morning all (evening here!)
1.a nice cool breeze is blowing through the windows.......very much a pleasure.....and free!
2.went on bus into next town this am, with older 2 kids, who have finished school for holidays, the bus driver only gave me one return child ticket but had charged me for 2........however, he kindly stopped bus, walked up to find us & told us he had made a mistake, then walked back down got a new ticket & I met him half way!!
3.We are doing a family Secret Santa this year or Kris Kringle as it's called here.....however ,it's hardly secret as we have all worked out who's getting who...but we got everything today & got extra reductions at till which was an added bonus!
4.Had lunch with kids & laughed as my son had chosen hot chilli sauce instead of sweet chilli sauce on his sandwich! He couldn't stop smiling, obviously had some weird effect on his face muscles!! His mouth was on fire!
5.DD1 walked with me to get DD2 at school, nice to have the company & point out my 'landmarks'.
We had a simple tea of HM leek & potato soup, sandwiches & fruit and my dd2 & I are making a cheats caramel shortbread.
Hope you all stay warm while I stay cool & have a good day,

5 for yesterday (Tuesday).
1) Went to my bigger son's concert with my mum. He loves anything to do with drama and had the lead role (as Santa). I knew he had a solo and that he had been looking forward to it. However... I didn't know that he would be primary school's answer to Brian Blessed! And when he started his solo, his voice filled the school hall. :-) Really must get him in some local drama group, he is on the waiting list for quite a good one but needs something in the meantime.
2) Went home from the concert and got some odd jobs done.
3) Spoke to the school counselling lady and she was very nice and will see the boys in the new year.
4) Went for a walk. In the rain and near darkness!
5) Dropped MrN's son 5 off for his concert and had some pie and chips on the way home.
6) Felt a bit rough later on (very stressed this week with the ex's sentencing coming up on Friday etc) but MrN came round later. :-)0 -
Evening all.
Here's mine for today:
1) Another lie-in this morning, the last for this week as I'm back to work tomorrow.
2) Did a bit more Christmas shopping - I've only got a couple of things left to get now.
3) It snowed! It was nothing much, just a brief flurry of flakes, but it was snow. :snow_grin (For a couple of minutes, anyway, then it turned back into rain.)
4) My cat's been in cuddle mode today - every time I stop, he's there trying to climb into my lap.
5) Found some chicken thighs RTC, so I've made a chicken and ham pie with the remains of Sunday's gammon joint. (Meal plan? What meal plan?)
6) A possible pleasure - I've made an experimental loaf of oatmeal bread. I won't know if it's a success until I slice it tomorrow, but it looks quite promising.
7) I've still got an episode of Edwardian Farm sitting on iplayer waiting for me to watch it, so that's my plan for tonight.
Have a nice evening, all.Back after a very long break!0 -

Evening all,
Hope you are all well. I'm still snuffly and coughy but so far I have managed to avoid the full on nasty cold that everyone else seems to have had.
MHags - spiders are why I have not visited Australia yet... I am petrified of them!
Villagelife - Babotie is one of my childhood meals... I hate eggs but like babotie
1) Final session with my councellor. She has really helped me put things in perspective for myself. Though my demons have not been vanquished yet, I think tha I have taken some steps towards this end goal. I'm not a bad person, I just have to chill slightly and stop being a control freak. I have spent my whole life building barriers to stop people discovering the real me that it is actually quite scary letting go once in a while. She is left me with a few things to work on and think about.
2) Went to MrA on my way home. I picked up loads of YS goodies including a gorgeous 350g mature, organic sirloin steak which I cooked for supper. Oh my... it was was fabulous! I very rarely cook myself steak so it was such a treat. It was washed down with a bottle of cider...
3) Positive, happy day
4) Lunch provided FOC after a meeting. Yummy falafel wraps an fresh fruit.
5) Managed to get my emails right down to 85 in my inbox - which is vaguely manageable. I am particularly pleased with the face the were quite a few on one particular topic which was really annoying me, and they just wouldn't take no for an answer and then copied in my boss to the emails. My boxx then started giving me hassle. I got the hell in with them all and have esculated it to a level that they definitely will regret. Not nice I know - but I had tried to be reasonable and they had pushed the wrong buttons!
Anyway I need to get to bed - i need my beauty sleep for the party tomorrow night and I have an early start. I will hopefully get some nice photo's of the dress and will try to post one.
Night night
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
Evening all -
Was preoccupied with other things yesterday and didn't post - tricky kind of a day - but here's my five for Wednesday:
1. The house is quite a bit cleaner, thanks to DSs' help.
2. Bought DS1's g/f a really lovely Xmas present - inspired - even though I say it myself, and I found one of last year's left over spare Xmas cards to give to her parents. I haven't bought or made any cards this year so it was a relief to find I'd still got some left over for moments like this.
3. Saw my parents and started to raid my mum's stash of knitting needles. I've 'borrowed' all the double pointed ones to go through first of all (there are handfuls!) My mum can't knit anymore because of arthritis and, as well as her own needles, she also has those that belonged to my gran who was an avid knitter. I'm going to fill the gaps in my collection so that I have a complete set. I love using practical things that used to belong to gran.
4. Opened a tin of biscuits we'd been given as a thank-you present. Lovely thought of the people, and lovely biscuits too. I've eaten far too many while typing this.
5. DS2 making very funny jokes when we were driving in the car - he was on very good form today.
Sweet dreams

I really am late tonight, been sweating over an online visa form and practically having to research my great-grannies blood group for it! What they want to know is astonishing, I only want to go for a 15-day holiday!
So just a quick one to say Big hugs to everyone, wishing all the poorlies better NOW, and to dash off my 5
1. nsd
2. nsd (no snow day)
3. Christmas is all wrapped up, I calculate it's only cost me £40/50 in actual cash :T
4. Good evening out with friends, always fun and lots of laughter
5. Having sorted out my summer clothes, found I've no need to search for new sun dresses for my holiday, I have 5 (!) already. Now I just have to lose 3 stone between now and 4th Feb to get them on :rotfl:
Ah well, a girl can dream...
Night night, sleep tight

Wednesday's goodies
1. Thanks for the get well soon wishes, I feel dreadfulBut the pleasure is, I took the day off work and spent most of it asleep which I obviously needed as I only woke up briefly once, think I'll be doing the same again today though....
2. DD looked after me fantastically in the evening, made me her first but also the best ever banana milkshake. It's always my tonic of choice for any time I'm ill, used to be made by my mummy dearest and now DD has taken over, never the same when you make it yourself, has to be made with love
3. Silly texts with a friend about a planned night out on Friday. I've got to be better by then!! DD has a sleepover, I have a rare evening out with the girls!!!
4. DD also made our dinner of hummous and salad, what a great girl
5. Low spend day, only bought bread for DD's sandwiches.
6. No snow day, thanks Sparrer for the inspiration0
