Well after a few days of the awful "Kevin" reappearing I sort of shut myself off & only dealt with the necessary. However, after talking to his year head he is now seeing a councillor & having anger management see below:
1) DS (& the d now stands for darling) after two sessions with aforementioned councillor is a different person :T even his sister has commented & you know what siblings are like  long may this carry on.
2) DP bought me flowers just because he hasn't for ages& gave them to me saying "before you say we can't afford them, they were half price" :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
3) Have rejoined the library & have enjoyed some new books this week.
4) Reading on another thread that a certain young lady won a fabulous prize that will set her up for xmas & a debt free new year. She is so deserving of it & it's nice to know there is some good luck out there still
5) Reading if not posting on this thread. It really is a mood booster :beer:Sometimes not moving backwards is as much an achievement as moving forwards is on other times. (originally posted by kidcat)
It's only a bargain if you were going to buy it anyway!0 -

4) Managed to sort out food for the week for £23

Not posted on here for a few weeks....:o
1. A lovely slice of toast and butter from our 2 day old homemade loaf. (OMG, it gets so crispy):)
2. And a mug of tea.
3. Me and DH, meeting my dd and her b/f and my son, his wife and my two grand daughters, for a late lunch at a pizza restaurant.. the food was good and the company was even better. :kisses:
4. An impromptu dancing and singing routine by the two girlies. They crack me up:rotfl:
5. Back home with DH, a few ales and glasses of wine, in my case, and the telly.:D
Had a really good day, (((hugs to all who need them))) and enjoy the rest of the weekend.
Sleep tight.:AFelines are my favourite

Wow, what a day! A fantastic meeting with Caterina, Minihauk, Purpleclutterbuck, JackieO & Annie123
1. a good friend ran me to the station, had a straightforward jouney as both my changes were well spaced so plenty of time to catch each trian
2. walked into M&S where Caterina and I had arranged to meet and I was like a homing pigeon, she was the first person I saw and I knew her straight away
3. Lunch was the yummiest f & c, you'd have to taste it to appreciate how good it was. My small portion could almost have done me two meals. Tried mushy peas for the first time ever, not quite sure I liked them so will just have to try again
4. I found space for tea and cake (2 pieces) in the afternoon at the fascinating Reminiscence Centre, couldn't resist!
5. Came away with two books I'd not read, and some calendula seeds
6. JackieO kindly gave me a lift back to the station
7. Was sent to the wrong platform, then had 4 minutes to get to the right one, hence being very puffed and not feeling my best. The train was packed, standing room only, but a very kind railway worker who was on his way home let me sit in the empty First Class carriage! I did feel a bit conspicuous with everyone looking at me throught the glass door but what a great end to a really super day :j
Got home, sat down with a cuppa and promptly fell asleep until 20 minutes ago
* just to clarify, my name is sparrow as in Cockney sparrer not someone who fights! I'm a pacifist
Hugs to alll who need or just want
Sweet dreams

Evening all,
Glad it sounds like most of you have been having a lovely day.:j
Mine has been expensive... my car cost £600 today getting the fly wheel fixed. The mechanic wasn't sure that this would sort out the problem so fingers crossed. I am now overdrawn on my currently account  so it is going to have to be a very frugal 2 weeks for me until I get paid.
1) While I was waiting for my car to be hopefully fixed I gave blood. For once I did not have to have a fight with them about my medical history and beg them to let me donate. They have changed the forms so that they are a little more logical. I also managed to bleed a full pint which I often don't manage to because I have such teeny weeny veins.
2) Wandered around town for an hour and a half and didn't spend any money.
3) Made some chocolate truffles for my dear friend who I was having dinner with tonight
4) Having dinner with said friend and meeting his new boyfriend (well they have been together for 9 months but this was the first time the boyfriend has been introduced to any of his straight friends). They fed me far too much but it was all nice.
5) My flat regaining some semblance of order. All the cleaning and tidying is paying off. All I need to do is clean the bathroom, mop the kitchen floor and finish tidying my bedroom (I have done the cupboards so far).
6) Finished sorting my paperwork - what a chore! I also shredded everything so it is ready to take to work on Monday to dispose of with their confidential waste.
7) My team won the rugby and it was a really exciting game. :T
Night night everyone.
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
Evening everyone!
Glad to hear the OS meet up was such a success :j I once met up with a friend I'd made online through a mutual interest - it was interesting how well we got on and seemed to know each other even though we'd only met for the first time!
Pleasures from the last couple of days:-
1)Still feeling a bit bruised by my brothers' thoughlessness on Thursday, but had a good day out with a friend yesterday. (they say, we can choose our friends, but not our family)
2) Have commenced operation cut down /phase out of antidepressants (day 5 today). Am going to do it really gradually over several weeks as per GP's advice, and so far, so good
3) Playing with my craft stuff, making more Xmas cards
4) Lovely sunny day here today and no more gales! Was awful the other day, wasn't it - still amazed the roof and tiles are still in place!
5) Enjoying fitting in clothes again that I haven't been able to wear in ages.
Hope all are well,
Pam x0 -
Haven't posted for a couple of days as have a bad cold and feeling really tired and just managing to go the essentials.
1. A couple of NSD's one benefit of being unwell
2. A lecture at work with food on Thursday evening. I was expecting a buffet not a 3 course meal. It was also Friday when I started to feel poorly.
3. Changed the covers on my sofa and chairs and it makes the house seem so much cosier.
4. Watching strictly and x factor curled up on the sofa.
5. DS2 being understanding and cooking on Friday evening.0 -
Ugh, yesterday was a really bad day. First, I seem to have lost the confidence when I passed my driving test as nothing seems to be right! Then, I found that I'd got the date wrong for the comedian we were supposed to see and had missed him! 2 very emotional crying sessions yesterday - only over trivial things - but I wouldn't mind something going right today!
A few things which were OK:
1. DH bought me a little air freshener in the shape of a heart. He is trying to reassure me, the sweetheart.
2. Cups of tea.
3. Realising that with my current Christmas plans, there is room for me to experiment with a turkey leg to make a festive chowder.
4. Watching Night at the Museum from LoveFilm. That's a good movie.
5. It didn't rain!
Hope everyone has a good day. I've got more driving to do today, and it's making me nervous. :S

I had an extra good thing happen last night ,youngest DD phoned to say if you haven't started your dinner come round as they were going to have a celebration take-away curry as she had got paid from her new job plus on Friday the cleaner hadn't turned up and the boss said as it was a bit quiet if her and the other lass would whip the hoover round the offices they could split the cleaners money between them She said yes no problem and came home £25.00 better off, (I can't believe how much this firm pay for a cleaner for two hours work!!) which paid for the take-away.It's so rare they ever have one, as there are 7 of them (well six last night as DGD was out with her BF) so I shared in their gook luck.Got home in time to watch the service on t.v. and listen to that lovely choirgirl and her beautiful voice singing 'You are not alone ' very moving I thought.0

Kitchenbunny We are both up early today! I also had a bit of a meltdown yesterday.
What a shame about missing the comedian, I know you were looking forward to it! Really hope your driving goes much better today.
Villagelife GET WELL SOON! Hope you are now on the mend from the cold and feeling so low. What colour covers have you gone for on the sofa and chairs I wonder? I am imagining claret...!
Frugalpam Great news about cutting down on the tablets- when I was prescribed them they made me so tired and groggy too...Well done on the losing weight, I need to really get myself sorted out as have put on about a stone recently. Are you following a set plan?
Ladyhawk OUCH! re your car! Hope you manage to make ends meet after that shocking amount. Your evening out sounded lovely- hope your friends enjoyed the homemade truffles. Are they easy to make?
Sparrer What a brilliant day out! I wish I lived closer to London. What a lovely little picture I have of you sitting somewhat sheepishly in the first class carriage.
Niksyg How lucky you are to live near the sea!Where do you shop to manage to bring in a week's food for £23?!!! I am very, very impressed.
Jax46 Amazing and fantastic news re.the counselling sessions for your DS.:T Long may it continue to have such an effect. Really loved your OH's comment on giving you the flowers..my mum always manages to tell me things like "don't worry it was from the second hand shop"!
Patchwork Quilt What a relief you dealt with the issue with the neighbours car so swiftly and it is resolved- I tend to worry about things like that terribly, sounds like you do too! Your skirt outfit sounds really pretty, I hardly ever wear one so will make an effort this week!
CCP Loved your account of postie most miffed that you could not enlighten him about parcel address :rotfl: Glad you had a good day!
Beachbaby We LOVE meatballs in our house and often have them with Nigella's Mellow Meatballs recipe, its warm and spicy but DD still enjoys it. (she usually won't touch curry or even a mild sweet and sour!)
Caterina Thank you for all the detail about the OS meet- sounds a lovely day. Wish I lived nearer. How lovely to return to the knowledge that your OH had been beavering away at the allotment in your absence.
BlimusOreilly Well done on getting so many things crossed off your to do list- on my lists when I was younger I always used to put "write a list" as my first task so that was one thing easily crossed off, lol.
Frith Really sorry to hear about your horrible letters- when I get bad news it always seems to come in a rush of lots of horrid things together.Hope that's all your bad stuff out of the way for AGES now! Good to hear DS likes Beavers, even if you did practically freeze in the car waiting for him! :snow_laug
beachbaby Sounds like you had a lovely day, were those mince pies your first of the year? Always make me feel really festive. :santa2:
Back in a mo for my pleasures for yesterday- before I lose all this!0
