Heres hoping I won't lose this post.
1. Having a coffee with a friend while DS2 went to rugby training. He decided to go even though he can't do any contact training for another week.
2. HM soup for lunch.
3. DH not well in the morning but after sleeping most of the day felt much better in the evening and managed to eat some toast.
4. Finishing cleaning out my kitchen cupboards and the space I have left is great.
5. Watching some of the cycling with DS2.
One for today is sitting here watching the birds feed in my neighbours garden.0 -
Morning everyone
I've been feeling quite low lately and struggling to keep my head above water (or so it feels) so I need to remind myself of some OS pleasures!
1. Daffodils in my houseI bought a small bunch and split it into 3 vases so I can see them all around the house. They are starting to bloom and are making me feel so happy when I see them. OH said they look like little trumpets which made me love them even more!
2. Have made £85 in 1 month by selling my old clothes on ebay. Feels great to have a massive de-clutter and have made some money too.
3. Ordered some seed potatoes and growing bags using my tesco clubcard vouchers - thanks to the greenfingered mse forum for sharing the deal. Waiting patiently for them to arrive.
4. Wearing my first hand knitted jumper. It fits me like a glove (or should that be jumper). I'm so pleased that it turned out nicely.
5. OH said he's cooking me dinner tonight
Well look at that, I feel happier already :j Yay for simple pleasures to brighten up a day0 -
evening/morning.....delete as applicable!
1. Took dd2 to school , went to assembly. Then walked into our wee town, enjoying the very cool air (15o) I wore my jeans and a pair of socks and was most certainly not overdressed!
2. Monday mooch round the op shop. Got 3 nice ,thick wicker baskets . I had a lot of baskets back home which I was not allowed to bring over here for customs reasons (dust & dirt can be trapped) so sold them all for peanuts at carboot sales we did. They are very expensive here (ha! as is everything!) so was most pleased to find them! Gave them a good wash when I got home.
3. Went to library to pick up a DVD that DD2 had reserved.
4.Made a big lasagne for dinner....very moreish and has gone!
5.Enjoyed listening to the kids and how their day had been. DD2 had 'the talk!' .....'you know mum, the talk!' but didn't learn anything new!
Enjoy your Monday! x0 -
Hello all - hope every body is having a nice day. I haven't done this before so bear with me!!:
1. Day off so a nice relaxed pace
2. Took doggie to the vets for the chop (knowing I raised the cash thru ebay selling!)
3. Changed the bed linen so now all crisp and freshy with hospital corners ...can't wait to climb in!
4. HM gammon pie with roasties for tea
5. Trip to the library for books on frugal living
I think I could actually write more than 5 today it's been such a great day!

Evening all
Here's my pleasures for today:
1. Managed to find a moisturiser that doubles as a cleanser in Boots for less than £3 - can't wait to try it! My skin is so dry lately.
2. A nice walk into town for a legstretch at lunchtime. For the rest of the week I shall be staying in though.
3. A cup of tea!
4. Had some additional vouchers from Mr T for cleaning stuff - luckily I don't need anything else I would have been tempted!
5. I found a recipe for a warm honey cup pudding (from this month's Easy Cook magazine) that can be made in little ramekins and frozen. I'm going to make a big batch to freeze as they sound yummy!
A nice quick pasta bake for tea means there's not a lot to do this evening. I have done my Pilates (for the first time in ages!) but then kinda equalled out the good by eating a big chunk of cheese that was looking at me in the fridge. Oh well.I must have needed the calcium *angelic look*. Hope everyone has a nice night.

- Would have been a NSD but I ordered some flowers for my colleague/ friend who is undergoing chemo. It was OS since I got 15% cash back then managed to get them upgraded to a bigger size free of charge
- Popped into the library on the way home in my car (have I mentioned that I got my car back today??) and picked up 3 new books. I look forward to reading them.
- Received a post card from my lovely friend L who has been on holiday for the last month
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
Evening everyone,
Pleasures for today:
1. Felt very headachy this morning but after a cup of greentea and some paracetamol felt much better and got on with my day.
2. Was still feeling the effects of yesterdays walk in my legs today but managed to walk home from work and felt much better for it.
3. Bought a large cooked chicken in Waitrose for £1.99 so that will be stripped down and used for sandwiches and various other things.
4. Few freebies in the post today - a pen which OH claimed, a memory stick from a supplier that have put away for DD and a lovely hoody that work has paid for as part of our sponsorship for the moonwalk. As the hoody as bought from the walk the walk site the profit goes to the charity :j
5. Friend called round tonight with a lovely present of a bottle of Prosecco and a bottle of Issy Mikake Perfume (which is one of my favourites) for looking after her children last weekend. She really didn't need to get me anything especially something so extravagant but very nice all the same.
Hugs to all who need them0 -
Hi all
A warm welcome to this thread to Louise 3965 and Skyvicky123!
House elf, glad you liked the film too, a lot of it was very funny but there was so much sadness too, I actually cried when the first wife was talking to the English one (but then again it does not take much to make me cry, I always do at the cinema!).
Funkymonkey849, sorry you have felt down lately but well done on finding pleasures, especially using flowers to cheer yourself up, it is such a lovely way to give ourselves a little treat! And daffs are soooo cheerful, bringers of spring!
Ladyhawk, great news about your car!
Here are my pleasures for today:
1 - Good keep fit class (different teacher from usual).
2 - Weighed myself on the "generous" scales. Even if I know that I have to add 7lbs to what these scales read, compared to last week I have lost another 2lbs! RESULT!
3 - Lunch with DS, mozzarella salad with watercress, tomato and avocado.
4 - Visit to a neighbour who recently moved a few streets away, lovely to see her and her adorable 6 months old baby girl.
5 - The London OS meet is happening again and lots of people are interested! Check the OS Meet Up thread if interested, it will be in April (ok, end of shameless plug LOL).
Good night everybodyFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0
