  • Skint. My rules. Pre booked. They knew. Standard BoP rules. We will talk about it, discus it, realise BoP is correct and be done with it.

    Sorted.

'The five stages, denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance' dear friend's partner has been diagnosed in the late stages of liver cancer. Could be days, unlikely to be more than months. I am sooooo sad. Yet life goes on and so
    1) nice lunch of leftover chilli
    2) dear friend picked me up from work on condition we didn't talk about 'the situation' till we got home
    3) a lovely 2 hours drinking tea, laughing, crying, cuddling dogs, telling silly jokes and remembering things we didn't even realise we'd forgotten
    4) Dear friend leaving before mr piano arrived home, so no awkwardness. Have, with dear friend's permission, told me piano
    5) phoned children to break news. Grateful for the mobile phone
Love you all more than you'll know. There are always 5 things to be grateful however dark the moment seems. Night xxx

Oh, Dundeedoll, sorry to hear that :-( What a tough year 2016 has been, for so many people.

Didn't update yesterday, don't know where the time went. Went to bigger son's parent evening with some trepidation. Also appointment with head of year about his recent naughtiness. All teachers pleased with him. Head of year ended up talking about morning sickness and chickens with me! They're not as worried as I am.

Got home and had message my university housemate's dad had died during the day. Considerably younger than my parents and her mum died 4 years ago. Still can't believe it.

    Pleasures for today:

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Not a bad day at work, though worked without a break. Rather out of my comfort zone encouraging someone with their art coursework but it proved quite interesting.

    3) Off to smaller son's school after work. Meeting about the few people not being nice to him (they've coined a slang term for the autism centre he is based in, rather than the usual "special needs" insult). Staff annoyed to hear that. He had his fingers bent backwards yesterday and 2 are still swollen. (This makes the school sound awful, though it really isn't!) He was called "unteachable" at 8, excluded at 9 but is now expected to get pretty good GCSEs...

    4) Popped in to Sainsburys after the meeting.

    5) Brother had babysat and brought round my Christmas present - a tonne of logs!

    6) Cheating ready meal for tea as it was quite late by the time I got home.

    7) Enjoyed watching I'm a Celebrity.
  • 5 See notes above regarding today. Duvet testing has been carried out. Told you so! Now if you're reading this at work. Get on with your work.

4 And the cricket us on as well. Oh dear. The dog looks good in the field.

3 BoP is doing the car, trimming his beard and messing about today, but thirst.

2 This morning, as mentioned yesterday. Porage is so out of date, BoP has used his buttered marmite soldiers in two dippy eggs. Proper food, none of that carp inn here.

You could be affected by BoP's continued gloateness. Good!

Are you all ready for me to start moaning? It's too hot! The huffing and puffing has started today. Our first hot day at 33o. Boo hiss!

Washing out and in again, the only plus to the heat.

Walked Haggis round to vets , he loves going to the vets. Went in to make an appointment for this afternoon ...so we walked back round again this afternoon. Very nice new vet ( rather handsome in a rugged , tanned, handsome vet kind of way! ) he even kissed my dog, remarked on his lovely coat, his beautiful clean ears , his lovely nature and ahem his slight overweight ness! Haggis is on a diet and has to lose 4 kg. on his vaccine card his comments were 'healthy but voluptuous!'

DD1 and I went for lunch then did supermarket shop. Oh the joys of choosing your own food and pushing your own trolley. I much prefer that than an online order.

Exams are over unless there are any fails then they have to be resat but hurrah for them being finished for this year.

DD1 has started tutoring 2 local boys ( and being paid handsomely ) and came home with half a dozen freshly laid eggs from their chooks!
I was so delighted with this and changed them into omelettes for tea!

    Have a good one :)
  • Oh, I forgets. Emergency :heartpuls from Jenny to the Mad Hatter!
