We have hedgehogs on the allotment, sound like MrC snoring and snorting at night
Mhags - a lovely post. Sending every good wish to you.
LainieyT - I love the dressage, my sister and friend both ride. Horses are too high up for me but my friends donkey foals are enchanting.
1. Lively day, cool and fresh.
2. Broad bean picking on the allotment very early today. Discovered we have hedgehogs!!
3. Hand sewing ancient pieced patchwork watching cricket. Soothing, sleep inducing . . .
4. A gift of books from an old friend. Very old sci fi. So many wonderfulbooks, so little time to waste on ironing, how could I read them all otherwise :rotfl:
5. MrC brought me a magnificent bunch of dahlias from the allotment: the colours are so bright they hurt your eyes, they clash with everything we have and I love them. Dahlias are not quiet or subtle they scream "enjoy life!". Sometimes it's good to be loud, and laugh.0 -
Cappella, my equine pal Bill and I did some very low level dressage in his more flexible days, his best score was always for his halt, square and true but probably because he was so glad to stop :rotfl:0

Thank you for your very beautiful post mhags; so glad the day was all that you wished for.0

You know, the sprouts are on down under! Bah Humbug. :heartpuls :heartpuls
PM2DD We is on yer tail! #UTM
5 Went to emporiums this morn. W8rz for normal bits and odds. Snorkers and tatties the like! Spent less than £30. Then I used our voucher in T. Got proper cocoa. The shelves were full of foam drinks and carp. Handed over 49 pennies to T. Because while before they get any more, because we are well short of the next voucher! Avoid!
4 Watched third Smokey and Bandit last night with BoPsie. She was miffed as that Burt was missing. Oh well. Sticky chicken and wobbleades were consumed. All is well.
3 Just had fest of pan grilled snorkers, onions, fresh cauliflower, diced carrots, peas and proper pan gravy. Was washed down with concentrate of lemon and fresh Spring tap waters. Rubs Tum. Delight of Angel was also licked up.
2 Day gave just seen England win in the cricket. Feet are up. BoPsie has a big pile of dirty dished to put into the washer of dishes.
You take a lead, and the dog for a walk!0 -
Happy Christmas mhags and family. Such lovely posts reminding us of the true meaning of Christmas.
Happy hols frith, happy chasing bop
Hedgehogs are very noisy Capella first time I heard them didn't believe the person who told me that's what the noise was
1) walked down to butchers with ds, dropping 2 bags off at the CS and bagging two library oor wullies at our local library on the way
2) bought some liver and made lish liver, bacon and leeks lunch for me and ds
3) deadheaded our prickliest rose
4) mum came round and we went to mr l's
5) after church today met the children in town. We had lunch at the bank bar (not least cos they do two meals for £9 - I had bangers and mash yum)
Quite a time of change coming up. Xoh starts new job 1st sept in Manchester and has found a flat. Ds moves to Glasgow next month. Gbf moves to Cardiff soon as they've sold their house. I admire enormously all you on this thread and how you have overcome challenges in your lives. Although currently I'm a bit nervous being on my own after 33 years, I'm also getting a bit impatient now for the next chapter. Let the adventure begin!MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Hi all! Love this thread, so many happy positive money saving ideas
My five pleasures of today:
1. OH treated me to some spotlights for my mini camper that he found cheap at an auto jumble (I've said they can be my early birthday present)
2. Fitted curtain rails to the mini camper, excited about making curtains this week now
3. Left over beef soup for tea
4. Tequila from Mexico from OH's boss for pudding, (had to try it) did try it neat  but had to get OJ from shop and ice from the freezer
5. Sitting on OS forum with my rabbits ruling the lounge and making it look like a barn
6. OK I know it's 5 but... updated budgets and overpaid loan by £300
7. (1 more) Driving lesson went really well, got the 3 point turn first time :j

Lovely post mhags, glad your family had a warm and loving day.
Have a safe journey frith.
DD I too am going through a period of immenant change. Eldest Dd leaves in two weeks to travel round Bali, Malaysia and then live in oz for two years. We've never been apart for more than a week and my heart burns with pain and pride as she teeters on the nest edge. My next born is attempting to leave home and the littles are entering secondary and juniors respectively.
Having been a full on mummy for 23 years, I'm not adjusting to letting my birds fly.
Anyhow pleasures for Sunday
1. Glorious sunny day of mootling about the house.
2. Succeeded in finding coffee ice cream for the local priest, why does he want 4 tubsof haagen Dazs Haven't a clue and too polite to ask.
3. Scrummy dinner of chicken with lots of fresh veggies followed by home made lemon cake (ooh I love a good cake)
4. A lovely evening spent with my tinies chatting about our October caravan holiday, making bracelets and reading the next chapter of bfg. I've had my copy of the book since I was 8, it's worn but I adore it.
5. Snuggled in bed with hubby, tea and more aforementioned cake watching olympics, bliss
Hugs for all xxSIMPLY BE-££577.11:eek:

1. Reading Mhags lovely post . Happy Christmas.
2. Lunch with DH cousin and husband great to catch up with them and a good meal. MIL also came unfortunately not too much of a pleasure but am starting to not stress about her.
3. Seeing the hedgehog again and she is very noisy.
4. DS2 being in a chatty mood when he came home. He may be out for the rest of the week. It's easier to stay at my sister's than coping with M25 and cheaper as no petrol used.
5. Flowers in a vase.0 -
Merry Christmas MHags, it sounds like you had a lovely, memory-filled day xx
1. Enjoying the freedom of our friends' house and the attention of their kitties.
2. A lazy day yesterday - finished off planning my first English unit, (just need to make the slides now which I'm doing whilst DD isn't around to nag me to stop!), played cards in the sunshine with DD and watched films
3. Enjoying more peace and quiet whilst DD sleeps, I'm not used to sharing a bed, and always seem to sleep well the first night I'm away, then go back to my usual routine of sleeping badly thereafter *sob*
4. Low spend day yesterday, although we did have takeaway for dinner......nomnom!
5. Sunshine!0
