Sorry to hear about your MIL Mhags.

    1. Met a friend for coffee and had a good catch up.

    2. Had to work Friday but it was an ok day and the money will go into my retirement pot. The amount is slowly increasing.

    3. Stayed bit longer at work as colleague came in with new baby. Cuddles by everyone but he didn't wake up!

    4. DS2 not injured. He phoned me about the time he finished playing rugby. My first thought was he was phoning from A and E. Thankfully he was ok as on the train with DH on our way to London.

    5. In London we went for a meal and then went to see The Book of Mormon. I really enjoyed it and we have been wanting to go for a long time and it was DH Christmas present.

  • OK Here goes :heartpuls to down under.

5 Pink Tutu on again outside and inn. Just keeping the six pack inn trim. Shaved, properly and splashed with the ship version. No sores!

4 Shopped. Now as we had out of date butter inn fridge, I had to purchase an apple. Yes it is Apple Crumble with raspberries day. Served with the usual instant lumpy custard. You know who wears the apron!

3 Now why has sage and onion suffering now changed its name to stuffing for chicken. More bull. Avoid. Will be served with proper chicken. You know what is coming this week! Chicken curries all round.

2 Was discredited in paper again. Has gone in as BoPsie. I ask you!

    PM2DD. Keep eating the cheese!

    You're looking for the cut!

All strength, love & courage mhags.
Love how the garden seems to 'get it' too.
  • * broken tooth from fall pulled and now no more pain! It hurt like the dickens!

    * facial bruising almost cleared up and I'm not so scary to look at. That's a pleasure for everyone.

    * concussion is not so intense. The trip to the paint store yesterday showed me it's still there but better.

    * cabinets ordered

    * paint picked out. So many shades of my colors. I bought quarts to test it out on the walls.

    * shelves built in closet.

Crazy week with our new president! No one is sure what to think. Teresa May was a bright spot.
Overprepare, then go with the flow.

  • ouch Mila ... your fall sounds very painful glad you are on the mend !

    Sunday pleasures

    1. sunny morning
    2. bacon & cheese wrap for breakfast
    3. managed a walk before the heavy rain began

    4. fajitas for tea - chicken, peppers sweetcorn & usually courgettes but can't seem to get courgettes at the moment so I bought a marrow last week in morries instead - taste very similar once middle scooped out and chopped up.

    5. final Christmas detritus cleared from living room... made myself throw out an empty biscuit tin - some of the tins are so nice its a shame to throw them out but I have other nice tins already and really can't keep any more !!

    6. Its pouring with rain outside and blowing a gale. DS has gone to do his volunteer night shift and I am glad I don't have to go out in this weather. Forecast says it will be gone by morning when I go to work at 6am. Its still very mild though here in the south and my heating is off

Mila - it is such a relief when the face clears up but concussion can be a right bear. Take it careful & have a lovely time picking out test paint patches!
(Currently wearing a Harry Potter-esque (healing) zig zag gash above one eyebrow myself, after a 6' fall onto flags that was absolutely avoidable (the embarrassment!) so I absolutely get the relief when you can go out in public again - thankfully my work colleagues & scouts were of the blink shrug & carry on school so I've not missed much. Had a lovely course in proper facial care by text from old pal!)

Awh, thank you all kindly for your kindness. I think we mourned the loss of the woman she was a few years ago as dementia took its nasty toll on her. It's such a horrid, insidious disease, that my SILs had the most to deal with ( as we were out here dealing with our own stuff! ) ...how she hung on all blooming week I will never know but obviously made of sterner stuff! We won't be able to come back to her funeral as OH is too unwell to travel that distance.

I'm now on Monday morning and fully intend to get such a wriggle on today. Have spent a very lethargic , un motivated weekend, which isn't really like me. Today is to be very hot (38o) but there's a coolness to the air outside at the moment, have just been out with dog and it feels fresh. So I've opened a few windows to let some overnight heat out and some fresh air in before sun is up properly.

Took DD2 to work yesterday, she had a phone call, could she start an hour earlier, of course ! Mummmmmmm ! I was in a very grumpy , over heated mood at this point. Anyway, dropped her off, popped in to old work , said hello ( I'd parked right outside to drop her off) came home with 3 muffins.
Car had a run and then was topped up with petrol.

My grump then continued as I came home and. OH told me he had agreed on Wednesday morning to catch up with people who we don't really feel the love for ( they are very kind hearted but we find them very hard work, a tiny bit annoying ( she says yes at the end of every sentence I say) and if we didn't see them on Wednesday it would be no loss.) they keep pushing for a time to visit ( they live 2 hours away) and last time they came they stayed for 4 hours and OH was just exhausted in bed for 2 full days afterwards.

So I was annoyed that he'd booked that in...we have a very full on day at hospital for most of Tuesday. We've to see many specialists , which as well as traipsing around hospital from side to side, floor to floor, will also involve a lot of talking and listening. So he will be exhausted from that. Then his boss messaged, could they come on Wednesday ( him and wife who are our Sydney friends) ...so no they couldn't as you will be exhausted from hospital and please message D & K and tell them no....don't think that was done so that will be left up to me! So boss is now coming Thursday!
I appreciate people want to see us/ him but please.......!

Apparently this is a common problem and people will put notices on their doors and gates and offer a short visiting time. Unfortunately our people are travelling a distance to come and see us. And whilst it is nice to see people it just exhausts him.

Kayak has been sold, trailer sold and picked up yesterday afternoon, kayaky bits all sold . This is operation "clear the bloody garage out before you go....do not leave me with this stuff! "

Bedding washed and back on the bed still warm from the sun. I pulled my bed out ....which I don't think it was too long ago since I last did....aaaargh! Dust bunnies galore! All hoovered! Done in preparation of maybe getting hospital bed soon....it has now been 'mentioned' .

Made a nice steak pie ( RTC meat ) with roast potatoes and peas!

Fun and chit chat around our bed with OH, DD1 and DS and a dog underneath the bed. DD2 was zonked. Then they were all chased away as it was past my bedtime!

So there were pleasures to found in amongst the grumps and the overheating. We told some funny gran stories. School fees were paid, all up front so a teeny tiny 5% discount taken off and it's her last year so I don't need to fork out fees ever again! However, every single cent has been worth saving up for / doing without as its such a fabulous school. I would have loved to have gone there!

Right, need to move it, move it! Sun is up so need to close those windows before the heat starts to build up and comes in. Need to try and call SIL and see if she is home. She has spent all week at hospital which is other side of country to her.

    Have a good one :)
