    Evening all.

    My five for today:

    1) Lie in this morning.

    2) Stepping on the scales to find I've lost 4kg. :j

    3) Nice long walk in the sunshine
    4) Pub lunch, sitting outside in the garden (although I could have done without the plane tree next door - darn hayfever! smiley-sick010.gif)

    5) Saw the first swallow of summer (the first one I've seen, anyway).

Sorry that's a bit rushed - I'll catch up with everyone properly tomorrow. Jexy - hugs to you - hope things sort themselves out.
Back after a very long break!

    My 5 for today:

    1. Driving to Winsford to see Mum and Dad who were down at their static.

    2. Mum and Dad taking us all to Lady Heyes and buying us a lovely lunch.

    3. Having crumpets and home made jam for supper.

    4. Checking on my seedlings in the plastic growhouses and despite having forgotten to unzip them both this morning, everything seems to be doing superbly, though the cobnut squash is terribly slow to germinate.

    5. Purchasing a lovely large one piece rubberwood serving tray on offer in the antique/second hand barn at Lady Heyes, for only £5. Also dropped on a lovely little mini herb planter set for the kitchen window for £6. and also some lovely patchouli simmering granules for only £1.40. I'm thrilled with my bargains!

CCP - saw my first swallow at mum and dad's the other day. He is one on his own, chattering away on the telephone wires to himself!

    5 for today:

    1) Got a load of washing done and dried on the line.

    2) Went into town to get little son's Beavers sweatshirt.

    3) Stopped off at a playground so they could run around for an hour.

    4) Went swimming with my brother. (Well, they went, my ear is still rubbish so I sat on the side with Saturday's Guardian!)

    5) Had some nice trout for tea, just with mash and carrots while we watched Dr Who then bigger son and I made nettle soup! It's lovely, have put 4 servings in the freezer and have enough left for a meal tomorrow.

Evening all. My 5 for today:

    1. Being bought lunch by a friend in honour of my birthday, which is on Monday. We went to a Lebanese restaurant and had a mezze. The food was lovely, even if the portions were a little small.

    2. Being able to sit outside at the restaurant and enjoy the afternoon sun.

    3. Good gym session this morning. I struggle a bit with getting to the gym at weekends, so I am pleased with myself that I managed it.

    4. Doing some more clearing out in the house.

    5. Cuddles with foster cats.
Life is not a dress rehearsal.
  • Jexy my thoughts are with you

    my 5 for today

    1. Sun shine all day
    2. DD had a day out with friends rather than being stuck at home all day.
    3. DS not unhappy about waking up at normal human time for a weekend day (9.00am)
    4. Seed taters now planted in tater sack ( if it does not work this year we give up).
5.sweet pea seedlings now in planter with wigwam.

Hugs to all who need them

    Evening all :)

Kitti - thank you for your support, trust me, kicking the proverbial is last on my list, after many other unmentionables atm! I hope your journey was fun, sounds like a really fun trip :) let us know!
SavingforOZ, do i see teasing again on the story front! Give us a link!!!! I am glad you have new foster cats and they are lucky to have you :)
Girly, thank you too for your support, it means alot.
Winchelsea, again thank you :) and I am glad you have found extra support for your situation, sometimes just having someone who is going through the same thing (not that either of you would wish it, helps) The cake choice sounds yum, what did you plump for? :D Lucky you with a pear tree too, if you have spare this year, I can help you out :D
Adelight, so many HM pleasures and a bargain ebay boots to boot! great pleasures for sure.
Blimus I am so glad you took my post as it was intended, I was so worried that it sounded wrong, but I am a previous google victim too. Lets get some proper facts, then see what we are dealing with hun, you are not alone in your worry for your family. Thank you too for your support, it means alot. And OMG, you lost almost a stone!!! go you! Im at the stage of it being the thought that counts, and I think I would like to lose a couple of stone :D
Nutty thank you for your support to :) What great kids to tidy up after themselves, and great news that OH has the skills to do your brakes as well, double bonus for you :)
CCP thank you for the hugs but look at you 4 KGS!!!!!! tell your secret! sell your secret!
Kath you have every right to be thrilled at all those bargains, but forgive my ignorance, whats a cob squash thingy? I am new to all this growing your own lark, which clearly shows in what is actually growing for me!
Acey, sorry your ear is still playing up, but hope that the peace with the guardian went some way to making up for it :)
Woggle, again thank you for the support :) I am interested in your tater sacks as we have seen them, and I wanted some, but it sounds like you havent had a great time with them, let us know.

    Ok concerted effort for 5!
    1) got a pm from a nice MSE person referring me to a solicitor specialised in our situ, its lovely peopel that you dont know in real life take the time, but then I learned that on this thread, you dont need to know people in real life, to care about what happens to them.

    2) Went out to feed the girls at lunchtime and one was mysteriously the wrong side of the fence... we have no idea how, and Im not sure she did either! But spent half an hour letting them scrat around, for their benefit you understand, not that I love watching their antics! We also got 7.5 eggs today, I say the point 5 because one was SO tiny! I mean literally (..........) this big! I jest you not!

    3) had a parcel today from the mum of my polish waitress Gosia. Her mum sends her the most beautiful "care packages" full of sweeties and goodies, and she decided to send us one, as we were having a rough time, and she wanted to say she cared, how lovely was that. I am already planning what I will send back, brought a tear I can tell you :)

    4) We had a busy night, and everyone knows Im not at my best right now, bloomin back playing up (years of nursing abuse!), stress and periodicals as gosia calls it, all at once, but they all were amazing, I am so lucky. Its hard not to let things get too much, and they just let me be me, love them all. We had a great service, and it wasnt down to me (it never is, its everyone playing their part, and tonight I so wasnt playing, not through lack of trying, but does anyone else become incoherent, unable to say words, drops everything at "that time?" or is it just me! ) My herbal "be nice to people stuff" is working for mood swings, but I still cant talk, stop dropping things, and retain info at certain times of the month!
    5) Pickled onion monster munch grab bags 2 for £1! Has anyone noticed how small they got????

Huggles to all and genuine thank you for all your support.

So sorry to hear about the pub Jex, and hoping everything will resolve itself in your favour Inshallah
Lol at the pea story Emm, it happens to all of us at one time or another. I hang my large sack of dog food on the hook by the handle and have left the store with it still there. Luckily I've realised when I unloaded the trolley but I can see how your confusion happened. Hope little ones hand is better
Hope you're having a good weekend away Kittikins, what excitement going on trains :D
Pleased you've got your writing hat on again savingforoz, whatever it is you're bound to get good reviews judging by past stories. Yummy Lebanese meal, but I know what you mean about mezze, there's never enough on the plate for me :o
Winchelsea what good news about someone being able to put you in touch with more resources. I hope they turn out to be useful to you, I understand how difficult your job is and admire you so much for being able to come and share the good and the bad. The moral support you'll get here is amazing, I can vouch for that first hand :)
Well done on the boots adelight, lucky you to be able to buy footwear without trying them on :)
Congrats on ebay keeping the wolf from the door Blimus, hope it keeps up a bit longer yet
Lol at the onion chutney smell nuttybabe, I'm sure it tasted delish ;)
Great news re the weight loss CCP, I know how hard it can be so congrats on a great effort :T
Well done on your bargains katholicos, sounds like a really successful shopping trip. It's difficult for me to get out of those places though, there's always another good find in the next shop :D
Poor you ACEY :(, I do hope your ear gets better soon now. I'm sure your lovely trout eased the pain a little though ;)
Hope the taters grow for you wogglemaker, nothing like digging your own and being able to eat them within an hour or so. They always taste much sweeter too

    My 5
1.Washing on the line by 8am, dry by 11
2.Postie brought a sample of shower gel, ideal holiday size
    3. One of the brooms I planted last week has already got flower buds on

    Morning everyone,

    So my 5 for yesterday...

    1) Welshcakes for brekkie (samples from one of my potential suppliers)

    2) went to the salon to get my roots done... and they had a 20% of special

    3) Counted out the money in Eamon the morgage pig to pay into my account - it turned out to be a healthy £43 which was saved over 3 months... every little helps!

    4) Dinner with some of the ex-jiu jitsu girls. They've all had babies so they conversation was quite child focussed but bearable

    5) Putting dates in the diary for us all to go back to jitsu training... yay! I do miss it and it will be so good to be back on the mat again.

    Enjoy your Sunday!

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

5 Friday night is fakeout night. Pizza and chips (as usual) and a film :p

    Love the term fakeout night!

Thanks Shadowsfall about my pleasure of a roof over my head. I rented for years and so can easily take for granted that I have a roof and it's mine.:D

Hugs to jexygirl with your troubles and everyone else who needs them. I find assembling the facts in black & white helps. Really hard to take the emotional out of this. Also nurture the belief that you will succeed :A

    1. Did a full shop yesterday, due to circumstances not done a "proper" food shop for ages. Found it hard (back problems) but also mmm, not seen that before. Like a French brioche thing from Asda, will report back if yum.
    2. Freshly cut grass.
    3. Seeing that a beautiful bush of my neighbour's has made its way to our side of the fence too!
    4. Home made cake at a fete yesterday.
    5. A hot toddy of lemon, honey, ginger from my loved one.

    :A
:) Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

Less things. Less stuff. More life.

Ok mine today are going to sound a bit soft but very true :)

My pleasures today are things that I am truly grateful for :)

    1) I have a roof over my head
    2) I have 2 gorgeous, fab, healthy boys :)
    3) I have a husband to be who truly loves me and oh boy do I love him too :D
    4) Although financially life is a struggle I am lucky enough to have food in my cupboard and heating in my house :)
    5) I have a washing machine that works! (This may sound a bit wishy-washy, excuse the pun, lol, but a couple of weeks ago I didn't and blinkin eck it was hard)!

So they are my pleasures for today and now I must go to cook and clean :)

    Brightest blessings everyone :)
