    1. Back from a few glorious days near Bath for our dear friends' wedding :) We had a lovely, lovely time

    2. The hotel beds - blissfully comfortable, I slept better than I have for months!

    3. The swimming pool - small but fun:) DD and I got two good swims in.

    4. Meeting lovely people, who we 'knew' via chatting to the couple, and from FB posts and discovering they're even lovelier in real life :)

    5. Had a good catch up with another one of my BFFs, who had come from Welsh Wales for the wedding :)

    6. Fun and laughter with DD - she's my girl again, phew! Long may that feeling last....

    7. Picnics on both of our long journeys, nomnom.

    8. Having been a recipient of many a lesson idea or plan, it was great to be able to send over some planning to someone who put up a plea on FB.

    9. The way the rain stopped bucketing down and thesun shone brightly for the wedding :)

    10. Home now and thinking of packing for our cat sitting holiday starting tomorrow!

    Pleasures for today (Friday)

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Spent time in town doing son type thing - getting tools from Tool Station and looking at/buying a birthday drone from Maplins.

    3) Went geocaching along the canal.

    4) Went to the dentist. A different person today (3rd time of tooth repair). No, please do poke with your nasty pokey tool until you hit an exposed nerve!!! When I had come down off the ceiling, seems she has made a very neat job of patching it again. I am modelling my new tooth grinding guard as I type..

    5) Barbeque at my sister's and brother in law's at tea time.

    6) Sons are still there, having a role playing night.

    7) I am sitting on the sofa watching the Olympics and enjoying the quiet!

    8) Also using Google Earth to explore where we are going on holiday (on Monday). Getting a bit nervous now. Como was the day I was unsure of (just randomly decided to go to Italy as we were in the area) but, by chance, location looks good with a gelato caf! on the corner, nice bay and funicular up to a tiny village for only a few euros. :-)

    Five for Friday:
    1. Mortgage paperwork/email free day!
    2. Playing football with the dog...she won.
    3. Beach flowers candles around the house and they smelt lovely
    4. Other half finally got me insured on his car and it's reduced the insurance cost - double whammy!
    5. Good customer service from Vision Express - a little really does go a long way.

Just to put DD in the mood, some relaxing music for you, interspersed with some proper football!!

For the rest of yous, here goes!

5 Two mega fest breakfasts on the bounce! YestDay BoP had BoPsie running for the cover of the duvet, as he had sliced chicken livers, reduced, best back, onions, mushrooms, grilled toms, and fried egg on hot buttered and marmite toast. Raffles was given the liver hearts, and he washed his lips with delight. Proper food none of that sugar infested cereal carbolic bars available in the emporiums!

4 Today was the usual SatFest of snorkers, Chipolata style this week, Best back, mushrooms, star cut grilled toms, toast hot buttered and topped with poached egg. Raspberry jam and buttered toast was also taken. Fresh concentrate of orange and tea was drunk. Rubs Tum. Sticky Chickens prepped for the evening, wobbleades cooling near refrigerator. Alls Well!

3 Went to town last night and BoPsie again drank the plaice dry! Three visits on the bounce now! Had nosh out for a change! Rubs Tum. Caught the big Worster Train back home, but did not get to the end of the line! Toot Toot!

2 Day emporium of T has written. Just how does their database know when the holidays are and suddenly we have an abundance of vouchers from them! Incredible! last time, at easter they sent us nothing! Sweet Adams Fanny! This time we have enough vouchers to spend a whopping £2.50 in their emporium. BoPsie is looking round for what to buy, we will not be in for long! Avoid.

You played no shot at that then

As usual mine are mostly food related:

    1. Used a leftover half jar of tikka sauce with some lentils and leftover red pepper (chopped) to make a soup for a few day lunches at work next week.

    2. Dinner will be: freebie curry and rice (from OH's night delivery job and bunged in the freezer) with some 10p YS naan bread.

    3. Lazy day here as usual on a Saturday and no feelings of guilt since it was too wild to do things outside.

    4. Discovered I had overpaid the log man so I am actually due more logs to add to the stash for the winter

    5. Laundry all caught up. Even beds stripped. All hung out in the hope that it will dry tomorrow :D

Ampersand - have never preserved fuchsia fruit, just graze on them straight from the bushes. When ripe they are sweet with a faint citrus flavour.

PK - would love to see the stars clearly, far too much light pollution here.

    Saturday pleasures
1.Homemade biscuits at the-sons. He is a good baker.
2.Hugely amused by a spaniels huge, hairy, hobbit feet, looked far too big for him. Wonder how big he will grow?
3.Watching the gymnastics from the Olympic Games. Such amazing skills, and how hard they must have worked to perfect them.
4.More poetry. Carol Anne Duffy and Yeats tonight. Some books must go to the CS, but which ones???
5.Eating summer fruits, peaches and apricots have never tasted better.

I do love this thread:) I'm now yearning for a visit to The Welsh Lands, a good cooked brekkie tomorrow, Poetry, and to live further out into the countryside amongst the Hedgehogs:) ALL of which I WILL achieve!
More reading in the sunshine for me today
Cautiously finding my way into the Olympic coverage (I start by just watching here and there, and a few days in I get hooked)
Salmon and a rather nice Rissotto eaten this evening.
Music was listened to - tunes that brought back memories of good times.
A woodpecker has visited; nature is wonderful.

Thanks to Capella and Ampersand for the encouragement - an email will be sent to the local choirmaster this week:)

    Sweet dreams...
