Oh yes Mhags the muttered I'm sorry and then you end up saying it's ok, bizarre.
Believe the Cletus is particularly popular at the moment due to success of Peaky Blinders Frith
Some pleasures for yesterday,
A cold, bright sunny day, lovely but my windows need cleaning!
We enjoyed the sunshine whilst driving around completing necessary tasks, more ticks off the list.
Capt S treated us to lunch out at one of my favourite food pubs (D+D in Linton &) we sat by the fire, lovely.
An unexpected present when we returned from evening dog walk, a pink flowering rosemary in remembrance of DM, heart lifting and thoughtful.
Late supper of cheese and Pinot noir.0 -
Last night in Tassie...past my bedtime. Just off phone to kids catching up with them & how their day has been.
We've had another nice day.
Drove up to Mount Nelson ! Which has the most stunning views over the different peninsulas and islands. I had a scone ( which I thought was suitably Scottish for Burns day.) OH had bread & butter pudding with caramelised banana still in its peel. With dates and a nice vanilla ice cream. Sat at a window seat and just admired the view.
Then we drove to Kingston and then Blackman Bay beaches. Sigh.
Very lovely.
Then home for a snoozette for OH.
Walked down into city and round harbour and had some dinner overlooking the sea. A HUGE cruise ship was docked.
Then a hike back uphill and back here.
Keeping in constant touch with SIL...my very tenacious MIL is still hanging on!
Have a lovely day0 -
1. I didn't sleep well last night and didn't want to get up at 5.30am this morning but crumpets with butter were yummy for breakfast
2. sat and watched the mist rolling in from the sea last night but thankfully it wasn't much this morning when I drove into work and no ice
3. sunny afternoon by the time I left work
4. drove to town and managed to find a free parking space.
I walked into the town centre and it was quite pleasant in the sun but when I'd finished it was bitterly cold on the way back to the car

1) The hot water bottle I snuggled up to for most of the afternoon, it was so cold and then.....it wasn't!
2) Feeling slightly less congested with my cold than I was yesterday but now feel as if I had been put through a mangle.
3) Just made a frittata for tea, not what I'd intended but it's used up all the odds from the fridge so todays supper will be tomorrows now.
4) We had some sunshine this afternoon, just for an hour or so and even if I didn't go out in it because it was too cold seeing it made me feel better.
5) He Who Knows went to B&Q as it's 10% off for pensioners who have the diamond card and got planking to line the paths in the polytunnel. We'll use stones from the garden beds to put down on the paths between the planks to hold them in place which will save us lots of trips to the recycling centre.0 -

2) OK day at work.
3) Game of cards at lunchtime.
4) Garage fixed the heat shield back on to my car securely and freed a sticking caliper - for free!!! By chance, I did go to school with 2 of the 3 mechanics.
5) Took bigger son to a very chatty barbers who blended his baldy side bits in to the rest of his hair. Almost unnoticeable now.
6) J Oliver's veg chilli from the freezer for tea.
7) In bed and about to watch Holby.0 -
Waves from Melbourne!
Happy Australia Day! ( our first as Australians)
Bit of beach .
Bit of hanging around airport. Hobart is the nicest airport I've been in.
( we shall pass on the horrid ,very bumpy , very blowy take off and land. Very queasy. Glad when it was all over.)
Chatty taxi driver. It was cheaper to take uber/ taxi than park.
My dog welcome. Apparently he mooches around when we are not here and was very happy to see us, as we were to see him. Gave son a tickle under his hairy chin so he didn't feel left out.
Made corned beef hash and beans for tea and made cupcakes with little ickle lamingtons on top. What a faff but it's Australia Day
Nice to catch up with kids . Think DD1 may need a medical appointment ASAP as flare up of what she needed emergency surgery on last year. Hoping to get through tonight as not at emergency stage yet...sigh!
Have a good day and I'm glad the hair drama has been sorted frith!0 -
