MrsLW, mhagster and Lainey thinking of you all in these difficult times.
Today's pleasures:
1. Sitting in a dry, warm room as rain cascades down the windows.
2. Knowing that our onion harvest was bunched by me yesterday and is hanging, drying in our big greenhouse and shed. Enough bulbs for at least 7 months
3. An almost full vegetable freezer, it takes time to process the allotment harvest but it will worth all of the trouble.
4. 1 large glass sweet jar full of salted runner beans sitting on the pantry floor. A childhood taste I've not outgrown, though no one else here will eat them. It just wouldn't be Christmas dinner without them. (And yes, I do know how bad too much salt is for your heart, but this is one link with my past I'm not ready to give up just yet!)
5. Books. Rumer Godden and Graham Greene this week. I have eclectic tastes, and very full bookshelves0 -
Look yous lot, Jenny who has been playing up and now on six month checks cannot keep on giving out :heartpuls :heartpuls :heartpuls :heartpuls :heartpuls at will and you drop like ... There, needy sorted!
5 Watched the cricket last evening as the white rose came close to going out, but managed to turn it around. BoPsie has got all the moves and trues. Think she needs a trip out soon.
4 Popped into town this morning and got some bits in for the weekend. BoPsie has got rather too much tart fuel as it was on offer. Wobbleades were also sourced . Other drinks are available. Snorkers and best back were purchased. See tomorrow for details on how they are cooked up.
3 Had to change blood test days as got to go to Chippenham for interview. Should be interesting as we are stuck on the 2.7 hdl mark, and been there for a few centuries now, and the consultant wants it reduced by 40%, from where it always has been. BoP is clutching at straws. Further medical advice is available from google!
2 Night we should has that Marylyn film, BoPsie had control over the brick last night as she was practising her moves and twitches. Sourced wobbleades will be consumed.
Oh I forgot to say Jenny, who is playing up, was tested the other day on the electric chair. She has a leak on her ventrical lead and spark plug, but she is not being ripped out just yet

Dearest MrsLW and & loved ones are close to my heart, wrapped together with all in Mhags home and big hug for Jenny.
Hurrah for son of VJsMum. Good for him, youngest hollow-legged SS was only four marks off a A after re-take, is asking for a re-mark despite unconditional offer from Northumbria.
DD, we loved loved Lincoln cathedral, came back from w-end away with much improved calf muscles
Out this morning to horsey town to visit library and pick up more reading material.
Watching dark clouds rolling over, luckily quite a lot dumped on Lainey's garden so looking much greener.
In between showers much dead heading done, number of apples already picked as they seem to be ripening quickly this year, will need to clear space in shed as worked well last year for storage.
Visit form the newly-weds :j
Nick Skelton's gold medal0 -
Sorry to hear about uncle, Ampersand. I hope he picks up - many do within a day or two. We have an ancient aunty at the moment (only surviving sibling of any of our grandparents) and we don't know how she is still here. Dementia to the point where she cannot do anything (talk, walk) and has not eaten now for weeks. It seems the game is she stays in the home until she gets an infection. Infection gets treated in hospital. Sent back to home. We are glad grandma and ancient uncle went at 92 and 95 and do not know this is happening.
Well done, VJsmum's son. I was actually thinking about his results earlier because I don't know anyone else at all who got exam results yesterday! My sons came home from ice cream town today (with their father). My friends from sixth form college are camping there but can't remember the name of the site. We always used to stay at the one by Rhydyronen but they're not at that one this time.
Glad Jenny is still going, BoP.
Pleasures for today:
1) A lie in.
2) Marmite on toast for breakfast. I quite fancy another piece now I've typed that!
3) Went for a long walk this afternoon along the canal. Found 6 geocaches. So nice to have a walk in cooler weather and in the rain.
4) No money at all after holiday and looking that there will be none to spare for 2 months. I did know this would happen. Spent £20 on a W8rose gift card and have £30 on my Nectar card for next week. It's like the old days where I had £15 per week for everything that the 3 of us needed - lived like that for 18 months. Ate raspberries off the allotment - some canes are a different variety with raspberries 4cm long! A glut of courgettes so had them in a curry for my tea.
5) Details of my new job came through the post. Sadly, not permanent! I'm canvassing for the council - £1 for each household that I chase up about registering to vote. I've been given about 20 streets, strangely right by the canal where I was walking today. Also had a letter about bigger son's work experience (coming up) and one from Jeremy Corbyn. Ampersand - I cannot warm to Owen Smith.
6) Hens looking good and I took them some leftover rhubarb crumble.
7) Watching the Olympics now.0 -
Just in.
Frith, also had corbyn's letter today. More lollipop-world generalities, no hard sums. Even as stalking horse, OS is still better, although murdoch and torygraph delight in any warpable comments e.g. pushing T May and isis roundtable.
In the end, however loathesome, even rictus grin jaw-jaw is better than war-war - and inevitable.
Human race would not have survived thus far otherwise, but who's going to bother reading what he ACTUALLY said?
Longevity in both our famberleys methinks...no marbles missing anywhere chez beloved Uncle+Aunt so far.

1 Mila - for your pleasure, as promised earlier, and everybody's:

This is wonderful stuff.
Also Mila, today's schedule so you can see a typical r4extra day.-

'Craven' is gritty brilliance being superlatively read by Maxine Peake atm, for your police procedural fix - and Edgar Wallace's old school PC Lee stories.
Another remarkable 'I rise. I rise' life.

There's been a recent decline, as r4x runs more 6-hr cycles than 8, as before. tory gumment/various pay-outs have played havoc with creative veins, new productions. Then again, these calamities have meant deep trawling for the richesse that has been lying there undisturbed in dark cellars for years. Up they're coming for another airing. Hopefully, they'll remind the coming generation of producers, writers and actors what genuine quality is and is possible. Not holding breath.

1. Gibby girls and their sticks. & brandished one in her day. Going armed, with intent... Gibby girls are being brilliant and Sarah Orchard is excellent on any commentary, best of female bunch on wireless at Rio by 26.2 miles. The enzed females of &connections have repped at reasonable levels in times past, way better than moi:-)
2. Local-ish bus company is named Whippet. & took pic of one showing WOOF! , just like that, filling its digital destination display. Great fun. Wish I could upload things still.
3. Next stage for friend Mon and Wed. Has coped well today.
4. Gazumped by Lainey. Sat in town of horse emporium carpark LISTENING TO NICK SKELTON'S FANDABBYDOOZY GOLD,[age 58 of your Earth years bop, so giddy-up for Tokyo] and hoped you were listening. Methinks you were:-) AND going 1st AND clear!!! Dear Aggers did his best to remain impartial, but each fault, peck, time loss by rivals came out as throat-strangled joy. Loved it.
5. Sorted. The Alma's opening early demain. &'ll be there.

'Beloved Uncle WILL SO manage this one', bosses little niece &, hands on bossy little hips, aged about 4 as we speak.
Glorious listening right now. Girls have weapons. Tom Daley is diving like a dream. Lutalo Muhummad, great chap.

And what about Joe Joyce?
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/olympics/2016/08/19/joe-joyce-rio-olympics-2016-super-heavyweight-boxing-semi-final/
tmi moment. Must sort through all of them. Long overdue. & is not Fen-gal chunky and recent driftings South of certain garments mean it's high time and maybe some tone-up weight loss has occurred imperceptibly, ever welcome. Near Eek! moment ce soir, walking back to car. Why do we not go through them more often? Don't know anyone who does.
Bonne nuit Raffles.

Sorry if this is monopolising.
Have just spoken with NZ. All is as well as can be expected. Early days and assessment is gentle, possible improvements. Speech is very slurred, but rugby will be watched on tablet, with many family presences, in a few hours :-)
Difficulty swallowing is the biggie to be tackled instantest. The newly qualified surgeon grand-daughter :-), my cousin's daughter, has driven down, stays until Monday. I remember that geriatric care and quality of life was an area she found herself surprised to be truly taken with, a couple of years ago. Cousin, as v.senior nurse tutor, is reassuring part of all care meetings, another happening today.
Thankyou for the feeling of letting me write this into the night, the ether, the knowledge of empathy and care shared and spread...as I now do in turn to all who post and lurk here.
A few more things to do, then au lit...briefly.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Hello, it's Saturday evening, sun has decided to come out at end of day and although rain was forecast we only had a wee shower as I was leaving work, lovely big rainbow above my car.
Went to work, it was meh! I just don't want to be there . I feel I can't really look for another job because of my home situation so I need to just put up and shut up just now. The lad who was meant to be closing had a bit of an upset , when his mum came in and told him something , he had to leave and was in tears. Shame....that meant I had to stay and close . So contacted boss and said I had plans for after 3pm ( like not be at work!) so we closed at 2pm and were out for 3pm.
Made orange and poppyseed muffins and brownies.
Haggis dog has 5 new to him tennis balls. Son had been cycling past a tennis club!
Nice chat with friend and her daughter telling me about back to school before I went to work this morning .
Happily married for 24 years today. He's a lucky man!
Enjoy your weekend0 -
Blessings for Ampersand and 'uncle' in my heart, thoughts and prayers along with Laineys mumsie, Mhags and family, BOP and Jenny and any others of us with difficult things going on in life at the moment. The darkest of times WILL pass and there will be sunlight in our lives again, there is an end to the pain and anguish that is now and there IS love to sustain all of us through whatever comes to us, the strength will be there even though the tears fall, we'll all make it because in part we have each other and all know how it feels. Stay strong my friends xxx.
1) It's NOT raining.....yet!
2) HOCKEY GOLD!!! well done those amazons!
3) Nick Skelton wins a GOLD (horsey helped of course) at 58.....WOW!
4) Remembered to get something out of the freezer for our supper today, life has been somewhat in the way of cooking of late so a 'proper' meal tonight will be nice.
5) Sleep last night, finally!0 -
The scene is set..rather odd lady of a certain age hanging around outside pub, desperate for it to open...apparently.
Oh, she's wearing THE shirt appropriate, stonking pounamu cleaver and other symbolics, among which a vintage sterling silver fern NZOGC pin-lucky find for Rio atm®:-)
Another quinze minutes b4 doors open, she reads but patron has just shown head from upstairs...about 1030h, says he.
There's a good old medlar close by. Will sit there and read until.
Kick off 11, Albion hours.
Blowy as. Being occasionally showered with pinks reds magentas from the Alma's beautiful hanging baskets, tumbling and massed begonias.
Thank you all for good words and thoughts, here and now flourishing, burnished by fine use and tracing their own infinity. This is tinternet GOOD.

Mhags and Mr mhags anniversary is, too.

Squirm, fury, irritation - have felt them, although not lived them as you've had to.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:
