Thanks for the recipes, they're in my folder too now"We have to be kind because everyone is fighting a great, great battle" - Sir Richard Attenborough

Hi everyone - have finally made the move back to Yorkshire and am LOVING it - so this would have to be in my top 5! However when you move 2.5 large houses into one house the boxes multiply and I am drowning in them. Got my eldests room done today - tomorrow is my youngests turn. Our room is still a tip, but I managed to find a sofa today!
Cleared out the dining room, but not the table top - will save that for a rainy day! Kitchen looks like a bomb hit it, but Im getting there.
Top 5:
1 - being back in my own home with my dogs and my kids.
2 - having a lovely time at my Father In Laws 70th birthday over the weekend.
3 - having to have BBQ because the cooker in the kitchen is buried under packing paper!
4 - hearing the boys laugh with their little friend over the road.
5 - watching the meteores (spelling?) the other night - I saw one!!!Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0 -
Am feeling poorly again and trying not to be miserable with it. I'm collecting DS1 from sports training in town then going to get an early-ish night.
Quick five for today:
1. Yet more sunshine and real heat. Didn't realise it was going to be this warm where we are and went out too wrapped-up. Looking at the forecast, I think we've had the whole week's worth of good weather in one go but it was lovely while it lasted.
2. Got my washing out first thing and decided to do my bedding and pyjamas as well so got all that lot washed and dried and smelling scrumptious too. Bed will be a treat tonight.
3. Got a piece of work sent off which I'm glad to see the back of!
4. Had some brainwaves about presents I want to give.
5. I'm sitting here trying to find a fifth for today and decided that sometimes it's just really important to remember to give thanks for my children, a roof over our heads, food on the table...
Sleep well.

Well, its been a good day!
Here's my 5.
1) Boys went to their father's so I did the usual tidying up/washing etc quite quickly.
2) Went for a walk with my neighbour. I had sort of noticed I was typing about him quite often in this thread but I am absolutely rubbish at guessing/knowing what other people are thinking and... erm... er...
3) Went swimming with my brother in the afternoon (with sons). I had got some new nose clips for them and they had picked up a mask at a car boot so it was all good fun.
4) Stopped off at mum and dad's after swimming (my brother still lives there as he's years younger than I am) and mum and dad were chatty and gave me some green beans. Brother and sons ran about outside for ages then I took them for a walk to where we often find slow worms and we found 2 AND a grass snake!
5) All sat in my bed together (me and sons) and watched 101 Dalmatians on iplayer.
That's about it!0 -
Hey, hey everybody!
Just nipping in to record my 5 for today. It is waaaay past my bedtime and I have a sh!tty day scheduled for tomorrow so need my sleep.
1) Hardly anyone was in the office today... loverly!
2) NSD
3) Little wander into town with a colleague... I haven't walked with this one before and was chuffed when she asked if she could walk with me. She is an absolute doll!
4) Lovely stew to come home to in the SC... though it's official... I have no room left in my freezer for anything else! I even had to eat the last of the B&J ice cream to fit it in... oh what a chore!
5) More knitting... finished off another square.
6) Enjoyed NCIS this evening... Sorry SavingforOz... I'm a ninja! You won't see me before I steal Gibbs away!
Night night night
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
1. NSD.
2. 2 Items sold on ebay:)
3. Bedroom looking a lot less cluttered
4. No bills today
5. Relaxing eveningSlimming World: 1stone 11lbs lost in 11 weeks0 -
Arrived home yesterday after a great holiday with the DGC, but today I'm paying for it in more ways than one. The car was stuttering this morning so I limped into the garage where a diagnostic test shows it needs approx £250 of work. Collected the dog who is of nervous disposition at the best of times, the change of home and diet has caused a gastric problem and without going into detail I thank goodness for constant hot water and Stardrops. It puts paid to my trip to see friends in Yorkshire next week but it can only get better. I hope..
I'll catch up with everyone but for now my 5 -
1. My own bed (which is really worth all 5)
2. the car didn't break down until after the holiday
3. Postie brought me lots of gifts while I was away, my bright purple bag for life, some expresso coffee, a hair dye, a mascara, trial size body lotion and a tee shirt which is tiny so will give it to one of the DGC
4. My car insurance co phoned to offer me home start for £10 to cover the rest of the insurance year. Since there are still 9 months to go I accepted, after the experience this morning I daren't turn any insurance down!
5. Got all the holiday laundry washed then dried outside in a good breeze
Night night sleep well

My five are
1. DS2 complimenting me on the chicken pie I made - virtually same as usual but with more veg in it!
2, Picked more blackberries and found and picked plums.
3. Stewed the rhubarb and froze.
4. DS1 found some work for a builder for a couple of days.
5. Sunny afternoon and washing dried.0 -
Welcome home Sparrer!
Frith - Noticed, but didn't like to say.......;)
5 for Yesterday
1. Cleaned more cupboards in the kitchen. (Will find some displacement activity to avoid the BIG cupboard a bit longer!).
2. Made chicken and chorizo casserole in the sc which went down well with everyone except DS2. (Also managed to use some of the sauce to make pasta at lunchtime and the leftovers will make soup for my lunch today!).
3. Trip to town with DS2 in the afternoon. He had a cool haircut at posh barbers and I had complimentary cup of coffee. Walked round Sea Life Centre as it's free with our Merlin cards. Happy boy.
4. Walked the dog in the park with DH and DS2 riding his bike. Dog and boy disappointed when we headed home.
5. Lit a fire in the firebasket and it actually worked! Too cloudy to see any meteorites, but v pleasant watching the flames. (Need to test the fireplace in the livingroom to see if we can use it this winter.)
Have a nice day folks. HE x0 -
Evening all.
Let's see if I can find some pleasures:
1) NSD.
2) Picked three more tomatoes when I got home - they're ripening really quickly now.
3) I've got two HG French beans to go with my dinner.(Mixed with peas from the freezer, as two beans won't get me far!)
4) Jacket tato for dinner tonight - I might be naughty and drown it in melted butter.
5) Day off tomorrow, so I get a bit of a lie-in. (The day off itself won't be particularly pleasant, though - we've got to tell my grandmother she has to go into a home, and I know she's going to be heartbroken.)
Sorry, that's not a very cheerful end to my post. So... erm...
6) The sun's just come out, and it's been raining all day - that's got to be good for the plants.
Have a pleasant evening, everyone.Back after a very long break!0
