looking quite well and not suffering too much during the treatment he is having. Was there for nearly 3 hours and we had a right laugh. He's been in a week, 3 more at least to go.

Going out for a carvery tomorrow with a lady I work for. We love to chat when I'm there, so I suggested we have an evening out together, rather than her paying me by the hour to chat ;)

1 of my clients insisting I tell him what my fave perfume is even though I didn't want to as I've got expensive taste.
I had a right ol' time with their house flooding over Christmas (snow) as they live away it was all left to me. More problems today as the dehumidifier broke and all the water poured out (1 sodden stained carpet ) instead of flowing nicely through the tube and down the sink. He's off abroad this week and is bringing me back some Mademoiselle Coco for my dedication hyper_fast.gif (I used the last of mine at the B'ham meet)

DS1 enjoying his new job even though he has to get up earlier / use his car / petrol to get to the Gloucester office. He previously just walked down the stairs when he was a bar manager at the pub!

    I have beenmysmilie_483.gifall day.
On a Monday I work for R. D works there on a Tuesday. On Sunday I made some Twinks (I added choc chips....yummy!) I wrapped some in greaseproof for her and left a note on top saying: 'Enjoy D!'
She happened to ring me last night, so I told her I'd left a little treat for her.
    She rang me this morning............:rotfl:
'Thanks for whatever it was you left............all I saw was a note saying: 'Thanks D, they were lovely! R x'
R had thought they were for him from D. It's really made me chuckle, especially as
    a) he'd be absolutely mortified if he knew and
    b) he's always going on about how he has to follow a wheat/sugar free diet! :D

Another of my clients ringing me tonight just to say he missed me yesterday..........he'd taken his car for a service, so I didn't get to see him.

Off for a quick shower now.

    Good night everyone! DD X

dundee doll: awwh! what a lovely think to say! nice to 'see' you here again!

My life change has been a huge thing but it is also a wonderful opportunity to experience. It makes a difference to concentrating my thoughts on the 'good bits' of my day! Some days easier than others (but I'm sure we are all like that!)

I am now stepping away from new laptop....been on it all morning!

    Hello
I used to post here a while ago and it's time to come back to you good people :)

    Here's my 5 for today

1: My sister had stopped over and so I got to chat to her this a.m. before work, a nice treat

2: Took lunch to work as usual but this time I brought a few raspberries and blueberries which were delicious. Not very OS in terms of seasonality but good to eat them up before they go off...

3: Terrible journey home from work as there had been a big accident and it was the worst gridlock I have ever seen. But on the upside, kids and I had a huge singsong to pass the time and I taught DS "The Animal Fair" in two parts. We were also yelling the hokey cokey at the top of our lungs. :)
    4: Broccoli cheese for tea
5: Sausages out of freezer for casserole tomorrow

    That's all

    hi everyone!
It's a nice Wednesday eveing here, been about 24o during day which is just about right really!
My girls are out in the garden de-heading hundreds of agapanthus flowers which are past their best, I've been going to do it & they both wanted to help so.......!

    1. Being thankful for what we have here, having spent another day watching NZ earthquake aftermath.

    2. Continuing with being industrious within the house, really makes a difference having cooler weather.

    3. Parked my backside at the table today & went through paperwork. Kids have a whole load of trips/forms/cash to be paid for school....so ploughed through pile & got that sorted!

4.Husband home early from work so a nice early dinner of chilli & tacos & lovely salad prepared by son!

    5. 3 nice emails from friends! Replied to them & then transferred bookmarked items from old computer to new laptop.

Have a good Wednesday.....now kids are back at school, the weeks are flying by!
