Hi all
CCP re. charity shops, the standards vary immensely, some are impeccably clean and the clothes in perfect order, some others are horrid. The first sense I use when I go charity shopping is smell: some shops have a definite PONG! I never shop in these. If the shop is odour-free I then go in and do a good search, always checking garments and items very carefully. My best buy was a Nicole Fahri coat, which I am still wearing after 5 years (although it is on its last legs now) for a fiver!
Here are my pleasures for today:
1 - Early breakfast with DH, veg stirfry with tofu (he also had some bread, he is not low-carbing!).
2 - Free preview of film West is West. Very good, highly recommended especially if you loved East is East!
3 - Brunch at Fish! in Borough Market with a very good offer - delicious!
4 - After brunch we went to the West End window-shopping.
5 - Lots of skincare samples collected, I am sorted for a few weeks now, skin-wise!
Good night everybody xFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -

Evening
Pleasures for the last couple of days:
1. Lovely lunch with my friend J on Friday at a local Korean restaurant that we hadn't tried before. Was really yummy and reasonably priced plus we tried some new things and the staff explained what everything was to us.
2. Another good night of volunteering this time the brownies and rainbows had their thinking day. Very busy but everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and the guiders apreciated the help.
3. DD have a safe and uneventful journey to my parents even if there was no first class carriage on the train when I had paid for a first class seat for her. Can feel a letter coming on for Monday.
4. This morning I have done an 11 mile training walk and can certainly feel the effects in my legs
5. Being able to have a bath when got back from walk.
6. Easy but tasty dinner tonight of spicy meatball and pasta bake using RTC meatballs
7. Managed to buy several RTC items in Sainsbugs today including the meatballs.
Hugs to all who need them0 -

1. Did a Reverbe and found 5p, spotted it before DD who is quite eagle-eyed
2. DD and I went shopping and we were complimented by a nice old lady who overheard DD asking me if we were looking for bargains, she said that I'm bringing her up the right way
3. DD bought me a birthday card in advance, we both spied a very cute card and I was going to buy it for her "secretly" but she asked me for some money to buy me a "surprise" for my birthday in April. Great minds and all that.....
4. Got lots of YS bargains whilst out shopping
5. Had a bit of a snooze this afternoon as my late nights/exciting day have caught up with me a bit!
6. Instead of buying expensive clay to make a model for DD's school project, we made salt dough models instead and she had a whale of a time being creative. Hope they dry out nicely
7. DD hasn't stopped talking about how much she likes MrA and has come up with all kinds of ideas for fun days out for us.........hope he's up for at least some of them!
8. Reading "The Great Big Glorious BOok for Girls" and getting lots of ideas for fun things for me and DD.0 -
Evening all,
Welcome Louise!!
Hope you are ok this evening... and don't have the dreaded Sunday evening feeling.
1) Dyed my roots - been meaning to do it for about a week
2) Went out for a yummy lunch with the Meet Up group - roast lamb followed by apple crumble
3) Chatted to my mum on the phone. She's not coming to visit next month when my first neice/nephew is bornShe is going to come out in July instead
4) Made a decision to cancel my skiing trip this year... I really can't afford it and I feel relieved that I have told my friends that I can't go.
5) Chatting to my friend L on Blackberry Messenger this morning
Night night all
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -

More bread mis bread roll mix and lots of other mony saving puchases made. and for once all things we useIt matters not if you try and fail, and fail and try again; But it matters much if you try and fail, and fail to try again.
