Evening
Pleasures for today:
1. Getting organised this morning before work and preparing a meatball and pasta bake for tonight as knew I was going to be in late so just needed to go in the oven.
2. Also made a bakewell tart so in DD's good books
3. Didn't go out at lunch time as needed to cover reception for an hour so didn't spend any money
4. Cacthing up with a friend at a parents meeting at DD's school and her giving us a lift home so didn't get wet and saved on the train fare
5. Receiving my ISA statement, I can't remember being able to save this much since we paid the deposit on the house 15 years ago:money:
Hugs to all who need them0 -
5 for today (Tues).
1) Going to mum and dad's and having fruit cake and Wensleydale. (spelling?)
2) Picking damsons that I left in MrN's breadmaker, hoping the jam programme works!
3) Looking after children next door for a while, making them some fairy cakes and their tea.
4) My brother and sister coming over bringing and Indian take away.
5) Coming up to bed and finding smaller son in here already with a story he has written about going to see some planets. :-) He must have written in whilst in bed and its very rare he would CHOOSE to write anything.
Apart from all the above, I am feeling a bit odd tonight. MrN has not come round and I think its the first evening he has stayed at home for about a month. :-( I know he is very tired and has a lot on his plate at the moment (and he did tell me he probably wouldn't pop round). Its been strange being on my own (although I managed well enough for 5 years before he came along!). Maybe the jam setting on his breadmaker didn't work and he's actually spent the whole evening cleaning damson jam off the ceiling and cursing my bright idea!0 -
My five for yesterday are
1. Making some apple and mint jelly and it turning out ok.
2. Walking the dog just after the hedgerows had been cut. Its a lovely smell.
3. Managing to help someone out at work as they were totally snowed under and were continually being given more to do.
4. Being asked to work Thursday morning so more money and as working Thursday afternoon no hassle.
5. DS2 enjoying helping others in a PE session after school and wanting to do it every week.
6. DS1 updating his CV before he goes to uni so he can start looking for part time work as soon as he gets there.
It was a good day yesterday with lots of laughs aswell

No post yesterday as I was aching in places I didn't know I had places and coughing like nobodies business. I'd say it was a cold coming on but in reality it was more likely the effects of Monday's workout after shirking too often, so sadly I can't look for any sympathy
Yesterdays 5
1. sitting cosily wrapped in my comfort dressing gown while the wind and rain did it's worst outside
2. Enjoying reading the posts. I went back several months and it was lovely, so many similar to today's and nice to see some of the old names there...I often wonder what and how they're doing these days
3. Hm chicken soup from the freezer with hm 50/50 bread for lunch. Delicious!
4. Postie brought me a sample of face cream, I must have enough creams and lotions to last me a year or two now but haven't found the miracle one yet
5. Put a wash on econ7 before I went to bed. I so like my new wm with the timer, what a difference it makes now I don't have to sit up and wait to turn the wm on
Have a good day everybody

Good morning!:D
Mine for yesterday were..
1. Cooking a tasty scrambled egg, bacon, tomato and potato farl brunch of DH and I, still in our caravan.
2. Went for a rummage around the shops in Great Yarmouth, got some of that self sealing white strip to redo the inside of the door frames, at home and a few other bits and bobs.
3. Bought a kilo of oxtail at the market there for £4.00, enough for 4 meals, cooked it last night and will take it home tomorrow in the cooler bag, so that we will have a nice home cooked supper when we get back home.
4. Had a bowl of really delicious watermelon. Yummy.:j
5. A really warm snuggly sleep in our duvet and flannel sheeting "nest". Got to start packing to go home tomorrow.:(Felines are my favourite

Nighty night... have a great Thursday
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -

1) Another NSD.
2) Quite a nice day for most of the day. Got the washing dry on the line just before it started raining early evening.
3) Home made bbq baked beans in the slow cooker.

Evening all.
parsonswife - I love oxtail but I've never tried cooking it myself - is it difficult to cook, or is it just like doing a normal stew? If it's quite straightfoward I'll have to have a go at doing some over the winter - it's such nice cold weather food.
sparrer - sorry to hear you're not well, and hope you're feeling much brighter by now.
Frith - I hope your jam came out OK and didn't redecorate Mr N's kitchen!
My pleasures for today:
1) A discussion at work about favourite childhood meals. It was very interesting, but left us all ravenously hungry despite it only being an hour or so since lunch.
2) Finally got round to re-filling the windscreen wash on my car, which has been empty since the weekend.
3) Lent the key to my gas meter box to a new neighbour who has just moved in and doesn't have one yet.
4) Picked another mountain of HG tomatoes, and managed to salvage a couple which had been slugged, but will be fine for my ketchup experiment now I've chopped off the chewed bits.
5) HM prawn curry for dinner. It was meant to be egg curry but the eggs proved to be off, so it turned into a dig through the freezer to see what else I had. It wasn't bad for a last minute substitution, either.
Have a nice evening, everyone.Back after a very long break!0
