Well I crashed and burned a couple of hours ago but I'm now BING ! Wide awake! This is my normal bedtime and normal routine starts tomorrow so I do need to try and sleep overnight!

Had a yummy dinner of lasagne and roast potatoes and sprouts and snow peas.

We put thr Christmas trees up today, house is looking very festive for our m-early celebrations.

It's Haggis Dogs birthday today. He is 2. Has been suitably sung to all day and enjoyed his new toys ( one of which he found earlier in the week ) gorgeous boy.

Dd2 was working and came home with free bread.

Dd1 was supposed to working but somone else turned up and she came home and helped put tree up.

DS accepted the bribe of a packet of Percy pigs to put big tree together!

The sun was shining and a decent breeze so washing all out on line, dried and ironed.

Dd1 found mincemeat at work so mince pies will be made this week. Only her and I that like them.

Have a good Sunday ....off to try and sleep.

    Happy Birthday Haggis Dog:)

    Some weekend pleasures:
    An old movie yesterday afternoon
Sausage sarnies with brown sauce, and good coffee; perfect Sunday morning fare.
Ironing done, and lunches prepared for those that need to take them tomorrow - once dinner is cooked, the evening will be chore free:)
More reading about my Icelandic Detective; thoroughly absorbing.
A good night's sleep - haven't quite caught up on the many disturbed nights recently, but almost!
Lovely garden smells, combined with freshly washed shirts on the line:)

Hello, a very soggy Melbourne, after a lovely day yesterday it has lashed with rain , absolutley poured. Happy new month .

Dreadful sleep..wide awake most of night with jet lag....I then had such a sound sleep between 4-6pm tonight ...was zonked and got such a start when I woke. Hoping normal service resumes in a few days . I'm such a martyr to jetlag.

Had an appointment in work town, so popped into work afterwards. Had met one of my Scottish customers on the way so had a good blether with him. More changes at work but I'm only going to be doing one shift a week for now so can just go in and smile then walk away ...that's the theory.

Early morning plumber appointment ...6.55am rather than 7.30am as agreed.....bleary eyed I couldn't see that it was a different lad ! Anyway, new loo in downstairs bathroom...no more late night visits to ours from son.

Thought the plumber hadn't shut the outer fly screen door ....postie had jammed it open with a parcel. It was a hamper of foodie goodies from OHs work. Chocolate pate anyone? Blue cheese biscuits? Dark mint hot chocolate?

Lost an hour and a half of my life I won't ever get back trying to do my Australian tax return online , kept freezing, kept stopping . Gave up and will go to a tax agent I think.

Made fish pie for the fishy people and macaroni for DD1 and I.

Cleaned bathrooms and hoovered downstairs hall and bedroom .

Lots of dog snuggles...we both had a snooze at 4pm.

I'm a day ahead and keep thinking this is Tuesday but it's only Monday ...chemo starts tomorrow so a very early start to get into the city.

    Have a lovely day :)

    Some pleasures -

    1. Went to sit out with early morning tea, c.6 bells, but beautiful butterfly was there before me, wings folded, deep midnight blue. Then it took off and turned out to be aglais io, not recognised by & with wings folded, entirely unlike description.

    2. Theme to follow:-) circa 5 bells y'day, out to compost corner where big King Grenouille sat proudly on the old carpet covering/cooking it. Was within 2 metres when we saw each other. We both simply kept still for a bit. & said Hello and knew returning for camera would mean he wasn't there on rtn.

    3. Bread made this morning, 1st time in ages. One multi-seedy loaf, other with peel, sultanas, tarragon, poppy seed, grated orange zest. Have had too many slices already. No machine here, just little hands+big bowl.

    4. Read a bit more of Saturday's grauniad, lingering over Review section.
    Ceci très &:

Do I feel another No More Books[DEFINITELY]buy coming on? Rather think so.
[and that's without anyone noticing & seemed to order 2 more Pels over w/e]

    5. Mowed. In time for forecast rain and diabolicals as usual. On verra.
We'll see if the dozen re-potted basils survive from the rtc 7p emporium pot. All &'s plants come thus, or as freebies. Everything takes its chance, as must the aloe vera, also in new pot, ditto its 5 babies.
Have scrubbed nails umpty times today, from bread dough to soil, all v. earth mothery aujourd'hui.

[STRIKE]bop[/STRIKE] Raffles has asked me to write [STRIKE]him[/STRIKE] bop a winning reference for his forthcoming Social Workery Protection Ossifer Application. Not sure & is = to task.
    Throwing this one open....

Lainey - do I ascertain you have joined lady bop in the However Many to 1 off Best of 3 parallel universe?

Yvie - garden room is 'inherited'. I want to line the walls before the handsome curtains go back up and fab. hand-made horsehair drop-end chaise longue returns. Will sort extra floor covering too. It has a sprung floor. Enzed travellers F and J will be its 1st bolt-holers next March.

Frith - please send bigger son to do same in &'s porch - bulkhead light - please.

mhags - some of us need crimbo mincemeat pies too:) - just a reminder to leave a few. Firmly with you all demain for OH. Heard some Deacon Blue[another & fave]with Ricky Ross's 'With Great Pleasure' this arvo:

Ampersand - light was £3 from Homebase.

    Pleasures for today:

    1) A lie in.

    2) Off to the woods with my friend and her 3 children (and my 2). We introduced them to geocaching. When we left, they found 3 more!

    3) Picnic in the sun.

    4) Went to Maplin to look at drones and the tip with some garden rubbish.

    5) Checked the hens - 3 eggs.

    6) Tasty tea of Quorn pie, broccoli, carrots and potatoes (from the allotment).

    7) 12 stones 6 now. An improvement from 13 stones 12 earlier in the year.

    8) Went swimming with sons and brother and did 1km.

    9) Watching Eden now with bigger son.

    10) Looking forward to ISIHAC later.

    1. Looking forward to hearing more about BoP's future career :)

    2. Thanks for the reminder about the lovely Rev Richard Coles, &, he's my favourite person on the radio :)

    3. Had a lovely weekend in London with one of my BFFs. We went to see Groundhog Day as her birthday treat - good but not amazing, despite being a T. Minchin production.........drank jugs of cocktails (and I've discovered that mojitos are, for me, a non-hangover beverage, a welcome rarity!!) and laughed and put the world to rights.

    4. Was puzzled at how my new lovely, HUGE, C. Kidstonesque purse is unable to fit all of the cards, library, loyalty and credit, money, vouchers and receipts that my small purse coped with! It's like a reverse tardis situation...but I will be a bit more ruthless with getting rid of small change and less-used cards and hopefully me and purseykins will get on just fine!

    5. Asked a question on one of my teacher groups on FB and had some lovely replies, us teachers (eh BoP)are so helpful to each other :)

    6. Enjoying the holidays :)

    Monday's five:
    1. Nice walk with the pooch down some country lanes

    3. My other half - he's an absolute pain in the backside sometimes but he knows when I need him and he's always there
    4. Hopefully the plumber will be here on Tuesday so I can finally stop turning the water on and off at the mains
    5. Chocolate milkshake
