Well that £4.30 has to work for itself y'know ......

    Today...
    1. OH put the new wall lights and ceiling light (bought whilst on reduction) up without being nagged to do so AND hovered up after himself!
    2. The robins brought their babies to see me when I was putting the food out for them before parking them in the hedge.
    3. A full night's sleep
    4. A goldfinch on the small apple tree next to the window watching me sew
    5. A slice of baked cheesecake (about to be scoffed)

    and that's it for today
    The game's afoot....

What a lovely day today. Hopefully weather will be the same for Bank holiday Monday.

    1. DS and DD played outside most of the day.

    2. Showed DD who is 5 some games I used to play as a little girl. Like skipping and 2 ball against the wall. I forgot how much I used to play these games.

    3. Lots of washing dried very quickly on the washing line. Beautiful, windy day.

    4. Did a hard work out but felt great afterwards.

    5. Took DH, DS and DD out for dinner. We do this once a month as a treat. I am so proud of them. They use their best manners and behave really well. They are 5 and 7. It really annoys me when I see families where parents give the kids i-pads and phones to use to entertain them at the table. One little girl who was no older than 4 broke down crying when her food came because she had to come off mummy's phone. Not all kids had devices but the ones that did just did not speak to each other. It is hard going out for dinner when kids are young but just take a book or pen and paper or speak to them. It is definitely is worth the pain because you will reap the rewards when they are a bit older and have the attention span and patience to sit and talk or enjoy the atmosphere.

    Enjoy your bank holiday

    Pleasures for today (Sunday).

    1) A bit of a lie in.

    2) Boiled egg and soldiers for breakfast.

    3) Slow cooked beef for lunch with corn on the cob and carrots.

    4) Bigger son went for a long bike ride and I picked him up.

    5) Sons went to role playing night with my brother and brother in law.

    6) I drove over the new bridge in the next village. It is very exciting at the moment because there are no sides on it (just scaffolding poles) so you can see right up the river.

    7) Spoke to my school friend.

    4. found some tins of paint to complete some painting jobs when I have a week off later this month

    1. Managing slightly better with pain. Found it helpful with my arm in a sling as I keep my shoulder still but still able to use my hand easily.

    2. Went to friends house Saturday evening. Really good time had by all. Lots of laughter, good food and wine. It had been a while since we've met up with them as a couple.

    3. Spent time in the greenhouse listening to the radio on Saturday afternoon. Potted up some seedlings - took it slowly and achieved more than I thought. Some seeds have started to grow which I didn't think would germinate.

    4. Finally got round to potting on a couple of plants in the bathroom. Hopefully they will start to look grow better and to look healthy!!

    5. Had long chat with my Mum on the phone.
  • Skint. Pilchards on toast. That is no way to start the day is it!
DD Panda. Black and White! Nearly a mariner!
Topsy. Proper breakfast, around here sauages are called snorkers!
RiE. No nagging gets things done.

5 Just had the sat fest early this week as it is bank hols. Full works. Snorker, best back, mushrooms, haricot beans in tom sauce. Star cut grilled toms, toast buttered and poached egg. Washed down with eau de faucet and concentrate of lemons. Tum rubbed.

4 BoPsie is currently residing in the shed. On her little book account she put money of spurs. It is bad enough having to sit next to one at work to find she hand gone behind my back. Good job I had done the roast of chicken and she had finished it before I found out! Ity is a bit damp this morning and Raffles has been fed. No more later!

3 The glossing went well in the bedroom, but not quite dry to put up the colours. More later.

2 Day BoP is lazing, but keeping the back door locked. See above!

    Situation vacant!

    Late to bed .

Had a good morning at work.
Paid :) but with vet bills & air fares eating it up before I even get it!
Painted dresser . May need a few coats.
DD1 started delivering leaflets a few weeks ago ( for a paltry pay) I folded them all into bundles. As I'm such a nice person.
Had leftover chicken pie for tea.
Nice chat with friend from home as she was off work.
Australian Masterchef returned ( hence later to bed than normal!)

Had a message from friend I had lunch with the other weekend ( of the dating horror stories) how was I doing? Then , did I fancy going to a dance at social club? politely declined. Not really my cup of tea at best of times and certainly not at the moment but nice she thought of me.

    Have a good day :)

    Pleasures for a BH weekend,

Boiled egg and marmite soldiers for Saturday breakfast.

One solitary bluebell has popped up under our apple tree.

We have residents in the nesting box, it faces the field so quietest part of the garden and close to the feeders, only glimpses caught out the corner of eye but definetly there, my money is on the Great Tits.

All seeds planted for continuous supply of salad all summer long, well that's the theory.

On Sunday afternoon my DB and SIL popped in for cup of tea and catch up, double choc cookies had been prepared and much enjoyed still warm from the oven.

After a couple of rubbish nights of sleep went right through to 8am.

Woke up to rain hitting window but quickly cleared up.

Decided to miss the crowds (and showers) at Reach fair and spend time in garden instead.

Dressed our well with May flowers, and libations of elderflower cordial offered to apple tree and my favourite Beech, Beltane celebrations :)
