Hi Ginger Snap! AF stands for Approved Foods an online company that sell off foods and other items like soaps, petfood etc. coming up to their best before dates, The 5lts of white vinegar were only 99p each!

Sparrer - what is clafouti? and who do you think is moving your stuff and whats the story round them (I am assuming paranormal  so feel free to correct me!!)0 -
Thanks everyone for your kind words about the furbabe... I will give him a fuss before I go to bed just now.Man plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0

Not a good day today. The ex's fraud case was supposed to be tomorrow and Thursday. I was pondering on the outcome (could mean prison) and the 3 victims (all local older people) were getting very nervous. Its been postponed due to his "ill health". He doesn't have any ill health. The 3 victims have seen him swaggering about the place as normal and saw him cutting his mother's lawn yesterday so they have all phoned to complain...
Also, he is going to court against me next week - he's not too ill to go there, apparently! Have had a raft of solicitor's letters where his sol has picked up on tiny technicalities and now I don't think my court case is going to be very straightforward. Also, I wanted him found guilty of fraud before we went!
Anyway, 5 for today.
1) Helped in school all day and got to take some little groups by myself. I had a bit of a job after lunch when they were supposed to be writing down plans for stories as I was told to take them outside to work. It was so breezy it kept blowing their work away (sometimes accidentally on purpose...) and I had to try and make them work in the playground but not play on any of the stuff!
2) Saw my old school friend again at school. She is doing quite a lot of supply work there so it was nice to talk to her at lunchtime. And I remembered to take a bowl of last night's tea to warm in the microwave in the staff room.
3) Had the rather annoying phone call and letters from my solicitor but it sounds like she is on the case. She is going to say he shouldn't be in court against me if he is too ill to be in court for fraud...
4) Phoned my mum and she and my brother are going to Wimbledon tomorrow so I will look out for them on the television.
5) Had a phone call from my ex mother-in-law's best friend about the lack of court for the ex and I thought it was really thoughtful of her to let me know.
6) Had a chat with a new friend I made at college and we are going out for a cup of tea next week.
7) Boys fit and well and we had a chicken korma for tea.
I don't know why my writing has suddenly gone so disjointed, there isn't any sort of chronological order to this at all! Am off now to go to bed and listen to I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue on iplayer.

1) I was given a pot of strawberries at work today by a colleague. She likes to see them grow but no-one in the family eats them.
2) Cup of tea with my old friend after work. We sat in the shade and admired her 'vegetable garden' - all in pots but they get a lot out of them.
3) Went down to the allotment and picked a punnet of strawberries, a lettuce and some tiny radishes.
4) Three loads of washing drying on the line.
5) DS's girlfriend has got a summer job at the local pizza delivery shop and they seem really nice. She came home with a pizza in a box and we all sat around the table and chatted as she, DD and DS ate it up.0 -
Morning all! Hope everyone is OK. I'm just popping in to say that this will be my last post for a while. It's only 3 months until I leave for my trip annd life is busy...so I won't have as much time to come on here from now on.
I'm sure it won't be the last you see of me and in the meantime I'm sending everyone cyberhugs ((()))Life is not a dress rehearsal.0 -
Morning
Ginger Snap - Re survey sites - I use several different ones as they tend to send you lots of surveys or none at all. My favourites are Royal mail survey site (you get free stamps every month and can earn extra vouchers every couple on months) and pinecone.
Ladyhawk - Hope the furbabe is OK and you get some good news
Pleasures for yesterday:
1. Rain in the morning so the air felt much fresher
2. Received another survey voucher for £10 in the post so added to the stash
3. Making DD a bargain packed lunch with some YS items so her lunch cost about 20p. She really enjoyed what she had as well.
4. Going to a meeting to help raise funds for the local guides and meeting some new people who all seem really nice
5. Getting a lift home from the meeting from someone who lives near to me so didn't have to walk
Hugs to all who need them0 -
savingforoz - I for one will miss your posts, take care, and keep us updated when you have a chance :hello:
sparrer - I was very interested to read of your 'visitor'. I have always had a fascination with all things supernatural, having grown up in a house with an extra resident(Although ours was not a nice one
)
My OS pleasures from yesterday:
- Getting all bedding washed and dried on the line.
- Getting stuck back into cooking proper meals again. I cooked spiced chicken and sauce with rice (this recipe if anyone wants to try it, it makes a good alternative to traditional sunday lunch too.)
- Giving DD her first piece of toast and she loved it. We are gradually introducing her normal foods rather than relying on purees and so far its going well.
- Giving the living room a quick swish round with a microfibre cloth, its amazing how little effort can make the house sparkle again.
- Feeling of clean sheets when getting into bed, bliss!Value of prizes 2010 - 2017: £8374 Wins 2022: Magic set

Evening, everyone. Here we are again at the sunny end of the day. Here's my pleasures for the day:
1. My cherry tomato plants seem a bit bigger than before!
2. A No Spend Day.
3. Getting home early. OK so I had a driving lesson and got home before the bus would have done, but I still got home earlier.
4. Having a bit of a practice at crocheting. I was trying to see if I could crochet a motorbike. Yep, that's a work in progress
5. Watching a programme about foraging with Ray Mears. I find that kind of thing fascinating.
Soup for tea, perhaps with a nice hot roll. Beyond that, there's nothing else planned for this evening. Hope everyone has a nice one!

Evening all.
After I posted yesterday I heard from my dad that my grandmother is seriously ill again and back in hospital. I mention this in case I go missing for a few days anytime soon, so you know where I've gone.**********************mollythewestie - thanks for the link to that chicken recipe. It looks scrummy and has gone into my file of 'must try that one day' recipes.
savingforoz - I'm very sorry to hear you'll be leaving us so soon - I'll miss your posts.Have lovely time on your trip, and please send us a postcard (metaphorically, obviously!).
Acey - hugs to you. I hope your solicitor manages to sort things out - she's right that your ex is either to ill to be in court or he isn't - he's obviously just messing around and I'm sure the relevant authorities will take note.**********************
My pleasures for today:
1) Another fine, sunny day.
2) The first flower on my day lily is out, as are the first couple of flowers on my bargain rose (which aren't scented like the label says they are, but are very pretty and still a bargain).
3) My parents dropped off my birthday present on their way up to visit my grandmother - it's a very pretty baby acer tree, which looks wonderful with my existing one and all the sweet williams. (I wish I knew how to transfer photos from my phone on to the forum, so I could show you what it looks like - trust me, it's gorgeous!)
4) Went out at lunchtime to buy some new sunglasses. I'd decided to buy myself a really good pair, no matter what the cost, so I was delighted to find a pair from the middle end of the brand scale reduced to £20 in a sale. :j (I don't usually do brands, but I've never yet found a cheap pair of sunglasses that I actually like.)
5) Cheese, tomato and salad cream roll for lunch. I haven't had that combination in ages and had forgotten how nice it tastes.
6) No studying tonight as I'm so far ahead, so I got the last of my summer bedding plants out in tubs and in the border. I would have liked to have watched the end of the Murray match but the BBC website was playing the Hairy Bikers instead - the only time you'll ever hear me complain that the HB are on!
Have a nice evening, all - long may the sunshine last!Back after a very long break!0 -
