Frith hope things settle down soon
savingforoz the kittens are fine, they fill their day by eating and sleeping followed by having bar-room brawls around the house
Gingerjar hope you're feeling better soon
Mine for today:
1) 10 minute workout followed by 10 minutes fast step on the Wii
2) cuddles from dd
3) liking the mindfulness cd
4) long 'phone call with poorly work friend, catching up and arranging a visit this weekend
5) The Gadget Show is on now"We have to be kind because everyone is fighting a great, great battle" - Sir Richard Attenborough
"There is a special place in hell for women who don't help other women" - Madeleine Albright0 -
Evening all,
Hope you are not too damp this evening!
Such a busy and long day... in the office at 8am and only left at 8.30pm with no lunch
1) I managed to get my emails down from 280 to 128... I hate having more than 100 in my inbox
2) Making more jam!! I am just boiling up the last of the damsons which I will pop into the freezer until I get a chance to make it properly
3) NSD
4) Yummy curry from the freezer with savoy cabbage and sweetcorn - surprisingly delish!
5) Finally getting round to booking my haircut in preparation for my birthday drinks on Saturday night... I have been meaning to do that for ages
Nighty night
Sleep tight
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
Happy upcoming birthday Ladyhawk!
1) Left over pasta and salad for lunch. Same again tomorrow but I really enjoyed it. Plus four home grown plums.
2) DH helped me to organise my laptop and taught himself something in the process that will save him some time at work.
3) A found-it-in-the-fridge curry and baked rice for tea, with fairy cakes afterwards. Eggs donated by SIL.
4) Found a plastic bag in our bin. It only had paper in, so I saved it. Since we've been using proper bags for the shopping, a plastic bag is a rare and wonderful thing. Will now have to train DS into putting them in the bag of bags under the stairs.
5) DS's gf has promised to bring back all the weeny jam jars she has been accumulating.0 -
Frith I really hope things go as they should with your ex tomorrow...and I've noticed there have been a lot of late night posts just after Mr Neighbour has gone home
. Good for you, enjoy life it's the only one we get! Hope all works out well with all the boys after school, too
Tealady you're brave, I turned off U be Dead. The sausage sandwich breakfast sounds yummy
savingforoz congratulations on finding tenants for the house, a great relief for you :T.
Gingerjar get well soon. Nothing like relaxing in jimmies when you need the comfort. Not sure I like the dark evenings
parsonswife congratulations to your daughter and her boyfriend. There's something so special about grandchildren's hugs, isn't there?
GirlySquare well done on the Wii and workout. Gadget show is good, isn't it? Trouble is I so often forget it's on
lol Ladyhawk I get confused if I have more than a dozen or so emails in my in box! You're burning the candle at both ends with more than 12 hour days, jam making and goodness knows whate else. Do make sure you have some 'me time'
Patchwork I so agree about plastic bags, I used to have loads but they're like gold dust these days so have to make sure I get the best use from them
my 5
1. Visited DD this morning, saw DGS who had an unexpected day at home as his college course starts tomorrow, not today as he thought. Hope he remembers to turn up on the right days in future!
2. Called in to see the physio who runs the pulm rehab course and arranged to go back for my third course of exercises :j next Monday - better start practising again so I'm fit on the day
3. Stopped at the farm shop to get some chicken wings for muttley's breakfast (of course he's not in the least bit spoiled!), they were clearing out the freezers to clean them and gave me two bags for the price of one
4. Had a good evening out with friends despite having to drive in the dark and rain.
5. Just watched the last episode of the Bill which I missed last week when someone came to my door. Had hoped it would be on the replay thingy but it wasn't. Just flicking through the channels tonight and there it was :T
Night night (((hugs))) all round

5 for today (Monday).
1) Going to Worcester to pick up my brother's birthday present.
2) Getting the demijohns and gin ready for damson gin making tomorrow.
3) Managing to look after everyone and make tea in a strange kitchen.
4) Watching part of Halcyon River Diaries.
5) MrN popping round.
Bad news though - I appear to have dislocated my little finger on my left hand, on the knuckle at the base of my finger. I have lots of nerve damage in that hand anyway and very little movement (bad break many years ago) so that arm is always trailing and getting caught/bashing against things. I am not sure how to get it back in the right place! When I bend all the other fingers, the little one is just sticking out straight and won't bend at all. :-(0 -
Morning
Savingforoz - Well done on finding tenants for your house
Frith - Ouch for your finger
Pleasures for yesterday:
1. NSD, haven't been many of these lately so long overdue
2. HM carrot soup for lunch with a YS bread roll
3. No cooking last night as just myself and DD so we had plastic pot suprise which turned out to be ravoili to start, then small portion of chicken curry and bakewell tart to finish, yummy
4. Saw friend's DD and her DGD to help with an application form. Had a cuddle off the baby whilst there and my DD was so good with her.
5. Good day at work with lots of little things cleared off desk that have been lurking
Hugs to all who need them0 -
I am just about to read back, so ((HUGS)) to anyone who needs them. Here are my pleasures for yesterday:
- Posted my first 4 ebay parcels after my declutter.
- Took DD for a wander round the park. It was a wonderful sight as the flower beds were immaculate, all in bloom and buzzing with bees!
- DD went on the swings for the first time - she loved it.
- No spend day.
- Another 1lb weight loss.Value of prizes 2010 - 2017: £8374 Wins 2022: Magic set
Debt free thanks to MSE0 -
1. Nice walk, bumping to various people we know.
2. Collected another batch of books from the library - comfort for those forecast rainy days.
3. Picked MORE beans, tomatoes & courgettes, & froze the beans. Tomatoes in some form for lunch.
4. Enjoying a squirrel in the garden pinching some hazel nuts which I'd recenty foraged on a walk which I'd collected especially for my 'garden wildlife cafe'.
5. Letter telling me I owed the tax man £154. Not really a pleasure but it could have been worse and at least I have the money available to pay it.0
