Mine for today:
1) excercising for an hour and a half between the Wii Fit and the new Active Workouts
2) cuddles from dd
3) staying at home today as it's raining, instead of sloshing around the Balloon Fiesta, hopefully the weather will have cleared up by tomorrow. We've been very lucky over the past two days
4) visiting the local library, dp picked up 'The Italian Diet' by Gino D'a Campo, website here you can search by ingredients and the courgette recipes look lush
5) catching up with the ironing, vacuuming, washing up etc. etc. etc."We have to be kind because everyone is fighting a great, great battle" - Sir Richard Attenborough
"There is a special place in hell for women who don't help other women" - Madeleine Albright0 -
Thanks Girlysquare,I've just had a look at 'The Italian Diet'.As I have a very sweet tooth,I went straight to desserts, and have copied down the Lemon and Honey Rice Pudding.
It sounds like heaven in a dish....:T
Edited to add an apology!Rushed off the above, sounds like all I'm interested in are recipes.....Sorry!0 -

Not a bad little dayHousehold: Laura + William-cat
Not Buying It in 20150 -
1. using up stuff from the freezer
2. going to tescos and sticking to my list buying ingredients to make meals instead of convenience meals
3. staying at home watching a bit of tv and watching the kids play lego
4. enjoying soup and ham sarnies for lunch
5. apart from tescos, staying out of the shops and not spending any money on anything else:)November NSD's - 70 -
Hello everyone.
marmite - that chutney recipe sounds lovely. I'll pass it on to my dad, who's the chutney maker in my family, so I might well have a jar come Christmas.
Broomstick - I wish my council would start a kitchen waste collection. I had a compost bin at my last flat but I've got nowhere to put one now, and always feel guilty about throwing veg peelings etc in the bin.
KarleyMarie - thanks for your post - it's good to know you're still around.
My pleasures for today:
1) A very long lie-in this morning. I just couldn't wake up!
2) NSD.
3) I made my first ever batch of jam. :j It tastes pretty good, too - not too sweet, which is just how I like it.
4) Made a banana and carrot cake, too, using a recipe off the forum. I don't know what I did wrong, but it's come out with all the light fluffiness of a brick.I'm hoping that serving it warm with ice cream or custard might salvage it!
5) Started the process of moving my mobile to a new network. It will save me about £10 a month, and (if all goes according to plan) I'll get £90 cashback too. :money:
Have a lovely evening, everyone.Back after a very long break!0 -
Mine are:-
1. Had a bit of a lie in this morning.:o
2. A bowl of hot syrup porridge and a mug of tea, for breakfast in bed.:j
3. Made a lamb mince and aubergine curry for supper tomorrow. Curry always tastes better if it stands for a day.:D
4. Knitting some more of the pale purple beanie hat for my grand daughter, for the winter chill.:T
5. Watching one of my favourites on telly...Midsummer Murders.
Have a good weekend!:beer:Felines are my favourite

Evening all,
I have a headacheBut I have take some drugs so hopefully they will kick in soon. I don't get headaches often so it's a right irritation when I do.
1) Finished another square... my blanket is coming along slowly.
2) I went charity shop shopping today and picked up some new wool for the blanket. I now have 2 greeny and 1 black ball of wool. I also picked up a pale blue and a white ball to make a baby blanket for someone... don't know who yet but it is only a matter of time before someone else announces they are pregnant!
3) Picked up some fabric to start my quilt... no idea what I am doing but I have to hearn somehow!
4) Got a message on facebook from a really sexy guy I met in Paris. He lives in California and has asked me to do a vice over for a short film he is doing!!! I am sure nothing will come of it but it's excitng anyway.
5) I fixed my oven!! I am so chuffed with myself as I tought I would have to buy a whole new oven. So instead of £300 for a new oven I have only spent £40 and have the satisfaction of fixing it myself.
Anyway - I am going back to watching NCIS and hoping my headache disappears soon.
Night night
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
Evening all
1. Finished knitting a lovely thick winter sock (yay)
2. Can smell bread baking in the breadmaker mmmmmm
3. Another courgette ready to be picked!
4. Pumpkin plants have grown bigger than I could ever have imagined, got back from a weeks holiday to discover three plants now occupying the entire vegetable patch. Bit of a shock! Closer inspection has revealed many flowers and a few golf ball sized bulges which I hope will turn into pumpkins! Fingers crossed
5. Bought a gorgeous new dress from ebay for less than £5
Hope everyone's having a lovely OS weekend0 -
1 attacked 20 year old dualit toaster with stainless steel cleaner and yay, it came up shiny! so have decided it's worth shelling out £20 on 2 new elements and getting it to work again
2 made my kids come out for a walk, took stuff to the tip on the way and bought a dumped bike for £10 - a bargain and will suit my younger as he has grown out of his
3 made yummy fish pie from £2 pack of frozen fish, fed 4 generously, used home grown parsley to disguise pollocky flavour!
4 sent DH out shopping and seem to have convinced him to buy only what's on the list (more or less ;-))
5 started keeping grocery receipts in one place so I know what we're actually spending - shocked myself at the end of July and am trying to do better in August. It also means I can work out how much a meal cost so I know if what we're eating is cheap or expensive - how odd I only guessed at it before!
Night all0
