  • olliebeak What an absolutely lovely post you posted very early this morning! I very much enjoyed reading it..........and agreed with every word :D;)

    1) Reading olliebeak's post

    2) A lovely day.......lots of sun, not a cloud in the sky but a bit cold

    3) One of my clients spoiling me with a very yummy and warming bowl of Morrocan soup

    4) Actually exchanging a few civil words with Kevin :j (the hormonal teenager.....renamed by olliebeak) :rotfl:

    5) Off to have a bit of a pamper session...........bath/shave/lots of (expensive) moisturiser/paint toe & finger nails. Oh and wash/condition/blow dry hair. Then off to bed and hopefully sleep so I'm refreshed enough to enjoy my day out with a friend in Leamington Spa tomorrow.

    Evening peeps.

I haven't had a great day today - my committee was even more yawnsome than I expected, and the free lunch turned out to be one round each of slightly stale, cheap sliced bread sandwiches. Yum, I don't think. ;)

    Oh..........how disappointing :(

    I'll try for five, though:

    1) The sports team which came to do a presentation to the committee was entirely made up of easy-on-the-eye fellas. I'll take that as a minor consolation for the dullness of the meeting. :rotfl:

    :D;)Every cloud CCP...........every cloud

    2) NSD.

    :T Well done

    3) The landlord's repair man phoned during the meeting, and when I phoned him back he was at lunch (typical!), but we finally got in touch with each other and he's coming round tomorrow to try and fix my leaky sink. Fingers crossed for no more washing up in the bath after tomorrow.

    Let's hope it get's sorted

    4) Not very OS, but I switched the heating on when I got home - naughty, but I was so chilly I couldn't face waiting three hours for it to come on as scheduled. Now I'm nice and warm. :D

When the house is really cold, just putting it on for 1/2 hr can warm it up a fair bit. It's no good feeling really chilly.

    5) Another freezer dinner tonight. The freezer's definitely starting to look emptier now.

    That's

Ollie - right, that's golden syrup on my shopping list for Friday. ;):D I haven't had porridge with golden syrup in ages, and I'll have to try it again now you've mentioned it. Good thinking on the Freegle breadmaker, too - I'd really like to get a brand new one in the new year sales, but a Freegle one could tide me over until then, and I can always put it back on there when I get my new one.

dundeedoll - - what a lot of bargains you got there! That's amazing going!

Have a pleasant evening, all. :)

Yes I was very pleased! :)

  • Here are mine for today:
    1) Driving home this evening it was a gorgeous starry night, there was a picture perfect golden crescent moon on one side of the road and looking out to sea on the other side of the road were all the distant rigs and ships all lit up on the horizon. Including a very exciting looking tall crane type ship that was lit up like a spaceship. Had it not been so freezing I may have pulled up somewhere to have a longer look ;)
    2) Another NSD.
    3) Finally finished a contract on a pay monthly mobile. It was only £10 per month with lots of benefits but we hardly used it so a waste of money.
    4) Made some turkey fajitas with guacamole (from The Secret Takeaway book) for dinner. Very nice.
    5) We have a fire going and I'm going to go and sit by it and try and finish my library book.

Have a good evening all :)

    Evening all,

I have had a lovely day just chilling at home.

    1) No work!

    2) NSD

    3) Smell of my lovely clean washing

    4) Cleaning my bedroom windows

    5) Booking an appointment to see someone about challenging my demons - a relief that I am finally doing somthing about it.

    Have a lovely evening everyone.

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

Good evening (or rather, morning :o ) everyone!
Just finished my 2 days at work - wow, even 2 days stresses me out, with all the job pressures etc  Its taken me some time to unwind this evening, so this is the perfect time to reflect on my pleasures this past few days:-

    1) Having a good read in this thread. I love hearing about everyone else's pleasures and again, it makes me re-examine all the good things in my life that I often overlook
    2) Puddy tat is fully recovered after a few days of being so lethargic. She was bouncing up and down on the windowsill when she saw me driving up the drive and I got lots of fuss when I came in the house
    3) My 2 days work torture is done for another 5 days :j
    4) I realised my trousers/skirts are just too loose now and I bought some new trousers today (not very 'Old style' but an absolute necessity) a whole size smaller :D
    5) Ive got to grips with weight watchers new diet plan and love it. I dont feel hungry ever, and a sneaky look on the scales today 3 days after weigh in and Ive lost half a lb

Thanks for the congrats on my weight loss and for good wishes for puddy tat, much appreciated! I hope everyone who's under the weather or has worries feels much better soon,

    Must get to bed now,
    Pam x

I seem to have lost the plot over the past couple of days so forgive me if I don't seem to be replying or commenting, I will try to keep up in future!

Ollie it's so good to see proper 'Ollie posts'...please don't stop them unless you don't have time :)
Kitchenbunny belated congrats on passing your test :T, as the others said now they've taught you to do that you have to teach yourself to drive
Ginger Snap you don't by any chance hire your OH out, do you? ;)
CCP yes, she one of my 4 bestest friends, she fed me chocolate and I felt a little better about Kefi (my car, so called as 'her' reg is KE51). Congrats on the AF order, always a warm feeling to save so much :D. A bit of eye candy can do wonders for a boring meeting...
Introuble good to hear a friend got the managers job, always great to work for someone you know and trust:)
Tealady you had a manically busy day at work, did ironing, windows and kitchen? Good grief woman we'll be sainting you! ;)
Blimus I hate to say it but you're wrong, sponge pud is very necessary, along with chocolate and jaffy cakes :D. Your mentioning the fire brought back lovely memories of when the DC came home from school and we had tea and toasted crumpets done on the fire. Long time ago now though
Caterina I can just imagine the pleasure you got from the cuddly, giggly baby :D. Was she one of 'yours'? How nice to be invited for the Christmas do, shows how appreciated you are
Ladyhawk I was sorry to hear about the unhappy freecycler, I put two people together once and they were both grateful. The one you dealt with was hardly in the helping, passing on etc., spirit. Hope it doesn't stop you using fc :)
dundeedoll, thanks, not even a write-off will stop me going on Saturday ;). Your bargains are super, very MS, well done. Moroccan soup sounds delish
Frith pleased to hear you sounding a little brighter, and to know your son's recovering :)
frugalpam well done on the weight loss! A super [STRIKE]excuse[/STRIKE] reason to buy new clothes

    1. Postie brought me £15 vouchers for surveys, and 6 packets of crisps to trial :D
    2. I have a courtesy car until the payment comes through, and it doesn't have 'crash repairs' written all over it!
    3. Discovered that by buying on line I can save £3.50p on a return fare to London
    4. Soc Servs are coming to see about putting lever taps in the kitchen and bathroom. In the same vein the GP is making a referral to physio for me
    5. Been invited to a big band evening next week, my aren't I getting out and about!

    Night night, sweet dreams

Haven't posted for a couple of days but my five are

    1. Managing to walk my dog in the dry and listening to owls.

2.A meeting at work being quite enjoyable.

    3. couple of NSD's

    4. Managed not to go shopping this week - must go today though

    5. Reading all the posts on here
  • Thanks for all the congratulations. :) I feel as if a big weight has been lifted now I don't have to pay for lessons any more. I know cars have their own costs (and I'm dreading getting insurance :/ ) but one step at a time, eh? :)

    My pleasures for yesterday:

    1. Seeing Mum & Dad, and spending time with them and my sister. And the atmosphere was nice, beef stew for tea, and we spent longer than intended so didn't go shopping.
    2. Getting a congrats card and a Flake from a colleague. Made me smile.
    3. Am actually making the most of public transport.
    4. Getting my OS head back on.
    5. Looking forward to a comedian we're going to see at the weekend. I'd booked it ages ago but forgot.

Hope everyone is OK. I'm off to work now and can hear the rain pelting down - no umbrella today though as it is so windy. Good job I've got a mac, but here's hoping it's warm enough! Have a good day. (((enthusiastic hugs)))

  • A quick few pleasures from yesterday before I go to work this morning...

    1. Had an email from friend (who had got me the tutoring contact) to say the girl's mum said I was lovely and she was so happy I was tutoring her daughter! Made me feel so warm and appreciated. :)

    2. Lovely weather yesterday, sunny and clear and still. Went for a walk with OH to the wooded hill across the road from the house. A bit steep in places (I realised how unfit I am!) but FREE and close by. Unlike Westonbirt Arboretum where he suggested we go- £18 joint admission and an hour drive or more.

    3. Got lots of little jobs done during the day (a day off work) including going to to the bank, buying animal bedding and feed, filling up with fuel etc. An expensive day but got lots achieved.

    4. Feeling, touch wood, more like myself lately and less stressed and out of control. Long may it last.

More later, have a really good day everyone. :)
