5 OS Pleasures in your Day Today part 2

I will be checking out your comments later!
5 Just been and leeched down at the quacks. Fifteen pints of 100% Proof delievered, now been flamed down the local lab. Should be an inn ferno! More later. Usual rule, it hurt her more than it hurt me.
4 Relax. Now where was BoP. Alas, he was out in town this morn. Haslet has been purchased for putting between two slices of bread. Remember other outlets charge you twice the price of a loaf for some gumpf in between a slice. Avoid!
3 Had too much toast last evening, buttered with marmite and cocoa. Helps you sleep. Now when you can sleep proper, with proper things, it helps them wrinkles. Disappear. Oblivious, you realise that BoP does not have wrinkles. Now you know why!
2 Day BoP is doing a lot of not a lot.
Your average weekly read of BoP notes takes five minutes. In that time you can have a cup of tea as well. Grab a biscuit and enjoy0 -
I see you all have been up to a lot (and some to a bit of nonsense but I'm naming no names) while I was in Albuquerque. Sequoia (she calls herself Quoye) was in wonderful form (although there were a couple instances of the terrible twos  ). The dreaded SIL was fairly civil. He was actually trying. DD1 is a brilliant bright spot in our lives, as always.
* DD1 was able to conclude part 2 of her grant funded research before we got to her house. She had four participants on Saturday morning and the testing ran over, but as we were lollygagging along on our way up it worked to be perfect timing. We stopped for a delectable Mexican breakfast>>>huevos rancheros and perfectly made chile rellenos... more cheese less batter...perfect. Hard to find rellenos made right. We will be back.
* I couldn't find my sunglasses before we left (found under our couch by DS2 = how did they get there?). We drove in marvelous cloud cover for 4 hours there, unusual for New Mexico, a relief as the sun is soooo white bright! Lots of Arnold Palmers drank (half iced tea and half lemonade)
* Fish tacos, made by DD1, along with avacados, HM fresh peach salsa, black beans with garlic, onions and epazote were Ravenously consumed by all.
* Our bedroom is across a hall and behind their newly remodeled kitchen. Adobe walls deafen all sound. Slept in.
* Sunday morning we decided to drive instead of taking the train to Santa Fe. Train 1 hr 50min vs driving 45 min (lead foot on gas pedal) The train stops too many times.
* Found fantastic parking garage so that when we took the elevator up it opened right on the 95th year of Indian Market. 202 tribes were represented by their various artists with over 800 booths, all outdoors around the Santa Fe plaza. Gorgeous weather. Babygirl hated the backpack seat she was to sit in so it was slow walking with her but then she wasn't bawling either. OH and I enjoyed the pace. Turquoise jewelry, sand paintings, hand made pottery The Zuni dig the clay for their pots from their sacred mountain. Other pueblo tribes dig from the Rio Grande river banks. Beautiful hand loomed Navajo rugs whose wool comes from the sheep they raise. Gorgeous daily life scene oil paintings and of Indian Chiefs in their regal feather headdresses. Drums for sale from aspen wood and elk skins. Wooden and stone sculptures of native mothers with their babies, hunters, eagles, deer and bears, kachinas and many other.
* Microbrewed beer and hand made pizza at an outdoor terrace table overlooking a family of beautifully arrayed Indian dancers below us dancing. Pictures with and monetary gifts for them by many tourists. They keep their dancing traditions alive by teaching their children. Some as young as three dancing. It's precious to see the pride in the faces of the parents as the crowd oohs over their little ones.
* Sequoia so wanted to hear the drums played and finally we sat down to a lively group of drummers as they played and chanted. I have a FB Native American friend who is teaching his son, aged two, to drum and sing. It's a much loved and practiced tradition by many tribes amoung their men.
* One last family of hoop dancers, the father a five time world hoop dancing champion. (Is there hoop dancing all over the world?) Children age 7,5,3 and a baby strapped onto a papoose board. The family are Apache from Arizona. Mom is in full Apache dress and wearing high heels. She wasn't dancing, nor was baby.
* Home to green chile enchiladas, the sauce already made. Yum!
* On Monday morning, after OH worked out, we went to our favorite Albuquerque taqueria for breakfast. Cheap food made by people who know how to cook! then on to a three hour wait before he got to see the hand surgeon. Appt at 10:15 and we finally got out at 1:30. Whew!
DD1 got home early from her clinic and we had a beautiful afternoon to sit outside in the courtyard. It's old brick set in sand with cottonwood and pear trees, old red blooming rose bushes, bamboo, a tree swing for babygirl, many flowers. Fragrance in the air, relaxing in comfy chairs, sipping iced drink of choice and watching Quoye play with the dogs. Heaven.
*SIL disappears to his studio to work, we eat leftovers, everyone in bead early but me. I stay up to continue watching Blackchurch Season 2 on Netflix. Quest bars and Arnold Palmers chowed down on after midnight.
* Breakfast at Tia Bonny Blue with DS3 and his darling GF and a fairly pleasant SIL (always a nice surprise when it happens) Red chile enchiladas with sour cream. Great trip home. I went to bed at 6p and woke up at 8a.
* Lazy day today. Slight breeze as fall begins to bring the heat down to a more manageable 91F. We got rain while we were gone! That sure helps my water bill!Overprepare, then go with the flow.

Quick pleasures for today as smaller son is revolting. :-/
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Smaller son went to the cricket all day with my brother and second dad. He only got back at 7pm but 5 hours of barked commands, rudeness, swearing and barging past us is quite enough. Worcs losing at present.
3) Bigger son and I had rather a nice day. He finished his weather vane that was my birthday present (or was it mother's day?) and photos will follow. :-) We went to a local stately home (not NT for once) and enjoyed looking for priest holes. Bigger son asked me a million questions about Christians that I couldn't answer (not being one).
4) Popped to uphill neighbour to say thank you for looking after the cats while we were abroad.
5) A tasty roast dinner.
6) Enjoyed watching Great British Bake Off.0 -
Back from holidaying in Britains best kept secret.
The I.O.M is such a beautiful place
Highlights - Sea, sand, paddling, castles, museums, waterwheels, electric trams, steam trains, horse trams, sweet roads (wish I could drive them), smoked kippers, Jurby junk, Oliver at the theatre, go karting on an outdoor track, watching motorbike racing, ice cream, basking on rocks, MPA, trekking, seals, mountains, no phone or internet, the list goes on....
But most of all family time, buried my dads ashes in a beautiful spot then soon after witnessed my bro proposing to his girlfriend of 12 years :T"Why not now, OK so when and how," ElephantChunks.

Whopping big thunder and storms last night.
Have now been up for several hours trrying to reach NZ. No luck yet.
Just reported a new user pm to mse towers - invasive, quasi-threatening, peculiar. Don't want or need.

1. 15hrs Addenbrookes day with someone is done. Another in 3wks possible. It is a good place. Recent flares of inflammatory muck-raking press coverage astonish &. It is one of the world's great teaching and reasearch hospitals. We are lucky to have it.
2. Garden room person still in situ, unobtrusive. Some sort of normalcy for that person thus slightly possible. Good that this can be so.
3. Water butts may have filled overnight. Hope so.
4. Hospital car park man was generous and kind, thank goodness. Not £20-ish for longstay day, but £3.50 with free exit pass for any follow-up.
5. Have just heard about Italian earthquake and more UK beach deaths yesterday. & will walk into kitchen and open fridge, put kettle on, eat an orange and some natural yogurt...all simple 'don't think twice' actions....and Poirot just beginning on R4X.

Bless you &, hoping have spoken to NZ by now. Addenbrookes has much to be admired, cared well for Lainey's bro and Dad, well done on the human parking attendant.
Yes, much lightening around last night and blessed cool rain.
A much needed day off, time spent with furry friends and darling Captain S, reading, sleeping, perfick. Having another today!
Finished my latest book, X by Sue Grafton. Have read many of these books and do like her heroine Kinsey Milhone, it's all set in the US, 1980's and nostalgic pre computer world.
Meal out with pals, love & support but also eye watering laughter over silly jokes and reminiscing. So much so that the couple sitting at the table next to us said thank you for a good evening when they left!
Dropped pal off home and driving down dark lanes to our village, steam rising off the tarmac so very atmospheric, then headlights caught bright eyes of roe deer standing on edge of road, drove slowly past, magical.0 -
1) actually had some sleep last night and managed to get back off when I woke up very hot.
2) He Who Knows is home again albeit on the allotment now as it's shaping to be a very hot day again, it's nice to have him here.
3) The Steam Trains programme with Ruth Goodman et al. to look forward to tonight.
4) DD1 made chocolate and raspberry flapjacks yesterday and sent a couple home for us so looking forward to mine with a cuppa this afternoon.
5) All of you who are a real comfort and absolute support when times are difficult. I know we don't know each other in 'real' life but I've had such caring, generosity and strength from so very many of my OS friends that it is a debt I'll never be able to repay. It IS appreciated! thank you!!! xxx.0 -
Good evening , just waiting on my veggies cooking to go with roast potatoes and steak pie, steak has been in slow cooker all afternoon.
Made a bread and butter pudding for pudding which looks lovely.trying to entice a husband whilst he still has an appetite, will probably be away by weekend if last chemo pattern is the same.
Also have some mini mince pies made with the last of jar of mincemeat and some black currant jam tarts to use up pastry.
Today I had an appointment at solicitor to get some paperwork verified, he kindly did this for free.
Cleaned bathrooms, shamefully pulled out sofas in front room to hoover underneath and mop. Shocking! Found 8 pebbles ( Haggis likes stones) , a pen, a water bottle and lots of dust bunnies. Didn't think it was that long since it was done!
Christmas tree put away! So, undecorated the tree a couple of weeks ago and wrapped it up in huge bin liners...with one thing and another ( like 2 sets of hospital stays) it was still in middle of front room. Anyway, now out in shed. Stay away spiders.
Bought 2 bunches of daffodils from florist, they are donating a dollar with every bunch they sell to daffodil day for Cancer Council tomorrow. They are my favourite flower.
Watched Bake Off...contented sigh
Sorted through some paperwork. We seem to be missing a box of paperwork since we moved . Hmmmm...anyway a pile for recycling!
Dinner time!
Have a great day !0 -

5. Happy pooch playing with her ball in the sun0 -
Now where was BoP!
5 One letter back seems to have the BoPsie boots tickled. East that. Now for the others to come in. Not everything in black and white is what it is.
4 If it is nonsense yous is after, then yous come to the right plaice. Was out on treader last eve. Then the rains came down. Cleared the air. Checked calendar. Oh good M5 watch on Saturday. It is blank holiday. Note BoP does not recommend sitting in the car, when you could be in the wobbleade emporium. Cheers!
3 Getting ready for the rehash of cardio. Wander what sh 1 T will be presented this week. I wonder if she will have the results of yesterday leeching session. More later.
2 Toning is probably a film night. Last eve was a bit of the cricket. As noted above. Rain. So take your brolly.
