  • Here are mine from yesterday:

    1) Two phone call chats with friends I haven't seen for ages.
    2) Someone on Ravelry asked me if they could use a picture of one of my crocheted dolls on their site which buoyed my confidence :D
    3) A NSD (the first in about 2 weeks)
    4) First day of my nail-growing campaign. But I kept forgetting that I had stop 'n' grow on my nails - yeuch!
    5) Watching 'I Legend' with DH and DS1 in front of the fire.

  • My pleasures from yesterday:

    1. A late present from MiL - a new Yorkshire pudding tin that won't lose its coating. I can also use it for quiches and toads - happy :)
    2. DH is feeling a bit better. :)
    3. Watched a film from LoveFilm, another on TV and generally relaxed.
    4. Had a nice short walk.
    5. I also started a bit of a self improvement thing yesterday, but involving moisturising every day and trying to keep up appearances. So far I've managed it.

Another quick one - my sister is asking me cooking/keeping questions, so I'm happy. :)

I'm suffering a bit of a headache today so I hope there's not a lot planned. I think there's just a pasta bake planned for tea tonight as I really don't feel like doing a lot. I've been trying to make chocolates using my new silicone moulds for the past few days but haven't got around to it because of one thing or another. I must get around to it. Anyway, have a good day everyone.

Hope it's OK to post this here but, just in case anyone hasn't heard this story and has time on their hands (recovering from flu anyone?) and wants to catch up, there was a really amazing 'pleasure' that happened throughout 2010. The outcome is being broadcast tomorrow night(Thurs 30 Dec 8pm) on BBC 'DIY SOS - The Big Build Littlehampton'.

    1. Waking up this morning tofind that the grey dank mist has disappeared and underneath the blanket of melted snow, the first winter heather is bursting into purple bloom.
    2. After hearing of the death of a friend in a Christmas card, being able to plough through our photo albums and dig out some photos of her, taken at a party years ago, to send to her OH in the hope that the sight of her laughing would cheer him up,
    3. Tasty Chinese stir-fry for lunch. After two days of Christmas roasts and leftovers, it was nice to have something different.

Only three today but Perhaps I ought to include NOT going around any of the Sales because there is absolutely nothing I need to spend money on. Surely that ought to be a blessing worth recording?

    Evening all,

HE - hope your DH's clear out is going better than mine!
Primrose - sorry to hear about your friend

My shoulder seems to be getting worse :( I am going to start taking ibuprofen to see if it helps with the inflamation and pain.

    1) Stayed over at my DB and FSIL's last night. It was good to chat to them last night.

    2) Got up late and made it into work for 10am

    3) Wandered into town at lunch for a spot of shopping... and got some gorgeous red shoes for £9 from M+S

    4) Left the office at 3.30pm (yes it was a completely slacking day which I will have to make up for tomorrow!!)

    5) 1kg of mushrooms for 20p at MrA - so yummy mushroom soup with HM bread for supper. the soup was made in my new pressure cooker which I was a little nervous about using.

    6) Decided to move some meetings around so that I go to Dubai for a week instead of 4 days... I am really looking forward to it!! :) Still need to sort the flights... and tell my boss that I am missing the monthly pricing meeting which is a three line whip to attend... oh well!

Night all - have a lovely evening.

morning! It's Thursday morning but will do Wednesday's pleasures which were of a more simple kind!
    1. Lazy morning. OH went back to work,I went back to bed! Must have been all that fresh, sea air from day before.
2.washing done, dried ,ironed & put away.
    3. Not strictly pleasurable ......however, encountered a spider in my cupboard which I use for towels etc.....first thought was eek! second thought was 'you're not on, this is my cupboard with my things in it' and I dealt with it, all by myself.
4.Went on my wii fit, first time since probably September when our things were all packed away.I had been using it daily, then had been in Australia for 5 weeks March /April, used it once in May & broke my toe (ouch) , so didn't use for weeks, then probably did a couple of weeks before it was packed. So back into a routine for me I think!
    5. Took our trees down (in the heat....had put them up on a really hot day too!), it has seemed strange to have a fully decorated tree up when it has been so sunny. I like to have my trees down by New Year anyway, so it's all done........keep finding 'needles' everywhere!
Lots of homes do the full works of light displays, inflatable santas, etc just like back home.

Keep warm while I try to keep cool, forecast for 29o.

    Evening everyone
Had a very quiet and lazy day - again! Still winding down in many ways from working/quick redundancy, and all the Christmas mixed emotions.
I'll have a go at thinking of 5 positives:-
    1) Good sleep - do find I sleep a lot better since I gave up work, as I don't spend time tossing and turning because of feeling stressed. It's exactly 4 weeks since I left the place, and I realise now just how much I disliked what my job had become
    2) Went out to local market town - such a pleasure driving on normal non icy roads again. Nice peaceful wander round - expect most people were fighting their way round busy shopping centres
    3) Looking forwards to a good night out new year's eve - is my friends birthday and am joining her and her family for a meal out at a great restaurant
    4) Can fit in to the dress I bought a few months back, which is what spurred me on to diet. Bought a size 14 - and can now wear it and it's just the right size :j:j:j
    5) Enjoying watching 'Who do you think you are' on Blighty - it's giving me the urge to trace my own ancestry - and I've now got the time to devote to it.

Hope everyone's well - hope your shoulder eases soon, Ladyhawk
