Jolly Hockey Sticks then!
:heartpuls to the needy
And relax.
5 So last week is sticky chicken that we have had enough of them. There gone! Tonight is garlic mushrooms, peppered, with slimed chilli prawns and mint. Recipe has been hounded down by generations and not available in the emporium. Please be aware BoP does not buy double processed foods, that is food, prepared once, then processed again, such as those water mess 7 day old sandwiches served up in the emporiums disguised as carp. Why pay £2 for a slice of bread when the loaf is far cheaper. Especially the one that BoP buys, cherpy cherpy cheap at w8rs for 45 of his pennies. Toasted and buttered, none of that coloured glycerine carp, covered in seeded raspberry jam is more filling and good for you. Now where was BoP. Ah pre ordained foods. Those packets of food, where to disguise the fact it is carp, they kindly add superfluous ingredients to make it look evenb worse. Avoid.
Oh, and individual home made plain toast pizza bits as well. Wobbleades are chilling in the refrigerator for later. Please refrain from drinking nitrogen infested chemical drinks such as lager.
4 On a roil is BoP. Freshly made that is. Now where was the BoP. Oh yes. BoP found a Celia movie last night, one with the Noel Coward in it was well. Very patriotic. Bloody ship sunk and they clung on to the life raft. Excellent. Raffles also go a treat, wobbleade was consumed. BoPsie had her Fuel de Tarte, a nice Australian wine. Other wines varieties are available, but not sourced in BoP pad.
3 Just wound up box of ogle for the T20 bash. My monies are on the rose of white for this game.
2 Day we have changed the routine and now we have SatFest Brunch. This will ensure those who are hungry go unnoticed as snorkers of plenty will be fired under the grill. Best back will be added as well as star cut tome, beans that happen to be in juice of tom. Mushrooms, buttered toast will also be wolfed down. Please note, wolfing down your food could lead to indigestion. please make sure you have milk of magnesia handy to prevent bloating and burping. Should this occur please seek immediate attention.
I have a Buck of Face message from some nice lady from Russia. She looks a stunner! I will wait for her conformation picture where she is probably related to some shot putter! Please be aware of the scams!0 -
Prayers said this morning for so many needs here. You are much thought of through the day.
I am really enjoying the BBC radio links!!!!! Snipes and kittiwakes on the Tyne and brass swords found in the Tay! Thank you Amp!!!
On our way this morning to Albuquerque. Be back Tuesday.
Be good you lot!Overprepare, then go with the flow.

Happy Anniversary MHags x
Blustery day here and very heavy downpours
1. lie in
2. bacon egg & beans for brunch
3. walk to post office between downpours - just ! Heavens opened minutes after I walked back in the door
4. have made a start on clearing the "stuff" in this house ! Living room cupboard - photos, some printed years ago and never put in albums - now all sorted - shame I didn't mark them all with the dates they were taken, but have managed some order judging by how we have aged :rotfl: Travelled memory lane with many.
5. A couple of years worth of birthday cards in the recycling bin. Cards are so lovely now that I find it hard to throw them away - I have kept one or two special ones and grudgingly parted with the rest and 4 years worth of phone books and yellow pages also gone - why do they still print them ? Cant say I've ever looked up a telephone number - just chuck them in the cupboard when they arrive and there they stay !
Also sorted the magazine rack and found another camera memory card - wonder what's on that ! and a bottle of Mackenzies smelling salts which expired 05 2004
Just the rest of the house to go ! Its a bit overwhelming but am trying a bit at a time. DS is worse than me for hoarding so have left him a pile to look through before it goes in the bin. If he wants to keep anything he will have to put it in his own room. He keeps all his birthday cards in a box in his wardrobe so am not chucking anything important to him !

Pleasures for today (Saturday)
1) A lie in. Only 1 proper one left!
2) Sons suddenly appeared. Not due back until tomorrow night. Smaller son ate his waffles (helped by me). Bigger son did some work in the shed.
3) Smaller son and I went to town for pokemon hunting. The last £10 went for petrol. I enjoyed being the best mummy in the world for a while. It won't last long, once they get used to being back home!
4) Have spent hours sanding flaking paint in the bathroom, painting over it and have finally glossed the skirting board and door frame. They have been waiting 12 months. :-/
5) Doing nothing now besides watching the Olympics. Pyjamas on and a hwb.0 -
love the hockey players &
well both of us lost 2-1 today bop so i won't be gloating :-(
hugs to all who are in need of hugs
jobs for all those who need jobs
better working conditions for those whose jobs are a bit bleuh at the moment
Today we went, well guess where...
1) down to edinburgh, picking up dd2 and her bf en route, to emporium
2) sat on lots of armchairs and sofas. i have more plans for the front room
3) then to cafe to eat swedish meatballs and mash, washed down with endless cups of tea
4) then bought 2 door mats which are perfect for the area in the hall where the laminate needed cutting back for dry rot eradication. had found custom made for £48 on line and these were £7 each, so feeling chuffed. Added bonus of being given £20 voucher which xoh will find handy for furnishing her flat (she's renting unfurnished)
5) and now in bed which is always a pleasure. snotty cat one side, cup of tea other side, catching up on corrie where leanne has just uttered the immortal lines 'you'd like liverpool, they've got a really good football team'. dangerous thing to say in manchester i'd have thought.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025
25 for 25: 127 / 625
declutter: 173 / 2025

1) Heard from Ruthie last night, sent them a text just to tell them how much I love them and she came right back to me saying they were all OK and that now they had more hope for the small one, a blessing if ever there was one!
2) Talking to DD1 and hearing all the plans she has for entertaining the Zebra child when he goes to stay with her for the weekend coming which include a train ride, a bus ride, a trip to the canal basin to see the narrow boats and a canal museum, scrap book and Green glue to stick steam train, canal boat and tractor pictures in, bubbles, pavement chalk, making cakes and biscuits at home and crocodile and giraffe shaped cheesy sandwiches, he'll be exhausted (so will she).
3) Mo Farah getting the second gold medal and his joy on the TV when he said that there was now one each for each of his children, magic!
4) The wind has died down and the bean frame has stayed up!
5) The prospect of a week of nice weather to come.0 -
Reading posts, seeing that DD is turning BoPeneese Speek! Bad news from Theatre of Fish!
Now, BoP had a KD yesterday see below.
5 Kitchen Disaster. Not the fault of BoP though. BoP went to emporium w8rs, bought snorkers of £2. Not the cheap ones, that are sooooo tasty, but ones that were on offer. Now last time BoP was out in the wilderness of SparraLands, I bought, once a meal that went in digs wave of micros. The dog ate it as it was truly awful. Now these snorkers were, in a word, carp. BoPsie rescued the wrapper from the bin and said I was hoodwinked. Apparently said snorkers were specially selected by some none entity school dinner cook who once appeared on the box of ogle. Please avoid these so called snorkers. You don't need to know, but Raffles, decent food detection system, ignored them. They are made by somebody who rhymes with Spanking! Though to be honest, its should start with a Double U
4 On the subject of decent food detection system called Raffles, his eyes exploded yesterday as the fresh prawns were top be washed. On the blind side he got on the sink and was head thirst into them. BoPsie rescued the prawns and fed Raffles one. As said yesterday, sticky chicken is so last week. Slimed Prawns in hot chilli sauciness, garlic mushrooms and bittsa pizza were wolfed down, wobbleades were consumed as the T20 cricket was played out. If you read BoP's post yesterday, he said he had placed BoPsie's housekeeping on the white brose. If you were folly enough to follow this advice, you could had seriously damaged your wealth! As BoP could not find anyone to side his acca with Scunthopre he left his money in his deep pockets!
3 On about the pockets of deep this morning, on my visit to the emporium of w8rs (free paper and voucher!) I had to baulk out the shopping. BoPsie had run out of Dishwasher tablets and Raffles was near to out of his cat of go. Now, we do not use that fairy stuff at £10 a packet. As it is the steam and squirt that cleans the crockery, the nice cheap ones are as good. As BoPsie has her 20% off on her free coffee card, we again struggled to get the shop up to £30. Now there is some laffable lassie on net who claims to do better. But where is she today? As for the cat of go and Raffles (also on 20% offer). Raffles still has not gone!
2 And as I managed to look at the carp food counter, as sometimes, like the other day, there are Bar Guns. Again there was masses of preordained foods, such as something called spatchcock chicken at £5.99, reduced from £9.99. Now you can get a bird for £2.99, and a can of toms for £0.40p. Of course, ask why the food is coated in artificial flavourings to hide the poor food. Avoid. Now I bough some mackerels and these will be grilled later. Fresh parsley sauce will be made, as well as fresh mushy peas and tatties new and minted. And best of all, the sponge of chocolate from last week will be steamed up for pud. Lumpy custard will also be made.
Now fill your good self up with goodness and then go out and spread your happiness to all0 -
Bedtime for me as we have a very early start tomorrow , hospital first thing and will be there all day and OH will be in overnight.
Today we went for afternoon tea at a very nice place in the country. My MIL had kindly given us some money a couple of months ago to have a nice family treat and with one thing and another this was us just getting round to spending it.
Once we eventually found the place, sat Nav took us a very circuitous way and then there were road signs....then no road signs!
It was a buffet setting . Hot food: sausage rolls, breaded chicken, battered prawns all mouthful sizes. Anti-pasti of meats and cheeses and olives and breads. Cakes of all sorts : cheesecake, eclairs, tiny cupcakes ( but everything was tiny) , gateaux, mousse, jellies, meringues, caramelised sugar encased nuts, delicious lemon tarts, teeny scones and jam and cream. A chocolate fountain with churros and fruit and marshmallows. Fruit salad. Tiny finger sandwiches . Lashings of tea. All very lovely and apart from OH we all got our money's worth! Staff were very attentive and friendly which is nice, kindly took some family photos.
Home and straight out of glad rags and back into comfies!
Nice chat with SIL in morning and my sister in evening .
Have a lovely Sunday
Mrs Lw young Master Z sounds like he will have a fabulous time next weekend.
& boss is just an @rse at times ...nothing to do with his nationality!0 -
Hi all.
Desperate to grab some pleasures as I'm feeling so sad right now.
Hopefully this will help.
Biggest girl has flown the best to go travelling in oz for two years Happy for her but missing her terribly, also terrified she'll not come back.
So some positives
1. She's brave enough to do it and has planned it all herself.
2. It's the chance of a lifetime and I'm excited for the things she will see.
3. Modern day technology has meant that I could see her flight, talk to her before she left and since she's arrived. Tomorrow we get to Skype, how wonderful I can see her face!
4. Middle child gets her own room, albeit until big one is back.
5. Her leaving means Ive done a good job right, not that I've driven her away.
Glad the family had a wonderful tea mhags, more memories stored xxxSIMPLY BE-££577.11:eek:
