Oooh, fabulous thread!
Mine for today....
1. A lovely walk with the dog this morning, throwing a tennis ball again and again and again and.....
2. Meeting an old friend for lunch and eating some of her delicious home made soup.
3. Above-mentioned friend harvesting some carrots and courgettes from her vege plot and giving them to me
4. Sitting with youngest son on my lap while he told me about his afternoon building a ship out of lego
5. Having the time this evening to sit in the garden and read another chapter of my book.
I feel very blessed.0 -
parsonwife8 - that pigeon can obviously read too - it says welcome on the mat and they said yes, don't mind if I do. :rotfl:
1. Eating pistachio nuts. yum.
2. The anti sales person dog we own. He barks away behind a locked door when someone knocks at the front door and you can see in their faces, you know what I'll go now. :rotfl:
3. Talking to a friend at work, all supportive stuff.
4. Reaching my latest declutter goal of get rid of 100 things in 10 days.
5. Knowing I'm a bit skint but also knowing there is food in the freezer.
:ADeclutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

Here's mine
(awesome pigeon pic!)
1. Meeting up with someone I used to chat to on the morning bus and having a good catch up.
2. Using up toiletries has meant I've found a vial of perfume I'd forgot I'd had. It's beautiful and I might get a full size (on my Christmas list)
3. Being remembered by the chap on the buffet trolley on the train.
4. Getting into a book again! It seems ages since I got into one, but am currently loving "Memoirs of a Geisha".
5. I bought some new scaffoldingtoday and M&S was about the same price as New Look so got the M&S stuff
Ah, I realised today why I'd been so grumpy lately. Over the hot weather and the course of about a month I've slowly been drinking more and more fizzy cola and coffee. My sleep is starting to be affected and I'm really not the person I was. Gained a bit of weight and generally feel blurgh. So now the circle starts again, tonight, with plenty of water and an early night. Just got to break the habit again! I'm spending more on pop than I should *sigh* Bear with me if I'm grumpy please.
Anyway, have a lovely evening all

1) Texts from DS. He has gone Youth Hostelling with some friends and I asked him to text me every day but never expected he would.
2) Quiche for tea. Had a huge battle with the gluten free pastry but it held together well in the end. Ate it with a green salad snipped from the lettuce explosion outside in our pots by the wall.
3) Had a hair conversation with a friend at work. I could not believe that her perfectly straightened red hair is in fact a mass of corkscrews if left alone. She showed me some pictures to prove it. Makes me feel a little better about mine going pouf at the slightest opportunity.
4) A long chat with the Third Musketeer. Fortunately, she made the call too. I think we were talking for about an hour.
5) The rhubarb outside the kitchen window is really taking off with all this rain.0 -
5 for today.
1) Helped at school all day. This is the last day ever I will help in class 2 with one of my sons in the class :-( Smaller son is in the class at the moment but he wouldn't know it was Tuesday, let alone the last Tuesday I will be there!
2) Helped move furniture after school. They had a massive central heating water leak in the snow and have been waiting this long for the carpets to be replaced. So I helped from 3-5 moving desks from one classroom to another. As a treat, we were all given a free tea of fish and chips!
3) Boys came back from their father's reasonably happy.
4) Watched Holby City.
5) Have helped bigger son with his Viking work. Everyone in his class has to do a little presentation about something historical. I think the ex-museum curator in me came to the fore! He will be taking tomorrow: a handmade bookmark for everyone in the class with their name on then their name in Viking runes. A Viking oatcake for each child (the house is still a bit smoky from all that frying!) He has written a few notes to read out and then..... he will be singing the following, complete with a sheep bone microphone.... he loves any sort of singing, acting or general larking about!

Not a brilliant day, had a brief phone call with DF but he was very vague, seemed to be a bit 'dopey'. I'm wondering if the new ward has changed his meds and if so why...will try to speak to them tomorrow
1. Saw the GP this morning, he has no worries about me going to India as long as I take lots of extras meds and anti-b's etc. So now I start saving with a vengeance
2. Postie brought me a free sample of soup which looks very tasty, will have it when the weather is a little cooler
3. Got the last two loose covers dried and ironed but it's just too hot to struggle with them tonight so I'll put them back on in the morning
4. Long chat with a friend, thank goodness for free phone calls
5. The new battery for the lappy arrived this morning, it's doing what it should but now the power socket has packed up again! I really need the lottery this week...;)
Night night, sweet dreams

Hi all
Quick in and out at the start of the day to share some of my blessings with you:
1- Yesterday my Italian friends made the best pasta I have ever eaten, made from scratch, a recipe I had never made, now I have learnt and I shall be making my own homemade pasta too!
2 - Lovely weather, still summery and glorious
3 - Decided to stay in work a bit longer because DH is going for a martial arts (Aikido) school for a week for his grading and a bit of extra money will pay for this (it is the minimum I can do for him since he has always been the main breadwinner and very kind and generous with everybody).
4 - Large batch of homemade baked beans cooling on the kitchen counter, ready for the freezer
5 - DD's BF loved the birthday present I got him for his 21st, a three-tier vintage cake holder. He is training as a patisserie chef and was delighted with it.
Have a good day everybody xxxFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Morning
Pleasures for yesterday:
1. Two lots of washing done and on the line before leavin for work
2. DD packing her own case, she will be at my parents for the whole of the summer holidays not sure if that is:eek: or:j at the moment. Probably a bit of both
3. Lovely Chicken and Chirizo pasta for dinner
4. OH picking me up from work so no need to get the bus or walk
5. DD enjoying her school trip to mercedes benz and she got to drive a car. This normally costs £40 for 1/2hr but yesterday it was a free school trip with lunch thrown in as she has improved so much in her work:j:j
Probably won't be posting until monday now as going to the North East for the weekend tomorrow. Having a night on the coast at Salburn (Victorian resort which I think is lovely) and then onto Darlington for parents suprise party:eek: for their golden wedding
Hugs to all who need them0 -
