Not much really to report...
1. Made stellar progress with my jigsaw yesterday
2. Put the new light fittings up - as they are chrome the budgie has taken up residence with her new friend.
3. Went to a garden centre yesterday looking for herbs and bought to smaller pots - they will grow
4. No real shopping done apart from bread and milk, don't need anything
5. Spent today doing a bit of work but mainly sorting out and chasing up for my tribute festival in July....The game's afoot....0 -
Rage - that's what this thread is about - appreciating 'the not much to report days'
Pleasures for yesterday
1. A walk by the sea
2. more yummy sourdough sandwiches - this time with cold roast beef and cheese and chutney
3. a long bath watching 'Hinterland'
4. watched the last 'Line of Duty' when we got in - before we saw any spoilers
5. a yummy bank holiday curry..
and today
actually today has been frustrating due to university library rules and it has put me in a bad mood  but here goes
1. woke at 5.45 but managed to get back to sleep for an hour
2. caught the slow train to london - finished a work task
3. the adoring gaze of a baby looking up at its dad
4. OH is cooking dinner
5. lovely peonies in full bloom on the walk to the station.
have a lovely evening allI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
1) A whole garden lined with Pauwlonia Trees (Foxglove Tree) in full and beautiful purple flower as we drove by on the bus, spectacular.
2) Putting up a flock of goldfinches from a lawn further down the road as we walked to the bus stop after lunch, bright little twitterers with red clown faces.
3) Have just been for a lovely long walk across and round the common with Maisie and her mum, full of birdsong and apple and hawthorn blossom and many other dogs to play with too.
4) Watching Maisie running with another long legged dog who could keep up with her, playing dog style but leaning on each other and pulling at ears etc as the ran, magic.
5) 'Sorting' all the kitchen cupboards this morning and having a re-arrange of some and discarding some equipment that has languished on top shelves for years. I now have organised cupboards and even a couple of empty ones.....BUT I shan't be able to find anything for weeks until I get used to the new layout. Swings and roundabouts eh?0 -
1 Its our 12th wedding anniversary, and it doesn’t feel like it. We have frugal but happy celebrations, watching an old movie snuggled up, planning not to move too much and will treat ourselves to ordering in tonight.:o
2 I re-stocked the bird feeders.
3 Hung out 2 loads of washing to dry.
4 Bills paid for the month, but a rather large gas and leccy bill has left us rather literally on thin air for the month, but that’s ok-ish. We can be even more frugal thanks to this site,:money: having to do some savvy looking into things as it’s also dh’s birthday next week and I want some little things to open.
5 Am&zon promptly re paying me after finding I had been sold to by a scammer, can’t fault their service.:T0 -
Give yourself a break, I know all the financial stuff is awful but somehow you need to take a breath. It must feel like an insult to get a derisory offer but for you its personal and raw and to them its another day in the office. Not to say they are heartless but they don't feel your pain and longing.
You are being so strong, but I hope sharing here allows you to vent and to feel supported, even if it is just virtually!0 -
Sorry to hear about your letters, MHags :-(
Ears/head still odd, OK if sitting upright and completely still. Nasty if lying down. Can do most things now, if I move slowly in a strange, gliding motion!
Pleasures for today:
1) Picked bigger son up from party at 9am. Seemed to have gone well. The police woke the birthday girl up at 3am by shining a torch through the window! She opened the door to them and they had been informed that "youths" were inside the house - they had been asleep since midnight! She pointed out the tent with her mum in it and the police drove off.
2) Took son home (inset day) then we fed the chickens and watched The Island on catch up.
3) Sainsburys for lunch then B and Q for plants and for bigger son to look at the tools.
4) Weeded and planted the little strip of garden at the front.
5) Went to have a cup of tea with my school friend.
6) Watched Holby sitting in bed.0 -
My pleasures for today.
1. Dh brought me a cup of coffee in bed before he left for work.
2. Sat reading in bed drinking coffee.
3. Bought some storage to try and sort my craft stuff out.
4. Day off work which was nice.
5. Lovely walk for an hour in sunshine with the woofers.
6. Sat watching first dates(like a bit of romance) & more crocheting of never ending blanket done for dgs2.0 -
1. Enjoyed my first coffee of the day.
2. Read my book on the bus to and from work. Had to stay late at work but was told I could get the time back! It rarely happens in practice for some.
3. DS2 cooked tea as I was really tired and needed to iron.
4. Found DH wallet. He was in a panic but I found it in the pocket of the coat he was wearing on Monday!! First place I looked but he had worried it was lost when he was at work all day.
5. Long chat with DS1 when he phoned. He had been away for a week and had a great time.0 -
granthank you for your kind words. I use this forum as a diary so add the not so good to the good. My future decisions as to where I live by end of this year depend on my financial situation. So I had mentally tallied what I may receive and this was just so disgusting an offer! Still not had a reply to my email...just an acknowledgment would be nice. I know there is no sense of urgency on their part and this particular company have been unprepared to send anything by email, whereas other companies have been happy to send and receive documents by email. Sigh...
Work was okay.
Blogged.
Blooming chilly! But bright , washing out for a wee while .
Was supposed to be meeting ex main colleague for lunch, invited her here instead of going out . Had a nice afternoon with her. I made little bruschetta with pate and melted cheeses, and ones with cheese and chopped spring onion. We had grapes and cheese and oatcakes and hummus and mandarins ( smelled like autumn when I peeled them).
I made both big and little caramel meringue cupcakes . We just had a little one with lunch. All very yummy and nice to catch up for a couple of hours . Most stuff I had already in so much cheaper than dining out.
Chat with my sister, my call yesterday was very rushed as she had an appoinment to go to.
Returned library book, never even read a word of it but due back today.
Had to buy milk.
Just had some crusty bread that I got slightly cheaper $2 instead of $3 as it was ' well done' ...was absolutely fine...with pate for my tea. DD2 is eating out in the City. Son had last nights tea for his late lunch then has late classes at uni and then DD1 is going to have platter of nibbly things for her tea.
Have a good day0 -
My pleasures for yesterday,
The cheery, smiley lady who served me at the garage, all genuine and clearly not just reciting the corporate line, lovely.
Planted up bronze fennel, pineapple sage and a pot of sweet little pinks.
Spoke to my friend and plans made to meet up tomorrow for lunch.
Chicken and apple bake for tea.
