    Pleasures for today (Monday).

    1) Work went OK.

    2) 1 to 1 supervision at lunchtime, told a story about my not managing to get a spider so resorting to shouting "No, no, no!" at it. Pupil was crying with laughter!

    3) Met my school friend after work for a cup of tea.

    4) Bigger son stayed at school all day and got 2 better mock results.

    5) Watched the Undateables then First Dates with bigger son.

    6) Smaller son says he would like to go to football practice every Friday night. He has come on so much recently (in life, not football).

    Evening all :)

Mhags and family - so sorry to hear about your MiL. May the garden be abundant in sweet peas and tomatoes.

    Mila, get well quickly.

DD, agree about MOOCs. The other day I came the U3A's MOOCs webpage with a ton of links that might prove useful to someone http://u3asites.org.uk/advice-on-moocs/page/54736

Some pleasures for the last few days:

    1. Ordered a new load of wood to be delivered which should see us well into the advent of warmer weather.

    2. Finding out that DS1 had been brave enough to take action and physically put himself between two blokes who were having a very heated argument that looked as if it was on the cusp of becoming violent. He stopped it. Stunning.

    3. More fresh mango and Greek yoghurt puddings.

    4. Having supper with sons in front of fire and reading extracts of the funniest bits from 'Three Men in a Boat'.

    5. My MrT 'deals' gardening magazine arriving with useful freebie seeds this morning.

    6. More NSDs. :T

    7. Watching the numbers rise on that petition.

    Sweet dreams

    1. On Sunday we met friends for a very late lunch who we hadn't seen in a few years. It was lovely seeing them and catching up.

    2. Spent time earlier in the day in the garden- cutting back bushes and planting some bare rooted hedging. It was good for me being outside. DH enjoyed it too and I feel that he needs to spend time outside.

    3. DS1 and gf popped in briefly before going to visit MIL. They seemed happy.

    4. Spent Sunday evening watching tv and chatting with DH and DS2. No one had anything that needed to be done. It was relaxing.

    5. Work ok yesterday quiet at times but managed to clear majority of paperwork which is good especially as that's the part of the job I dislike but there seems more and more of it.

After a rather frantic Monday , I'm glad it's Tuesday bedtime!

In brief, DD1 had emergency surgery at local hospital this morning and is home.

OH had lots of our hospital yesterday & today ...and a bonus trip tomorrow for an extra CT.

I thought I'd managed to put off 'friends' who totally outstay their welcome by politely saying OH needed to rest on Wednesday ( and as it is we're now busy) ...they came back at me with well we can maybe do Saturday. Grrr!

Kindness of our medical team. One of our team is finishing on Friday and she has been so kind and I think over & above her duties. Gave her a hug goodbye . She has touched my heart.

Good chat with my sister .

A couple more red tomatoes . We had rain yesterday which is good for the garden & clears the air.

Prior to my life being turned upside down yesterday I'd bought a nice lightweight jumper in salvos & 6 buttons for school dress.

    Back to school tomorrow .

    Night night :)
  • Mhags: Maybe tell your "friends" you will let them know, they really should appreciate your current hectic situation.

These were mondays pleasures, I will hopefully be back later with todays.

    • I declined the offer and they have asked me to reconsider. Meanwhile other things are hopefully moving along. I just don’t know it’s a giant leap of faith here so keeping faith as it were.:o
    • Travelled today to pick up DH’s repaired under warranty tablet, seemed to be a very long drive probably because it was.:o
    • We needed to restock some animal pads, flea treatments, and a few bits from the warehouse which was on our way back so no extra fuel, while there we picked up things for DF it was also a nice calm day, shops didn’t seem to have blaring music for once it was rather nice.
    • Tonight, was easy pizza slice, well 2 slices, and I have just meal planned for the rest of the week.:o
    • The kitchen is cluttered again from where I cleaned it up the other day, it’s no good it’s just the way it’s meant to be. It’s at least clean.:p
  • 1. work over quickly v busy
    2. found a new series on Netflix watched 5 episodes !!
    3. very wet weather and gales on the way but at least its mild & heating turned down and the car is clean ;)
    4. cleared another bag of cardboard etc (empty tube from middle of wrapping paper / packaging jiffy bags from xmas deliveries)

  • 1) The rain was kind enough to ease off for the Cookie walk this afternoon, Sue and I got damp and the dogs slightly damper but not soaked.....small mercies.

    2) Lighting the stove this afternoon on a cold and dank afternoon, lovely to have the bright hearth to focus on and sometimes toast myself by!

    3) Prospect of a less wet day tomorrow in which hopefully I can get outside and enjoy it.

    4) The glories of a good book to lose myself in to stop getting 'cabin fever' currently reading a new to me Kate Sedley 'Roger the Chapman' novel.

    5) Primroses out on the front lawn on 3 separate plants, bright little patches of captured sunlight cheering up dull winter days.

    * No cooking tonight because it's cheap KFC chicken fried steak dinner on Tuesday night. I'm from a southern family and love all things fried. I don't partake often but love it when I do!!!:j

    * painters coming Thursday to begin the priming coats. :j

    * cabinets will be built and ready for pick up on Feb 13.:j They are in Alabama and I'm in NMex.
Cabinet guy says he will fly out to get them and haul them back. Checking freight companies too. My DD2 is a big gun in our state for UPS. They have freight also so we are going to crunch numbers.

    * still foggy brained and nauseated but my face continues to look much better. I'm not looking forward to getting a dental implant for that cracked tooth that was pulled but c'est la vie...or...s@&t happens, as we say in the States. :D

    * my house orchids are beginning to bloom. They last a long time and we love them so much!

    *
Overprepare, then go with the flow.
