Pleasures for today (Monday)
1) A lie in.
2) Fed the hens.
3) Booked and paid for the zipwire tickets so sons can zoom over the Eden Project.
4) Got the train tickets for Edinburgh printed out at the station.
5) Went into town and paid to get the car cleaned and cleaned out. What a difference! Got some new trainers (side fell out of the old ones), spent a Christmas voucher in TKMaxx so have a new duvet cover on tonight.
6) Met my friend in Caf! Nero and was there 3 hours.
7) Went to dad's for tea (mum away at WI college) and brother had cooked pigeon pie and parsnips.
8) Lots of messages from smaller son.
9) In bed and will listen to the radio in a bit. JAM tonight (sorry, Ampersand), preferable to the very dull Museum of Curiosity.
Have set the alarm tomorrow - last day without sons until Easter. I'm off quite a distance in the morning to see 1 friend, stopping at potential new job site on the way back then seeing usual school friend in the evening. :-)
ETA - text message from smaller son re: football boots "right I found an amazing pair I know they are a bit expensive but they would be worn with great care and respect and they are amazing love you you're the best" :-D0 -
Evening all
VfM thanks for enquiring about Jenny and BoP thanks for explaining. I'd only been wondering for about four years!
Gentle hugs to the frail (including nearests and dearests) and extra ones for clan Mhags.
Five recent pleasures:
1. University Challenge this evening was a good one right to the last.
2. Got round to chasing all the late payers for this terms fees - job well overdue.
3. Received another £5 voucher from Royal Mail surveys - very useful these, they pay for all toiletries.
4. Cut my hair and it doesn't look too lopsided.
5. The silliest posts on #JeSuisIKEA had me laughing out loud.
Sweet dreams

* The perfect granddaughter. She is smart and pretty and sweet and fun.
* Family discount for making a will and setting up a trust for our Aspergers son. It's such a relief to be dong this and to get a big discount!!
* Cabinets are here and will be going up this next week. They are beautiful.
* Great cheap haircuts for OH and myself.
* Walking through a beautiful exciting art exhibit at the Albuquerque Spanish Heritage Museum with my youngest son. Chai tea, after the museum, on a chilly afternoon.
* Great food cooked by eldest daughter. Such a good cook!Overprepare, then go with the flow.

Wide awake at an unearthly hour, partly cos I've come down with tonsillitis and partly cos son isn't back from going to see football in Newcastle. They got the coach there but he is driving back from where the coach drops them....

Off back Up Nurff on train, hopefully not via Warster! More later!0 -
1. Good day at work everything seemed to go ok and a rep gave out free pens- I'm sure that very soon we will have to supply our own pens at work.
2. Drive not too bad and didn't have to wait for the minibus either at the start or end of the day.
3. Jacket potatoes for tea so easy and tasty.
4. Long chat with DS1 on the phone. He wanted a receipt of DH to help him get some money back- the wonders of modern technology meant it was what apped to him.
5. DH finally managing to convince the people concerned that a hospital type bed is needed for his mum regardless of what she says. It needs to be easy for the carers to get her in and out of and able to be lowered so she doesn't have far to fall.0 -
mhaster - devoutly hoping this is miles away from you.
Huge hugs to you both, to your offspring, your hound & your clan!0 -
Frith such a sweet text, made me smile
Some pleasures for yesterday,
After a grey start it turned sunny so could ditch the winter coat, scarf and gloves!
Trip into BuryStEd, used a voucher to stock up on undies and had a mooch round, had my skin checked and lovely lady recommended new foundation, not very OS but pleasure in not looking so grey and tired.
My decluttering continues so another bag for the CS.
There are green shoots on the climber next to the shed, was worried it hadn't survived the winter.
Pesto salmon and cauli rice for tea, back to low-carbing.0 -
1) A walk to the shopping centre and back to return a library book this morning, nice along the track and not raining.
2) Maisie dog day 2 and she's settled and happy and relaxed, big progress from the scared pup who came to visit before Christmas.
3) Sue and Charlie back and walked with them after lunch, Maisie and Charlie very tolerant of each other despite not having met before and Maisie even put her nose on Sues hand several times, what an improvement on a dog you couldn't touch and who wouldn't go near a stranger.
4) He Who Knows improved to the point of being able to walk to the shop for his paper and some milk this morning.
5)Found some cheese scones in W8rose at 140 calories each which we enjoyed with a salad filling and a cuppa soup for lunch, really nice and not too naughty.
adding in no 6) as have just walked Maisie round the block and found a Mimosa Tree in full bloom at the top of the road, wonderful sight and wonderful perfume from the flowers too! amazing in the UK in February!0 -
Today's pleasures
1. A day off!
2. Happy couple of hours in the kitchen transformed ropey veg into many meals now frozen.
3. Cuppa and box set of undercover boss. Love it when these ceos get to see exactly how things run.
4. Nice clean fishy tank esp as said fishy put up a hell of a fight to stay in, meaning I had to clean around it!
5. The promise of a bubbly bath and a relaxing night.
Thanks for all your pleasures.
As always my thoughts are with you mhags and family xxxSIMPLY BE-££577.11:eek:
