Some pleasures for yesterday,
Scrambled egg and pancetta on toast for breakfast.
Went to see La La Land, enjoyable film and we shared jelly babies.
Long chat on the phone with old friend.
Still burning festive candles.
Yellow freesias in favourite vase on the hearth.
And for today,
Getting to the top of the stairs and seeing my two beautiful dogs waiting for me to come down.
Found my darling parents love letters to each other, precious indeed.
Chicken and oat soup for lunch.
Long hot soak in the bath to warm up after such a cold day.
Quick tea of pizza, coleslaw and rocket.0 -
Pleasures for today
1. really good sleep. DS left at 9pm for night shift last night and I went to sleep and didn't wake until my alarm went off at 5.20am
2. no frost or fog this morning
3. picked up shopping on way home from aldi and had a yummy peach yoghurt (and some naughty yummy chocolate brownies) with a cuppa tea
4. clicked online for the bank to ring me back - so no need to wait in a phone queue. Switched my account to a reward account 3% on household bills paid by direct debit minus £3 a month fee gives me just over £50 a year for doing nothing - so a no-brainer for me. Will go towards Christmas presents. Also switched my monthly savings to a higher interest savings account rather than my paltry ISA. Am feeling a little more in control of my finances now
5. Its Friday no more work till Monday :j0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗
House sale OCT 2022 = NOW MORTGAGE FREE 🤗
House purchase completed FEB 2023 🥳🍾 Left work. 🤗
Retired at 55 & now living off the equity £10k a year (until pensions start at 60 & 67).

Greetings from ICT - I made the journey so i must be on the mend, though it doesn't feel like it at times.
Pleasures for yesterday and today.
1. giving up trying to work and retiring to the sofa with lemsip. Sometimes you just have to give in to it.
2. watched "Who do you think you are" with DS
3. clean sheets - i put the laundry through the tumble drier. i never do that. Even OH said "blimey, you must be ill".
4. walked to the station. It took it out of me, and even to the point where i got on the train, i wasn't sure i was coming.
5. A weekend in ICT - i'm supposed to be hedge laying tomorrow but we shall see.
Have a good evening all.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
I have been a bit lapse in posting as a few emergencies and interview this week.
- I am in a bit of an odd job offer situation, I was made an offer of a job which I am not in a position to reject, but they have messed me around and been rather harassing, it may sound odd but it just doesn’t feel right, I have today decided not to progress it with that much stress before even starting. In the meantime, I have chased down a role I really wanted that looks like it’s also come to fruition. I don’t like the idea of messing people around but I am having to look out for myself and it feels a bit of an odd situation to be in.
- On Wednesday DH and I spent a full day and night dismantling, burning and installing a new disabled ramp for my father to garden, only to come out of my interview today to urgent calls about him, but he is still at home.
- When coming back late one evening this week I wanted to detour to the Chinese but I was too late they had shut for the day, which is good :rotfl:
- So I stuck to my food plan all week, and when DH picked me up from the station today, we popped to L!dl as it’s on the way from there so no extra fuel, I found we had to be very savvy their prices have really creeped up. We bought fresh milk, bread and carrots and treated ourselves to a strudel and 2 packets of posh crisps rather than take away at the weekend. Oh and stashed away a BOGOF on proper sized Wispa bars, spend was £20.:o
- I am enjoying being at home tonight, in the warm, with DH and the animals.:)

Evening all
Been struggling a bit for the last few days but here's five pleasures since last time:
1. DS1 unprompted brought me a cuppa in bed this morning - I was sitting up working on the laptop - impromptu moment of niceness.
2. Not sure if I should post this but feeling masses better after a really good cry this evening.
3. Have lost half a stone - weight loss is going according to plan, slow and steady.
4. Went in search of chocolate as comfort food (haven't had any of that or any other junk food for a long time and haven't even wanted any but this evening's been tricky). There are three big bars that I know of stashed in the house atm but I talked myself out of it and had fresh mango with greek yoghurt instead - lovely. Very pleased with myself, especially since I'm on my own tonight and there was nobody around to tell me to keep away from chocolate!
5. Plenty more NSDs.
Sweet dreams,
B x0 -
A day of ups and downs:
1) Got bigger son to his interview at college locally. The downside was being told, in his loudest voice across reception that he "isn't going to do ANYTHING after school, including come here" and to "get out" and leave him to it.
2) His school then phoned to say he walked out again yesterday, only staying for 2 hours. Lots of emails flying backwards and forwards and they are considering putting him on a part time timetable. It seems he spends lessons turning a plastic dinosaur over and over in his hands. They have noticed his hands are green where the dye rubs off. He is doing and learning nothing.
3) My work was not too bad.
4) Game pie for tea, made by a colleague.
5) Took bigger son to climbing (brother in law was teaching). Smaller son and I went to the gym (!) in the same complex while we waited. He DID climb but then exploded in anger when we went in about one route that he couldn't do. He made sure everyone knew that he HATES climbing and has done for years.
6) Watched the Last Leg.
7) Now down 13 lbs so 12 stones 7.0 -
5 Just been groomed with my new beard strimmer. Hairs everywhere. Toe nails being clipped as well. Rough edges being smoothed again! And BoPsie has been chinned with the curly bits. She likes it!
4 Breakfast of snorker, best back, mushrooms, beans, grilled toms and scrambled egg on hot buttered toast. Tea, jam, and buttered toast was also wolfed down.
3 Got a match this afternoon. More later!
2 Nites sticky chickens, dynamite mushrooms, and dragon prawns fermenting on the side. Wobbleade sourced. Was inn S lats eve as BoPse had voucher and we don't go there often. Rip Off. Avoid. Wobbleales are more expensive, so we left them on the shelf. Other items are more expensive as well. Use rule of BoP AVOID
Keep it in your pocket!
Now as yous lot are aware that BoP does look for deals. And he fixed last October his Gas and Electric. Well good news. BoP has enough pennies off his bill to liquidate more wobbleades inn the Bridge next month! £22 worth!Yippee. Please watch this space to know when to fix next time!0
