    Evening

Zara - I hope things improve for you soon

Pleausres for the last couple of days:

    Friday
    1. collected free box of shortbread from waitrose with a voucher that was sent in the post
    2. Wander into town at lunchtime with a work friend
    3. Bought my mum a lovely handbag to put away for christmas that I was going to buy her anyway but managed to get 30% off so made it much more afffordable. :money: Another present to cross off the list.
    4. Easy dinner of left over HM chicken fried rice followed by the guilty pleasure of chocolate angel delight with chocolate buttons in it and served with a shortbread biscuit. Not gourmet I know but still popular in this house.
    5. Ordering a top I wanted from Next as had a £10 voucher to spend online

    Saturday
    1. Milk man delivery this morning which included a large free box of biscuits. Will go away in the cupboard to use as a present for someone.
    2. Cup of tea and breakfast in bed with the newspapers
    3. Had a flare up of RSI in my wrist again today so finally gave in and bought a granny trolley :o. I don't drive so have to carry my weekly shopping home from the supermarket so it makes sense but DD and OH are having such fun laughing at me. The pleasure is at least it cost much less than thought as was in the sale.
    4. OH and DD went to the driving range so I sat in the bar with a soda water (free) and read my book in the peace.
    5. Looking forward to taking DD to the Help for Heroes concert tomorrow at Twickenham. Sad I know but cant wait to see Robbie Williams.

Hugs to all who need them

  • Hello everyone

Zara - I am so sorry you are feeling so low. You sound like a very strong and relilient woman who has raised your children in difficlut circumstances. You should be proud of yourself and what you have achieved.

    Here are today's 5

    1. Made strange looking but great tasting green tomato chutney.
    2. Enjoying buying big bags of cheap veg at our local Indian supermarket. It smells great.
    3. A cafetiere of fresh coffee with breakfast.
    4. Reading a rubbish book in bed.
    5. Having a walk in the dark after dinner.

Thank you for all being so kind about my cat. The other 2 keep looking for her - sad.

    Sleep tight, all x

  • Ginger (((hugs))) I'm so sorry about your cat.
GirlySquare - Good news about your mum. A relief for you all.
Zara (((hugs))) to you too. I hope things improve soon and that you can see more positives to life.
    Primrose - Happy wedding anniversary.:D
CCP - Mmmm about your gin and rum. I'm not much of a drinker but the fruity ones are always lovely at Christmas.
pink-numbers - I know what you mean about making dumplings. I made some cheesy dumplings earlier in the week and everyone loved them so much that they've been requested with every meal! :rotfl:

    Here are mine for today:
    1) Had a lovely day today 'day camping' with some of our local home-ed community.
    2) The weather held out.
    3) One of the parents bought their giant bubble maker and everyone (kids and adults alike) were totally in awe.
    4) I made a very rubber spag bol that fed everyone!
    5) A NSD. Simple pleasures - all for free. The best type of day out.
    6) DH took some really lovely pictures in the woods.
    7) Foraging for mushrooms and checking in the Richard Mabey book to see if they were safe! One of the mums made an omelette with them. Years of conditioning won't yet allow me to try wild mushrooms yet!
    8) Marshmallows on sticks over the campfire.
    9) My hair still smelling of campfire smoke.
    10) Looking forward to going back tomorrow.

Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
A really quiet day, typical 'single person' weekend. I could have gone to a meeting of my fellowship this evening but after a long day doing little I couldn't find the oomph.
Hoping everyone with worries is coping, keeping you in my thoughts and prayers

    my 5 -
    1. a lie-in til 8.45am
    2. Long lazy shower. I ignored the phone twice, no-one interrupts when the water is belting onto my shoulders, I could fall asleep if I wasn't standing up! And I have an answerphone so they can always leave a message if they really must ;)
    3. Hm bread and marmalade for breakfast
    4. Lots of fiddly jobs done, ceilings/door tops/frames dusted with the tickling stick, brushes and combs washed, vacuumed the mattress when I stripped the bed, etc, etc. Always satisfying when everything is ticked off the list :)
    5. Treated myself to a curry from the excellent local curry house. Not at all OS but I now have a couple more plastic containers for freezer use :o

    Night night, sleep tight everyone

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

    1. Had a lovely holiday, hot and sunny and relaxing.

    2. Been back a week but have been looking for a a house for DS1 to rent whilst at uni and he found one yesterday! Such a relief and sharing with three others whom he liked.
