    Pleasures for today (Saturday)

    1) A bit of a lie in.

    2) Watched videos of turtles with smaller son.

    3) Went to Hereford for lunch and to renew/change my phone contract. New phone now that works, instead of freezing all the time. £2 a month cheaper than the old one and I got a £50 giftcard for Currys.

    4) Driving back from Hereford (v little traffic), noticed through my driver's window that for perhaps 100 metres, I was keeping pace with a buzzard, flying 50cm above the tarmac. I felt like I was a wildlife cameraman!

    5) Popped in to see mum and dad on the way home.

    6) Brother came for tea (chips from the van) and to watch TV.

    7) In bed now with 1hwb and about to watch HIGNFY.
  • 1) Many rugby matches on the TV, magic!

    2) Didn't get wet walking Cookie but I was the only person out in the whole village, we saw no one else.

    3) Today is a much nicer one altogether with sunshine and blue sky.

    4) Super moon tonight if we're cloud free (well it will still be there if we aren't) and lucky enough to see it.

    5) Grilled steak for supper this evening, YS of course!

Morning all - didn't get to bed till 2 so, typically was up early today

    Anyhoo, pleasures since Thursday

    1. True to form left my NVivo workshop early - the first time i have sat as a student in an undergraduate class for 30 years. They APPLAUDED the lecturer :rotfl:
    2. Caught an earlier train back :T and had cod and prawn curry on it for dinner - and got two of my favourite Ugli bars....
    3. DD had come home. She isn't well and had come for some mummy care (not that i do anything, just sympathy.)
    4. Went for lunch with friend on Friday
    5. Bought an M&S dine in for £10 deal. The main wasn't all that (Veggie lasagne). I don't really do ready made food and it convinced me not to again. Tho it is a good deal - the lasagne, garlic mushrooms side (we had it as a starter), a pudding and a bottle of wine for £10 - the wine alone was selling at £7
    6. A day at the desk yesterday - finished my Inter library loan book and joined the British Library Reading room. I think i may be there a fair amount over the next few years.
    7. Out for dinner with friends (at their house) last night. We see them a couple of times a year - we were all at ante natal classes together 20 odd years ago. Was lovely to catch up. much laughs.. 8. Both OH and I were driving (he had been out with DS to the football) so whilst i am tired at least my head is clear...:T

    Have a great day all.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

DundeeDoll - I recommend joining/starting a cake club! I'm a member of the Clandestine Cake Club. There may be one local to you? Alternatively, at a friend's workplace, they take it in turns to bake *new* (to them) recipes to share once a fortnight.

DigForVictory - I wish. I need gin underneath my desk. ;)

In all honesty, I'm getting fed up of the lack of respect I'm being shown at work by some of the children and parents. If I had behaved like that when I was a pupil, I'd have been reprimanded by both school AND home. In fact, I was!

    However, there are pleasures:

    1) Cooked a new recipe for a Keema Curry last week. 2 more portions in the freezer for another time.

    2) A friend paid me the money he owes me. Not OS and not too much, but definitely a pleasure to receive it.

    3) Cinema with friends. The film was rather questionable, but still good to go out.

    4) DH has attacked the ironing pile! DH won!

    5) Spent yesterday morning cleaning the house. And we won... until the cat walked across the window sill with her muddy paws!!

  • Not sure where Friday went to :(

    1. day off work
    2. shopping done at 8.30am before school run parents arrived & took all parking spaces
    3. did some tidying and batch cooking
    4. slept for a couple of hours in the afternoon
    5. roast gammon with cauli & broccoli cheese for tea

    Saturday pleasures

    1. bacon & egg sarnie for breakfast

    2. met up with a friend I haven't seen for a few weeks and went to B and M - got some stocking filler bargains including a Captain America flannel for DS - it was the only one on the shelf and no price tag and they let me have it for 50p (cant break the tradition - every year has to have a flannel, socks & chocolate coins in his stocking... and he's 21 :rotfl:)

    3. Also got 2 cheap glass clip lock jars - I am making DS & his GF a pot of gold each - a christmas idea on this site - they look great. So far I've got fererro rocher, gold choc bar, gold hot choc & some mini twix - all bought on offer

    4. afternoon snooze followed by more tidying.

    5. leftover gammon & cauli cheese for tea.

Now BoP is not going to be &'d this day!

5 BoP was off early yesterday up norff. That is up to Lincoln an FiL. Sorted. Then to Alford Mill and the proper Jumbo oats have been sourced. 12lb has been placed in the Motor of BoP. And all you need to easter. These are proper rolled oats, for making PORAGE. For those in doubt, check out the Jock version!

4 Then we herded off the Steels Corner House and BoP, being rather hungry, has three courses. Filo Prawns and salad. Wolfed down. Large 'Addock, and chips. Wolfed down. The Slime Jelly and ice cream. Licked down! Tum needed serious rubbing as well. Listened to the Mariners on the wireless thing and then home.

3 Then Disaster. BoP was suffering big time and had to go the AnE. Problem was a slight fever setting me chest off. I thought it was Jenny kicking off. No Problem. On the anti bi optics! Well you know. A work colleague at new mill had slight cough last week and also got the am ox's. Now BoP no minds about getting fever, just that I only incubate for you and give it back as a better variant. You should check out virus things on the web.

2 Night is reverse weekend. As BoP was offski early last day, we are finishing on Brunch. So full English for tea. Snorkers and best back. Mushrooms, star cut toms and all the trimmings. Also poached eggs on hot buttered marmite toast!

More news from BoP available in the usual plaices!
    Edit
Unfortunately. the six pack of best back, only contains seven rashers! BoP, as you will be well aware by now, will have too many rashers!

    Thankyou dfv.

Just in, just heard and just trying to find out more, reach everyone.
    No power in Hawkes Bay.
    Big follow-on storms now lashing.

It's as big as our big 1931 roller, further South, but a river of increasing shakes and waves, all biggies. The tsunami's a hitter on &'s coast. Napier's built on it.

    Hi All,

Hopes from me, too, that all in NZ are ok, &.

    Five pleasures for Sunday:

    1. Late morning spent with work party at allotment clearing brambles ready for new fencing. It was nice to be well wrapped up and active in the sunshine.

    2. Afternoon nap - bliss.

    3. Good picking of different salad crops: lettuce, lamb's lettuce, endive, land cress. Took some over to my parents at tea time. They were in good form and my mum who's recently had cataract surgery is very pleased with the way her colour vision has returned. Fingers crossed things will get better and better.

    4. Got DS1 back home safe and sound after his weekend away.

    5. Fantastic moon. A guy was photographing it in the street when I was getting into my car so we had a chat about it. Until he mentioned it, I hadn't realised it's a supermoon tomorrow night. Fingers crossed that the sky is clear.

    Sweet dreams
    B x
  • My pleasures for today.

    1. Catching up with the series The Missing.
    2. Walking doggies through forest in sunshine.
    3. Meeting mil in pub for lunchtime drink and having a good natter.
    4. Steak & chips for dinner.
    5. Cup of hot milk before bed.
